  1. I simply cannot accept these people having been driven to such insanity 'Allah is a city'?!?! This means that Allah is limited and Muhammad is a piece of that limitation called Allah. It is as simple as 2 + 2 = 4.
  2. You can tell them you don't want any soliciting (the formal term for what they're doing), or even put up a sign and refuse to answer the door.
  3. The other problem with debating there is the brother doesn't read properly he acts as though I only addressed their forum in terms of the mocking that goes on in these debates, which is a childish excuse anyway I don't recall other people doing something suddenly allows you to commit wrongdoing. He also acts as though my list was in a specific order, there was no order order would need numbers, nitpicking. He also claims this thread makes Shias look bad, no, individuals make themselves look bad, it is you and your people who attempt to paint broad pictures much like some Christians I have met when they do so for Muslims as a whole. He also said my name was Pokemon. Okay? Then he expects people to take his debate challenge seriously.
  4. The problem with all of this is, of course, he will only take material from this thread he can use to make Shias look bad as in feed the prejudice present among pseudo-scholar Sunnis and their followers and cheerleaders who are more preoccupied with the activities of other Muslims than with the list I made which the brother scoffed at, as though reading Qur'an or watching a documentary etc. were not meaningful activities. He claims if I don't have hours, days, or weeks to 'debate' him, therefore I shouldn't comment on this thread, this illogical point is enough to see why debate is nonsense, having a few minutes to comment on one thread doesn't translate to having hours to sit down for this debate and to say I cannot comment on the problems with this debate is unreasonable as well. It is especially troublesome considering they openly mock Shias on a regular basis in their threads. Why would anyone engage them? I should remind the members we also should not laugh at them: "O you who believe! let not (one) people laugh at (another) people perchance they may be better than they, nor let women (laugh) at (other) women, perchance they may be better than they; and do not find fault with your own people nor call one another by nicknames; evil is a bad name after faith, and whoever does not turn, these it is that are the unjust." (49:11)
  5. See the list I made for better things to do than to get offended that Shias or anyone else don't want to waste their time to 'challenges' as though this nothing more than a crusade against this forum or the people in it. The man is rude anyway, trying to provoke people by quoting them on the opposing forum rather than simply asking questions here. This isn't how Muslims should act nor debate rendering the debate useless to anyone who engages in it except to satisfy the intellectually cannibalistic urges of the members of that forum that wish turn Islam into a football match.
  6. It's also funny that the man keeps replying to posts made on ShiaChat but only on his forum, why would anyone engage in a thread the man already derailed by caring more about what Shias thought about him rather than the subject at hand. Reminds me of the Christians and Muslims who forever argue on various forums and chat rooms. Here is a list of things to do rather than engage in that debate - Read Qur'an - Read a book - Watch a movie - Spend time with family - Pray, make dua, meditate - Watch paint dry - Etc.
  7. Islam qa is a Salafist website, I would suggest Laleh Bakhtiar's translation of the Qur'an on the verses in question.
  8. Then it is unsurprising that the Middle East is bloated with dictators.
  9. Who said anything about the presence of an Imam? Is the point of thinking of those men we hold dear only to think of what would happen if they were here? They are our examples, what they would do is what we should take into our own souls to learn how we can handle these struggles in life. Assad is a tyrant, ISIS are a group of tyrants, do you think siding with one or the other will save anyone? The defense of a group of Shias or any other victimized group is of the highest nobility, but is this Assad's goal? Please, he is nothing more than an opportunist, he would throw away his allies at the drop of a hat, just look at how he hosted the U.S.'s torture of Muslims whom they had no proof their crimes. He bent over backwards for his fellow oppressors, because that is who he is, that is who they all are that rule with iron fists in the Middle East. You would do well not to result to hyperbole in speaking with others, attempt to say I do not support self-defense, indeed I do not support tyrants, that is what I said, it is haram to put words in others mouths. Salam alaikum
  10. As the world has around 7 billion people it is unsurprising that Christians have become Muslims, Muslims become Christians, Shia to Sunni, Sunni to Shia. I've personally known one brother raised Shia who had become Sunni after some 'learning', his insistence on debating me on the matters of Shia-Sunni issues before I had learn anything on those matters are what led me to accelerate my own learning on those matters and later accepting Imamate.
  11. It is the typical case made on behalf of many tyrants that things were 'generally fine' before a war has broken out or some other trauma has occurred to the country, no doubt Western interference in Syria is damaging, just as massive damage happened to Iraq when America invaded, so is it happening in Syria with the Western backed extremist rebels. There are many who said Iraq was 'generally fine' before the war broke out, while ignoring the rights violations, torture, etc. It is well known Assad lent Syria as a staging ground for U.S. torture (sprinkled with the pretty term 'extraordinary rendition' of Muslims, should it be excused? In any case, the only good tyrant is a dead tyrant and all groups that encourage evil should be opposed without appealing to the new secular political principles that have infected the minds of many Muslims that cause them to support tyrants since it is possible a new set of tyrants will emerge, tyrants will always produce more tyrants backing one tyrant or the other solves nothing as is proven in Iraq for those who opposed the West against Saddam despite the typical destruction the West was bringing forth, the key was to support neither the West nor Saddam, both are evil. It is simple enough to ask oneself, would The Prophet support ISIS? Would he support Assad? If Imam Mehdi were to emerge now would he take up arms or speak out on behalf of Assad? Salam alaikum
  12. Salam alaikum, threads on forums about different groups will normally reduce themselves to bickering among different insistent young men who all hope to mean well, but usually both the Sunnis and Shias (or groups on any forum) blow up the arguments to the point of absurdly long diatribes leaving things a bit hollow. I'm glad to 'meet' someone who has done something which I have suggested in many threads, it is not forums that will solve the Sunni-Shia issue in the favor of Truth, but educating oneself through reflection, reading, and familiarizing oneself through the best methods (i.e. actually listening to Shias and considering their position impartially). Truth is the constant goal of Islam.
  13. Call the local authorities, stalking should be taken very seriously and remember many countries allow you to place a legal restraining order on the person. The next step for stalkers is almost always some kind of assault on their target, do NOT confront them by yourself. May Allah grant you safety and peace.
  14. It is the duty of all Muslims to take the uncompromising stance towards justice that the Prophet and Imam Ali, Bashar is a tyrant. Unfortunately the contenders to replace him are tyrants as well, so I oppose them all, I've yet to see a "lesser of two evils" approach work out in favor of the rights if the common man.
  15. I have known quite a few Christians that are nobler and more reliable than many Muslims I have met. The nobility of Christians and Muslims is not inherent but due to their individual adherence to the genuine moral principles of their books and teachings. In short, anyone who adheres to the Sermon on the Mount sincerely will always prove to be a noble person.
  16. The hadiths on the 12 Mahdis are speculative at best, which has already been admitted in the post that was a reply to mine. The fact that it is so speculative when it is a clear part of the essential beliefs we should hold as people who must follow those whom The Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) designates is enough of an indication that it is either false or will be elaborated on by Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him). As for Ahmad al-Hassan rejecting different scholars, I am indifferent philosophically, he very well could be correct on certain claims which would explain his fanatical following. However, the man preaches things that are clearly illogical (I've already gone into this in detail in my other posts in this thread), more fluff than philosophy or spirituality.
  17. Salam alaikum, the hadtihs have presented many times by the followers of Ahmed al-Hassan's followers, they believe it proves his authenticity despite his unreasonable teachings on things like dreams, etc. The hadith could be authentic although it is odd that The Prophet would mention 12 more men to be followed by every single Muslim without mentioning them by name like he does for the 12 Imams (see: Lantern of the Path) or by having ample hadith on this matter such as there is for the 12 Imams. Not to mention that Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him) is never reported as saying anything about his successor coming before his reappearance or anything having to do with any man appearing other than Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him). Imam Mahdi's Minor Occultation was to strengthen and entrust the remaining Shia of Imam Mahdi's time of all they needed to know and pass on until his return from Major Occultation so where are the 12 Mahdis?
  18. Any communication might have with anyone prophet or not would not yield misguidance as long as they turned toward Allah and their Intellect as I said.
  19. If she is capable of the severe error that led to many deaths, then what guarantees that she has not made severe errors in reporting Narrations?
  20. Why doesn't Allah resurrect The Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and have him reunite the whole Ummah, not just the Shia? Because life is a test wherein we are not meant to be babied towards guidance, rather we are meant to earn it, besides Allah has granted us all intellect as the internal prophet for us to use the copious amount of literature (Psalms of Zain al-Abidin, Lantern of the Path by Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, 112 volumes of Hadith in Bihar al-Anwar, Nahjul Balagha, etc.) that these men fought and died for. If men remain in their state despite such masterful work being present, then would it even matter if Imam Mahdi or The Prophet appeared now? Remember, according to history even Imam Ali could barely muster his people to fight a tyrant only 40 years after Islam. Then the Prophet's grandson was trampled under horses by another tyrant.
  21. Alhamdulilah, the importance of a mind that is oriented toward honest, kind debate and discussion is immeasurable. Surely, the most important thing to remember in this issue of Sunni-Shia is that these different ideas do not render us any less open brothers and sisters in Islam, enthusiasm should exist for this type of discussion for, just as your video said, the Muslims have bickered and complained while separating from each other based on race, tribe, school of thought, etc. Meanwhile, we see Muslims all over fleeing, dying, and starving. May Allah grant those minds oriented in such a fashion the most illuminating light that reveal all truths. :)
  22. Can you please provide the hadiths you claim exist among the Shia books? That is what people are asking for.
