  1. Hi Laayla. What on earth has sexual harassement got to do with shaking hands??????
  2. I doubt such groups exist. Not within Christianity either. I was speaking about secular Muslims. Or maybe you prefer to call them cultural or ethnic Muslims.
  3. In september we will elect our govenrment politicians. Lets see how many hundred votes Nazis will recieve. And sharia, I dont think there is a Shariaparty running for parliament in Sweden. Not even sure they exist.
  4. They can, if they recieve enough support from the voters. There is no sign they will. 100 votes give no influence. You need at least 4% of all votes in Sweden to enter parliament. Try google "democrasy".
  5. Muslim come here in hope of a better life. Economically or/and for political freedom. Many escaping war. Of course there are some that wish Sharia, we are all diffetent, but most prefer Swedish law and democrasy. There are also Swedes that are anti-democrats. The Nazi party has a few hundred members. Nazism or Sharia will never come to power. Having meals with Muslims is no problem for me or the Muslims I know. There may be for some Muslims, but I think they are few. I have heard of Muslims that refuses to shake hand with the opposite sex, very impolite in Sweden, they are few thou. I cannot think of any subject I am afraid of discussing. I dont want to get hurt, so I would hesotate to discuss face to face with persons from ISIS. Normal Muslims alsp would, I guess. Muslims on ShiaChat are very conservative not questioning their leaders, opposite most Muslims that are rather secular. Not only in Sweden, but also in Muslim countries.
  6. I am very much aware that Muslims generally will follow old traditional belief. However there are always people that dont. The history of the Quran is not very well documented which opens up for theories that differ from the official ones.
  7. So what you are saying is that the lower text is a result of scribal errors. Read your link again. Experts say it is not likely to be svribal errors. ( Awaiting your answer to my question)
  8. You are far out now. The Sanaa lower text is not identical to Uthmans canon. Uthmans Quran may very well also be older than when it was made Canon You still have not anwered if you agree with the wikipedia site you linked to. If you do not answer this third time I now ask, I will be certain you do not dare to answer and I will not ask again.
  9. I find it very likely that both Sanaa and Birmingham Qurans are prior to Uthmans. After Uthman no other versions than his were allowed. Is there any information that the experts give according your wikipedialink that you disagree with? You did not answer this
  10. ??? Where did I say it was conspiracy?? Possibly dfferent Qurans circulated until Uthman forbade them all, except the one of his choise. No conspiracy.
  11. I have no reason to question anything that the link you refer to is wrong. Do you?
  12. Wikipedia on Sanaa Quran "The upper text largely conforms to the standard 'Uthmanic' Quran in text and in the standard order of suras; whereas the lower text contains many variations from the standard text, and the sequence of its suras corresponds to no known quranic order" This is not a copy of Uthmans Quran. It is a slightly different version. There is nothing sensational different versions occured. The revelations occured over a long period of time and could easily have developed minor differences. Maybe Muhammed himself did not use exactly the same language when retelling the first revelation 20 years later. Conservative Muslims believe God protected the Quran from "variations". Conservative Christians believe God did so with the Bible. It makes little sense to me that God, if he wished to protect his word, did not do so with both the Bible and the Quran. My conlusion is that God trusted Man to write these books. They are therefore not perfect, but the differences between the variants make no difference to their messages.
  13. The history of the Biblical books and the Quran has some similarities. Both are written on basis of oral memories. We do not know very much about the persons that documented them, but what they wrote is rather well preserved. Corruption is not an apropiate word on any of them.
  14. A big difference however is that Muslims very soon established a state of their own, controlling their citizens like Christianity was not able to until Rome became Christian. For 300 years Christianity could not stop heretic writings like Islam could, and did maybe already 20 years after Muhammed died. I find it likely that the Sanaa Quran could be a copy of a Quran older than Uthmans, from before the "burnings". If so I know it would be a nightmare for conservative Muslims, but things can be said in many different ways and still mean the same. Maybe even Muhammed did when telling others what he heard the Angel say?
  15. There is no swedish law that forbids a person to dislike someone. If you by "rejection" mean that the father has no right to stop the marriage if the daughter wishes to be "disobedient", there is no problem. I am certain many Sharia laws from a Swedish view seem sensible, not all however. Lashing someone for adultery on Swedish soil is not allowed. Marrying 4 wives is not possible either. But everybody has freedom to have many partners if they wish.
  16. Swedish law does stop Muslims from fully practise sharia law. There are of course parts of Sharia law that does not break Swedish law, no problem if you practise them in Sweden. Swedish Muslims who are citizen have the same rights as all other Swedes. Also the same duties, which includes obeying Swedish laws. Like most other citizen I have a problem with people who do not obey our laws, no matter their religion. The great majority Muslims behave well and contribute positively to our country. They do not blindly follow Sharia.
  17. We want our immigrants to integrate in our society, not form a paralel society where Muslims intermarry. We have freedom of religion, but the freedom is under Swedish law. Swedish law is not combinsble with Sharia. Immigrants that do not wish to assimilate can move back to where they came from.
  18. It is rather close to Uthmans, but not exacly the same. Experts say it cant be copying error. What they copied was not Uthmans Quran.
  19. Swedish law has authority over Sharia in Sweden. Qa'im wrote: "There is a serious Muslim marriage crisis in the West which can destroi our diaspora". If he is talking about not being able to live by Sharia law, this diaspira destruction is unavoidable.
  20. My fault. It is reality among immigrants in Sweden, but noone on Shia Chat recommends it. Sorry. What is regarded as OK amomg Muslims seems to be that a father can reject his daughter to marry a boy she would like to marry. This is not possible in Sweden, and Muslims here ought to accept this. This is not always so
  21. Some parents do kidnap their daghters and marry them in the land they come from. If that is against Islamic law, thats the way it should be. However parents in Sweden (as in most civilised countries) cannot reject a person that has turned 18 to marry the person she/he wishes to marry.
  22. No matter what we think our holy books say, fact is that slavery has been accepted as something natural in both Christian and Islamic countries until not that long ago. Slavery still exists.
