  1. brothers & sisters dont waste your time arguing here. our lord watches on, the day of judgement awaits and good deeds await. let them say what they want. you wont be questioned for their deeds but your own. just delete this account and close the thread. dont let this arguing continue because its bad for the ruh.
  2. i dont surf porn. not at all. shame on you. do you? yoda we will agree to disagree. i will br the first to admit i was a bit harsh but look at at how you speak. i dont appreceate being called names and accused of stuff just because i decided to give some advise.
  3. kim i dont want to spend time arguing with unreasonable people like you and imali and yoda lol. Thank god not all of you are like that. naz, chaotic and lady are actually thoughtful, polite and reasonable even if we dont all agree. they dont have this impolite edge. bye all.
  4. oh let me add one more thing about my interpretation of that verse. the standard interpretation is that they should not stamp their feet because it will draw attention to themselves. i dont like this because it means women should not do other things like speak in public and work because it draws attention. i am pro women in this way. however in my particular interpretation the verse means that should not draw attention to their body. see how the verse says 'And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment.' so this means they should not do things like skydiving, figure skating and gymnastics. i hope you now know why i started this thread. if you disagree with my tafsir then say so but dont mudsling at me. and dont use cheap shots like imali by calling me a whiner. just talk about the verse of Allah please. i am not abusing you so dont abuse me. its not too much to ask for. god bless and good bye
  5. chaotic the verse is about iddah. man cant propose directly when a woman is on iddah. you got me all wrong and you dont know how messed these guys are. the ones who promote modesty are the good ones. so am i wont reply because you all got the wrong end of the stick. i dont know whats so ugly with what i said! if you can tell me. at least give a proper tafsir and kindly point out my mistake. how can i be blamed for my tafsir? imali you must be the most annoying person on SC. I disagree with chaotic and naz and others but at least they are reasonable and polite. over and out. i will let some of the other bros tell you what society is like. you might not like it but even the ones close to you are maybe screwed in the head. the only ones who are not are the very pious ones. most normal boys who dont care for hijab are messed up in front of other men. ask any decent man that you know and he will say how most normal guys are messed up. i am not one of them. the thread is yours.
  6. yoda1 let them post here you got it all wrong i am talking about most of them. give me a better tafsir. reality hurts but thats the way it is. i am not obsessed with how you dress. this thread is because of the mudslinging and stubbornness of the other thread. this ayah was pasted to make things clear.
  7. Yes seriously. Ever spent time with a group of boys socialising and a woman walk past? The few pious ones wont think or say anything bad, but do you know how messed up the bad (most of them) ones are? Ask any man here and they know what I mean. This quran was revealed in jahil arabia which is like the west today with messed up people. I am only going with the wording of the ayah. Got a better tafsir of those words?
  8. I am not winding anyone up. I am asking a serious question. I am not being rude.
  9. Sahih International 24:31 And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed. Why is stamping feet a bad thing? A women wear anklets and they make noise. Why is this haraam? A man has a mind of a pervert? Really, why is this is the Quran? Let me tell you why I think its haraam. Its because it draws attention and a man will start thinking about what is under her dress. Men are perverts?
  10. Two verses: Yusuf Ali 24:31 And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss. Yusuf Ali 33:59 O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Fist verse says do not even stamp your feet! This is not me nor hadith but the quran saying it. think very carefully about it. Isn't this very strict hijab ordered by the Quran? Dont even stamp your feet so that men will think about what is around your ankles? Does Quran say men are perverts or does it say to women dont even stamp your feet? Dear sisters what is your opinion on this? Second verse the word jalabibihina is used. Which means outer garment. Lets stop the personal bashing and now focus on what islam says. Tell me what you think of this verse.
  11. Just so no one thinks I am like the taliban, I got to say I agree with you. If your dress is decent then you have done your job and the ones who stare have issues. I just don't think the athletes are wearing covering clothing.
  12. I know I said I would quit this thread but I had to repsond to sister ruqaya. Thanks for the post. I dont disagree with what you said. The only thing you didnt address it the very premise of the thread -> Women do not think like men. I know we shouldn't judge the intentions of a person when we dont even know them but if we have insight on something then we should at least say it. These athletes probably think they are doing good hijab but sometimes it takes a man to tell them what is sexually attractive. I am talking about normal men here, like the one in the video. You ladies might dislike something that we men do and it might be bad. So you have insight that we dont. So its your duty to make it known to us! I am sure you can think of one example at least. People write whole books on this type of stuff http://www.amazon.co.uk/What-Women-Want-Men-Know/dp/0007132956 Once a familiar man in a shop told a lady in my family to wear a longer skirt. She thanked him and then told me how appreciative she was! I know some ladies will get angry but this woman sung his praises. Thats what I call an open minded woman. In Islam, you can see her without hijab before you marry her.
  13. Lol, now imali says I am too whiney to be older. Some bad akhlaq shown here. Too much abuse. I got to admit I was a bit harsh in the OP, so I am sorry. I could have said what I had to without sounding a bit rude. It's only this bad akhlaq from some of you which made me realise. Sorry all. Yoda1 what do you say about the video? I quit this thread, bye.
