  1. salam alikum
i have enough experience in teaching farsi language for non-farsi speakers with unique virtual class.
if u take course private or group is different. we can talk about its details in telegram or whats-app.
  2. I have done my best to erase my tracks. I've deleted my posts and my PMs. The only thing I can't delete are whole threads that I've created. Please put my account through the standard procedures to unregister, delete, etc whatever it is that you guys do. Thanks.
  3. A friend of mine visited Battle Creek where he toured the very first Adventist school. His only comment on this was "at least I would get two dates a week!" LOL Personally, I love the retirement plan ;) No mention of social security, obamacare, medicare, etc. Just plan smart and don't be a burden to society. I find it interesting that women were not allowed to marry . . . why? Isn't marriage a good thing? lol
  4. I know in the secular sense it is illegal because it is considered stealing. But I really don't think that Islam has the concept of Intellectual Property, does it? :S
  5. (salam) I am attempting to learn Farsi from this website: http://www.easypersian.com/ I'm really excited. I've learned the big and small forms of B, P, and T (the letters) so far. I need a lot of practice, because all though I know them and can write them out, I can't read them in a large block of text. I mean, I can, but it's hard and takes me FOREVER to work which letter is which. Oh well, I will practice insh'Allah. Does anyone have any experience with learning Farsi? I only speak English and broken German, so I have NO experience with indo-iranian languages. At all. If you could give me any tips or pointers, I would greatly appreciate it.
  6. Are you voting for the puppet on the left or for the puppet on the right?
  7. Is anyone else investing in silver (or other precious metals)? I *just* purchased my very first piece. It is an American Silver Eagle. 1 troy ounce. I bought it from a local coin shoppe. They charged $5 over spot, which came to a total of $35.72 USD. I think the premium is a little high, but I was so excited to have the silver to worry about it. In the future I'll probably buy online. My goal for now is one troy ounce per month, although that may be difficult. I don't know. But I'm really happy right now. I got a 2011 coin, which is a little disappointing. I didn't think to look at the dates when he gave me the bucket to go through. I just picked a shiny one :P I was hoping to get a 2012 coin for my very first one, just to symbolize my commitment. Oh well, it's not like it matters :P The shop keeper was really nice. He gave me some pointers on collecting and told me to keep an eye out for certain years because they are much more valuable (not because of silver content - they're all the same, but because of rarity). If I found one, I would honestly probably just sell it to buy more silver, just because I am only interested in having a stock of silver - I don't care about rare coins. So what about other people? Do any of you buy silver? Got any tips for keeping it? How do you store it? I LOVE MY SILVER EAGLE. :P
  8. I am trying to run a live version of openSuse (GNU/Linux), and eventually install, via Universal Serial Bus (USB) when I get the following error (exact): I downloaded the current x86-64 version from the openSuse website and "burned" it to a 16gb USB device with PendriveLinux's Universal USB Installer ( I have some (Ubuntu) GNU/Linux experience but it has been a while. My laptop model is HP Pavilion g4 1318dx. Please forgive any mistakes I have made as I am typing this on my tablet so I could reproduce the error message exactly as it appears. Thanks.
  9. (salam) This Winter I am planning on visiting my grandmother who lives in Tulsa Oklahoma. I live near Seattle. Last year, I flew there and back, but the price on air tickets has gone up nearly $100. I can't afford this. Also, I get off school on December 21. I must arrive on or before December 24th (Christmas is very important to her). Taking Amtrak wouldn't work as they don't go to Tulsa (and they don't have anything that goes from Seattle to anywhere near Tulsa). I was thinking about Greyhound which would be less than half the price of air travel for round trip, but I am worried for a few reasons. One, it's a bus! I mean, America isn't really that safe, despite what you may have heard. Secondly, the transfers are relatively close together (i.e. one bus arrives and my next one leaves 20 minutes later). What if one is late, as is often the case?! :o Does anyone know of an alternative way to get from Seattle to Tulsa relatively quick and cheap?
  10. I have a suggestion that would help cleanup this section. Unified threads. For example, there could be one thread that is for name changes. A person simply posts their desired username and an Admin could change it. That would eliminate a bunch of threads from this section. Another idea is a "silly questions" thread. For example, I have a question, but I feel awkward creating a whole thread for it because it's so minor. Just some ideas. I don't know how the Admins would feel about it.
  11. Let's settle this once and for all. Poll results are anonymous, so vote honestly.
  12. If you're going to comment, read this WHOLE thing very thoroughly. I will not tolerate stupid. Why does the Antichrist matter? "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:" (Revelation 14:9,10) The Beast power is mentioned many times in the book of Revelation making it of utmost importance that we correctly identify this power. Description of the Antichrist (beast) "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." (Revelation 13:1-3) The Beast power is described her as a composite of other things. "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed." (Revelation 13:11-15) And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the [Edited Out] sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (Revelation 17:15) Waters in Biblical Prophecy represent "peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues". The Beast power came up among many of these. To understand the other parts we turn to Daniel . . . "Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another." (Daniel 7:2,3) Four beasts come up. Got it? "These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth . . . Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces." (Daniel 7:17,23) Beasts are kings and their kingdoms. "The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it." (Daniel 7:4) The first beast is likened to a lion which represents Babylon. "And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh." (Daniel 7:5) The second beast is like a bear which represents Medo-Persia. (compare Daniel 8:20) "After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it." (Daniel 5:6) The third beast is like a leopard which represents Greece. (compare Daniel 8:21) "After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns." (Daniel 7:7) The fourth beast is a dreadful and terrible beast which represents (Pagan) Rome (compare to Daniel 8:23) "I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things." (Daniel 7:8) Ten horns are ten kings and their kingdoms that would arise out of Rome (Daniel 8:24). These ten kingdoms were the Alemani (German), Visigoths (Spain), Franks (France), Suevi (Portugal), Burgundians (Swiss), Anglo Saxon (English), Lombards (Italy), Heruli (destroyed in 493 AD), Vandals (destroyed in 534 AD), and Ostrogoths (destroyed in 538 AD). Another "little" horn or kingdom comes up among the others. Ten identifying marks to identify this little horn kingdom It comes up "among them" or somewhere in Western Europe (verse 8). It comes up after the other horns which would be after 476 AD because the other ten kingdoms were not established until the final fall of Pagan Rome in 476 AD. It uproots or destroys three kingdoms -- Heruli, Vandals and Ostrogoths (verse 8). It has human authority or intelligence at its head who directs the church, rather than the Holy Spirit and the Word of God directing the church (verse 8). It is diverse or different from the other four preceding kingdoms (verse 24). It speaks great words or blasphemy (verse 25 and Revelation 13:5). The Bible definition of blasphemy is: a) A man makes himself God (John 10:31) or B) A man claims to forgive sin (Mark 2:5). It would wear out or persecute God's people (verses 21 and 25). It would make an attempt at changing God's law (verse 25). It would rule for a time, times and dividing of time. Compare Revelation 12:14, Revelation 12:6: time = 1 year; times = 2 years, dividing of time = half a year. Time, times, and dividing of time = 1260 days, which in prophecy means years (Numbers 14:34, Ezekiel 4:6), before receiving its deadly wound. It would be a world-wide religious power (Revelation 13:3,4,8) SO who is the Antichrist according to the Bible?? The Papacy. Compare the little horn of Daniel 7 with the beast of Revelation 13: It rules the same 1260 years and speaks blasphemy It persecutes the saints, and is world-wide It is made up of characteristics found in the four beasts of Daniel 7 Any questions? Oh yes, the 1260 year thing. The Papacy came to power in 538 AD. It ruled for 1260 until it received a deadly wound. This deadly wound was when on February 10, 1798 (exactly 1260 years later) the Papacy was removed from power by General Louis-Alexandre Berthier of France. The Pope was taken captive. The whole world was sure that it was the end of the Papacy's power. Nope. That "deadly wound" was healed and it is now a political AND religious power. Any other questions? If you don't believe this, then prove to me from the Bible ALONE who the Antichrist is. I would love to hear how your theory beats this one. Seriously, which other power or person fits the 10 identifying marks I mentioned earlier? lol
  13. Please change my username to "1844", without the quotes, please.
  14. Most "Christians" today are in fact, not even Christian. They are Baptized Pagans. There is nothing different from them and the Pagans that they took customs and traditions from, except they call on the name of Jesus and hold a Bible. True Christianity, which comes directly from the Bible, has NONE of these Pagan festivals: Easter, Lent, Christmas, All Saints Day (Halloween), Valentines Day, and even the worship on Sunday. Now, most Christians will try to defend their perversion of the faith by explaining that Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus, Easter to remember his resurrection, Lent to imitate his fast, Sunday to commemorate his resurrection, etc. However, Jesus never told people to do this. The Apostles never told people to do this. Are you more intelligent than Jesus? Do you have more divine knowledge about what God wants than Jesus? The birthday of Tammuz, a pagan Sun god, celebrated on December 25th, became Christmas. The season of fasting and abstinence for the sake of Tammuz's death became lent. Conveniently, Tammuz also required celebration of fertility rites (Easter eggs, bunnies, etc) to commemorate his resurrection up into the Sun and his mating with Ishtar (also known as Ashtoreth, Astarte, Eostre, and Eastre), the fertility goddess. When Tammuz died, there was a mythical 40 day period when Ishtar went into the underworld to mourn. All life on earth started decaying. The Heathen remember this day with a 40 day period of fasting and abstinence every year. God called this an abomination (Ezekiel 8:13,14), however the Christian church does it yet today! The only thing I have to say is, if you're going to be a Christian, be a freaking Christian. Try not to mislead people into worshiping the beast (Papacy) through filthy Heathen customs. Thanks. I'd really appreciate it. http://www.amazingfacts.org/free-stuff/online-library/book-viewer.aspx?g=70fb50df-1358-45cb-a301-c2cc800a8666&l=en&t=Baptized+Paganism
