labaikYaZahra reacted to Haydar Karrar in How To Have Iman Despite Doubts?
Habibi, I used to HATE salat.....everyone does at some point, but , you have to do it......trust me, the purpose of Salat is not to have fun, it is to submit.....like I have said before....if you pray correctly and just don't eat Haraam (including non Dhabiha and haraam bought things etc.) and just fulfill your daily Wajibaat for a while....a while later (maybe days maybe weeks maybe months) you will want to improve your deen by reading Mustahabbat and avoiding Makruh....then you'll be set for life and Akhirah Inshallah.
Akhi, trust me.....just fulfill Wajibaat (as fast as you can) try to do it at Awwal Al Waqt.
And maybe Allah (swt) does not respond to your needs is because you don't really need them!!! Ever thought about that.....he knows better.
Imam Jaa'far Saadiq (A.S.) said if you wish to be blessed with holy sight of The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W.) in dream perform this Amal: After Ishaa Namaaz do Sunnat Ghusl, then pray 4 Rak'at Namaaz in which recite Aayatul Kursee 100 times in every rak'at, after this recite 1000 times Salawaat, then sleep on such a bedding on which neither Halaal nor Haraam act has been done, and place your right hand under your right cheek, and recite 100 times - Sub'haanallahi Wal Hamdu Lillaahi Wa Laa Ilaaha Illallaahu Wallaahu Akbar, Walaa Hawla Walaa Quwwata Illaa Billaah.
If you wish to be blessed with the holy sight of Imaam Ali (A.S.) then at the time of going to sleep recite this Duaa: Allaahumma Innee As'aluka Yaa Man Laho Lutfun Khufayyun Wa Ayaadeehi Baasi[Edited Out]un Laa Taqbeedhan As'aluka Bi Lutfikal Khafiyyil-Ladhee Maa Latwufat Bihee Li Abdin Illaa Kafaa An Turiyanee Mawlaaya Ameerul Mu'mineen Aliy-Yibna Abee Twaalibin Alayhissalaamu Fee Manaamee.

labaikYaZahra reacted to Haydar Karrar in Hayhaat Hayhaat!
I noticed that there are not many threads for remembering the great sacrifice of Imam Ali (as) this year.....now i really can say SC people are fools to just let it slip this year.....Hayhaat, Hayhaat, what a pity, what a pity.
Everyone should share how Imam Ali (as) 's martyrdom effects them.... And maybe share something you learned about him you did not know before.....
Imam Ali (as) 's effects us all, in such a way that it cannot be described....it was shocking and also one of the worst things and pitiful things to happen to this Ummah....it amazes me in a way, it makes me think.
It hits me, it annoys me, but it also teaches me and calms me that there will be no more Dhulm....at least we could say no more Dhulm until Imam Hasan (as)'s Shahada.
Something new I heard from the Minbar this year is that the reason Imam Ali (as) spent the night at his daughter Umm Kulthoom (as) house was because she had no children, and nobody would remember and do Dhikr of her after her.....so he said whenever the Masa'ib of Imam Ali (as) are read, Umm Kulthoom will be remembered by hundreds of Shi'a....which will make up for no children for Dhikr.
I also heard this the first time, that when Imam Ali (as) was being taken back to the home after the stroke, he said to Imam Hasan (as) to,put him on the floor and first clear people out of the way and tell them to go home so they do not hear Sayyeda Zaynab (as) crying.
There is one more thing but the Shaykh did not say it completely, Inshallah I will ask him and post it.....I did not know this and it blew me away, so amazing.

labaikYaZahra reacted to Servidor in Your Own Captured Photos
Thank you. I know - it is so unspeakably beautiful. I could scarcely take a poor picture of this place.
It is in Australia. In New South Wales, a little town in the Upper Hunter valley, in Murra County. Most beautiful place on this island. Cold too. Because we live over four hundred metres above sea-level. Under a mountain. And a mountain chain is fifty or so kilometres across from us as the crow flies. We are encircled by hills so that they funnel in the wind with the taste and touch of snow blown from the face of the mountains.
It snows some times down here as well.
And I can take more.

labaikYaZahra reacted to Nadir in Homeless Man
i finish chocolates in a heartbeat
to avoid my obligation to share
i gave a homeless white guy a kilo of wheat
he asked if i had some change to spare
you can't give a junky something to eat
when he's begging for some "fresh air"
saying no is no mean feat
you have to be aloof if you really care
he says
[Edited Out] you, man
i don't want a sack of grain
give me currency
i say
no, man, i'm not giving you cash
you eat or you starve
either way you won't snort
not by my hand
he says
[Edited Out] you, man
you can't tell me what to do with my life
i say
no, man, i can't
but i care too much to help you die
that's the truth, that ain't no lie
take a shower, shave your beard
i'll buy you a burger and iced tea
he says
[Edited Out] you, man
then i go back home, wherever that is
and i bawl my eyes out
because i just saw another man
die on the street

labaikYaZahra reacted to Al-Mufeed in The Sun And The Moon
Dedicated to Umm Al Baneen - The Mother of Abbas ibn Ali (as) the most loyal supporter of his brother Imam Al Hussain (as) - who gave every thing he had to the extent of his limbs, blood and life for the sake of the pure worship of Allah. May his candle of loyalty and dedication continue to burn eternally.
Fathers breed sons, and mothers do too
So what can I say about a family which bred those two?
One the burning sun at noon day, and the other a moon at its fullest peak
Intertwined forever, two guiding lights for all those who wish to seek
Two sons, two mothers – names are the same
Sons of a sinless father who holds no blame
One the embodiment of servitude to the all mighty lord
The other loyalty personified – his brother’s sharp sword
Two paint brushes on the blood stained canvas of sacrifice and love
Walking paradoxes- warriors more seeped in purity than a white dove
Lions so fearsome, the other lions run in fear
Battle field Artists so skilled, they have no peer
Shoulder to shoulder, Hilt to Hilt
Swords in hand, blood ready to be spilt
Inseparable from birth
Since admission to this earth
The moon stood with his brother
A reflection of his worth
Eyes too impure to see the suns true rays
Sinful glares unable to bare its furious blaze
Its glorious beauty lost on those too blind to gaze
But in the darkness of the blackest night,
The moon stands tall to reflect its light,
The suns beauty refracted for those poor of sight
In the father of virtue, the resplendent Sun found its brilliant Moon
Pure surface to shine its light, so even the hardest hearts could be swoon
On that fateful day Sun and Moon stood hand in hand
The most epic tale of bravery, a righteous last stand
Choosing death and dismemberment over a tyrants demand
All the stars were extinguished on that decisive day
Only two celestial bodies remained after the fray
A mountain in his resolve, that pure moon turned to his brother
He always titled him with master, never anything other
“I grow tired of these hypocrites- I beg you grant me permission”
“I wish to take revenge- by god I will put this army in to remission”
Like a mighty king on his throne he sat on his steed
He wished his master give him respite to accomplish the deed
With tears in his eyes, his brother stared at his beautiful face
“If my standard bearer falls who will save my army from Disgrace?”
The mighty warrior turned left and then he turned right
“Oh my Master– what soldiers do we have left with to fight?
These wicked creatures have killed every pious man in sight”
The scorching heat seared the livers of all that were there
And the pleading cries of the thirsty children soon filled the air
For even the most merciless men – this scene was too much to bear
“Oh my brother do you hear the lamenting of those tiny throats which are arid and dry?
It would make them so elated if they had a drink, could you please go, and give it a try?”
On the fathers tongue eloquence had reached its peak
More than just words- virtue incarnated truly did speak
Passed down was the love of helping those who are weak
Inherited were the blessed traits of defending the meek
All of chivalries goodness and glory was wrapped in to one
All of Bravery and greatness embedded in Abi Turab’s son
He took the water skin with great honor and pride
Letting the banner unfurl – he set out to ride
Oh Yaqub! I implore you this sight you must see
You wept decades for Yusuf – despite his return to thee
Set your eyes on our Yusuf - the chaste son of Ali
Setting out for a journey from which he shall never come back
Marching to sure death in his conviction he does not lack
By god four thousand men tried to stand in his way
Four thousand men! Yet he did not falter or sway
Four thousand men! Yet he did never delay
Cowards -Sheep in men’s clothing they all ran away
Reaching that consecrated river bend he replenished the eager flask
His shriveled and exhausted lips wanted to partake – but alas
He said to himself “Oh my soul what do you think our father will ask?”
“Your master stands awaiting your return and the children are without drink
Quench my thirst with this water – nay by god it is a thought I shall not think.”
Three Days of burning thirst, but what of his magnanimous pride?
A man of his word – to the end he stood by his master’s side.
Faithful to the depths of his soul – he would never abide
Drink while his Imam is thirsty? He would much rather have died.
It was as if all the beauty of this world awaited him in full submission
For what mistress is more alluring than disbudding deaths fruition?
Yet even deaths stupor was unsuccessful to hinder this divine mission
All that men desire stood in the palm of his hand
Tossed away – more worthless than a grain of sand
With the most precious cargo now in his possession
Neither loss of life or limb could cause its concession
Galloping at full speed only one inclination occupied his mind
Nourishing his Master’s camp - to all other things he was blind
This valiant champion was the most dreaded fighter without match
The pigeon hearted enemies full of fear looked for a plan to hatch
Satanic inspired cowardice, they looked for trees on which to latch
Remaining hidden from sight they decided to attack
For those without dignity always strike from the back
They cut off his right arm - and with a great sigh,
He sped up his horse and called out to the sky
“By God even though you have succeeded in severing my right
I shall never relinquish for in defense of certain faith do I fight
My leader is the right one, crystal clear to those with true sight,
Honest and pure, grandson of the noble prophetic light.”
Ignoring the pain He clutched the water skin with his left fist
Unrelenting determination he rode through the battle mist
Another cursed creature came and dismembered his left wrist
His cares were on the water and not his personal immunity
Between himself and the bag there would be no disunity
For his master to drink – this was the very last opportunity
“Oh soul in the face of these faithless wretches show no fear
Oh soul know that the promised mercy of your Lord is near
Soon to be with the prophet whom you hold so very dear”
Using his body to secure the water bag against the horse
He pushed on using his feet to keep the animal on course
A storm of arrows showered upon him but he would not subside
What of courage? - Truly with Al - Abbas did such a virtue reside
He had reached the epitome of fortitude, this cannot be denied.
Then came the unholy emissary, traveling on an arrows tip
Delivering its poisonous message – causing water bag to rip
Tearing apart like the heart of the rider, in fast pace did it drip,
Spilling straight to the ground- nothing was left - not even a sip
What can mend this fissure in a broken heart so deep?
What tormented soul can know of oppression this steep?
A household that receives nothing of this world but to weep
Such severe afflictions that it would cause the skies to turn bleak
By God, if only those burning deserts of Karbbala could speak!
Left without hope – it all drained away in to the sand
Slumped on his horse there was no energy left to stand
Body covered in Arrows and each arm without hand
Too ashamed to face the children without a full water flask
The most loyal of soldiers he would die before failing his task
Oh lion of Haidar surely in eternal glory you shall bask!
In this scene of despair one thing still shone bright
The moon was still able to reflect some of the suns light
The Standard of his master was still in sight!
Never has such gallantry - before or since been seen
Fluttered the auspicious flag of the son of our Queen
With all the energy left in his body on this task he was keen
To keep uplifted the banner of the one true deen
As he turned the horse away from the camp blows rained from every direction
Stones and arrows struck him but he stood firm, in his faith was perfection
Finally came the sweet embrace of death but with very little discretion
An arrow came swiftly and struck him in his most hallowed eye
A blood covered face looking franticly to get away – but nigh!
The final blow came to the back of his head
Any other man in an instant would have been dead
As he fell from his stallion the banner fell through
By God he let his body hit before the banner was slew!
Even to the last second his promise was true
He called out to the camp- from the depths of his soul
“Peace be Upon You Oh Master!”
Always knowing his role
His brother rushed to him – he quickly made haste
Weeping bitterly for all that his brother had faced
“Master why have you troubled yourself in coming here?,
You should have stayed at the camp where the children are near.”
“Oh my brother all my life you have served me, what can I do for you in this state?”
All he wanted was to be able to see his master one last time before he left with fate.
“Clean the blood from my eyes so that I may be able to see your blessed face,
I wish to lay my eyes upon it before I leave this wretched place”
He lovingly did as his brother had petitioned
And he too had something he wanted commissioned
“My dearest brother in all the time of our existence
To calling me other than Master you have shown great resistance
Could you do me the honor of calling me brother?
I beg you please with persistence”
He mustered all his energy in whole,
And called out brother repeatedly till God took his soul.
When the moon fell that day – is it any surprise
That the sun cried out over his brother’s demise?
With no one to reflect his light what’s the point of his continuation
“Brother my Backs broken you were the Salvation”

labaikYaZahra reacted to habib e najjaar in Brothers' Day
On the dusty plains
Of the land of Karb and Balaa’
At the shores of the Euphrates
And the cluster of pitched tents
Three sets of brothers
Will make the ultimate sacrifice
Ali Akbar has said his goodbyes
The likeness of the Prophet will give his blood for truth
The enemy are bewildered as he slices through their ranks
This undaunted lion won’t go down in a duel
By a shower of arrows and a cowardly pack,
The first brother is felled
The land of Taff’ has soaked in the brave brother’s blood
Ali Asghar’s feeble cries are tearing his mother’s heart
She wraps him in a blanket woven with love
And hands him to his father to go beg for the young life
In reply to Ismail’s thirsty cries, zam zam gushed forth
To this parched throat, an arrow made its mark
The fountain of sacrifice gushed forth
The land of Taff’ has soaked in the infant brother’s blood
The paired youths have secured permission
The time has come to prove their faith’s worth
Aun and Muhammad will make Zaynab proud
Like a dance in slow motion, they mesmerize the enemy
Such prowess, such skill
Have Ali the lion and Ja’far the winged
Returned to haunt this field?
Amr steps out of his trance, and says to his men
Bring them down, once and for all
The two flowers of Zaynab are plucked from this earth
The land of Taff’ has soaked in two worthy brothers’ blood
The Hashemite moon sets out with his flag and water skin
The children’s cries of thirst have brought the uncle out
Dazzling the army with his radiant face and sword
Abbas makes it to the shore and fills his bag of love
Worse than quench thirsts, this bag will fulfill a pledge
A shower of arrows is sent to break the trust
The arms are severed to make the flag fall
When the water bag is struck, it is Sukayna’s hope that spills
The flag comes to half mast with the cry of “My Master!”
Husayn runs to the spot where the moon will set
With his last breath, he fulfills another wish
“My Brother!” and the noble son has set forever
The land of Taff’ has soaked in the blood of the loyal brother
The enemies’ drumbeats get more frenzied
And the desert sands kick up a storm
Nature does not wish to witness such atrocity
The son of Ali and Fatimah calls to the truth one last time
Alas! Remembrance is only of benefit to those who believe
With the sword he strikes fear in the enemy camp
It takes a promise of the allure of glittering Rayy
To give courage for the dastardly act
In prostration
Dust and dust meet
With a fatal strike,
Master and Servant meet
The land of Taff’ is now quenched
It has soaked the blood of Hasan’s brother.

Salamu3alaykum
This is a poem I have written I hope you like like, I'm open to any critismsm I'd appreciate your feedback (just be nice :) )
My tears fall from my eyes into an ocean full of more
Tears for my beloved master that died
Died is and understatement !
If they herd the way he was killed they would be in amazement
Of how cruel a person could be
To the one that was dear to me
But not just me many others
Many more father, brothers and mothers
They murder him
They slaughtered him
They thought that they had defeated him
They soon came to know his memory did not die
It was proven to the world that Hussain was the truth and they were a lie !
Hussain may have died but him message survived
After thousands of years his name is still revived
As the one that put Allah (swt) desires above his own
He is hussain he is the truth he is a lantern for all the youth
At the time of his death he was alone
He called out "Is there a helper who would help me?"
There was no answer to his precious call
But now his followers have GROWN
We are here to answer your call oh Hussain!
We are at your service oh my master!
We shout at the top of our voices we are at your service ya hussain!!
We now wait patiently for your grandson al Mahdi to come and take revenge for what happened on those lonely desert plains
SALAWAT! Wasalam

When you put aqiq in sunlight it "energises" and "refreshes" the stone so that it continues to give off its high vibration energy properly. If you wear aqiq you should either wash the stone or put it in sunlight every once in a while to keep the energy flowing optimally.

labaikYaZahra reacted in Let Us Prepare For The Night Of Power!
LET US PREPARE FOR LAYLATUL QADR The Night which could change our Destiny & our LifePart 1 (of 5 parts)
Is there a need to prepare for Lailatul Qadr?
In order to answer this, let us define what the word PREPARE means?
Simply, put it means to make ready or fit, to bring into a suitable state, to make one ready
For e.g. when we want to prepare a meal, or go out for an event, we must have a GOAL in mind.
As in what is my end result, the final dish or my final destination where I wish to end up.
And as per the subject under discussion i.e. "Preparing for Lailatul Qadr " our GOAL is to take full benefit
make full use of the BOUNTIES & RAHMA that Allah (swt) bestows opens us in this night of LAYLATUL QADR.
It is important that we first understand the significance of LAYLATUL QADR in order that we know what sort of
'ingredients' are required for our preparation to reach the Ultimate Goal which is earning the pleasure of Allah (swt)
What is Laylatul Qadr therefore?
You are all aware of its importance so I will just briefly re-run through it
In surah AL Qadr Allah (swt) clearly states: "Surely We revealed it (the Holy Qur'an) on the grand night.
And what will make you comprehend what the grand night. The grand night is better than a thousand months.
The angels and Gabriel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair, Peace! It is till the break of the morning." (97:1-5)
Allah (swt) is inviting all the believers for a Divine feast; the invitation which has been brought by the messengers.
Allah (swt) is the host, his most favourite angels are the servants and the believers are the guests.
The table is spread with Divine blessings containing all sorts of rewards and favours.
Though the eyes cannot see them nor the ears hear them not the human hearts imagine them,
yet the bounties are all kept in readiness to be awarded to the guests in accordance to their actions.
Lailatul-Qadr is a blessed night because the Almighty brings down during it goodness, bliss, and forgiveness for His servants.
It is a feast which has come with a message that shows one the way to achieve happiness in both the worlds.
Laylatul Qadr is a feast for the spirit, a feast of worship and prayers.
Ahadith indicate that the fate of every believer for the coming year is decreed on this night.
When our Prophet (saw) was asked how man could enjoy the favours and good grace of proximity to,
and mercy of, Allah (swt) he quoted Nabi Musa 's supplication:
"Oh My God, I seek proximity to You; He (Allah) said: Proximity to Me is for him who stays awake on Laylatul Qadr
"Oh My God, I am in need of Your Mercy; He said: My Mercy is for him who shows mercy to the poor on Laylatul Qadr
"Oh My God, I am in need of the passport to cross the bridge; He said: that is for him who give alms on Laylatul Qadr
"Oh My God, I am in need of the trees in Paradise and their fruits; He said: that is for him who seeks forgiveness on Laylatul Qadr
"Oh My God, I seek deliverance from fire; He said: that is for him who remembers Allah on Laylatul Qadr
"Oh My God, I seek Your good pleasure; He said: that is for him who sincerely prays a two rakat prayer on Laylatul Qadr
On another occasion Nabi Musa said: "Oh My God, are You far away that I shout to You, or are You near that I whisper to You?
" He said: "O Musa, I am together with you! "

labaikYaZahra reacted to Abu Hadi in Please Help, I Need Your Duaa'
Salam to all,
Just to let everyone know, I have been busy writing the book. With the help of Allah(s.w.a) and the support of my brothers and sisters, InShahAllah I will complete this important project. I have finished some of the introduction and about 1/2 of the first chapter.
Here is the part of the introduction that I have completed.
Jesus in the Quran
By Kassim Smart (Abu Hadi)
Introduction
In The Name of God, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Why I Wrote This book
Knowledge is a trust given by God to mankind. It is the duty of those who were endowed by their Creator with knowledge to use that knowledge in order to benefit their community and humanity as a whole. As a result of my studies and life experiences, I have gained certain knowledge and insights that I feel others can benefit from.
In books written about the religion of Islam, there is a lack of books written in the English Language. Most works are translated from languages such as Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, etc. This is logical since the countries where those languages are spoken are majority muslim countries. At the same time, in recent years there has been a great interest in learning about Islam from people whose native tongue is English. While there are some very good translators who do their utmost to capture both the meaning and the flow of the original text, the end result is still lacking either in meaning or beauty of the language. So my intention in writing this book is to attempt to 'fill the gap' in works in English on Islamic subjects that the reader may find interesting
There is an extreme amount of misunderstanding amoung Christians regarding the position of the Quran vis a via Jesus (peace be upon him). Most Christians think that Muslims do not care for or respect Jesus(peace be upon him). This is, in fact, not the case. Islam is the only other religion, besides Christianity that makes it a requirement of faith to believe in Jesus as a prophet sent by God to guide mankind to the truth. It is also a requirement of the faith of Islam to believe in the sinless nature of Jesus, to believe in his virgin birth, and to venerate and respect his mother, Mary(peace be upon her) as one of the holiest women of all time. These tenants of the Muslim faith regarding Jesus and his mother Mary(peace be upon both of them) are based in the Holy Quran.
At the same time, the religion of Islam is very clear that Jesus(peace be upon him) was fully human and not divine in any way. This is because the central pillar of the Muslim faith is absolute oneness and unity of God. This concept is called 'Tauhid' in Arabic and it is the most commonly referenced concept in the Holy Quran and the central belief held by every muslim, whether Sunni, Shia, or Sufi. The concept of Tauhid precludes God being divided into any parts or sections including a trinity or duality (as some Non Christian religions teach).
According to Islam, Jesus was one of the five Great Prophets who were sent with Divine Revelation in written form and who worked miracles by the permission of God. Muslims believe that Jesus cured the lepars, raised the dead, caused food to descend from heaven, and worked many other miracles all with God's permission. He did these things as a full human being who was sent by God to this earth with a certain mission to fulfill and was given these abilities in order to carry out that mission. These abilities did not originate with Jesus, but were given to him by God just a we are given our more mundane but nevertheless miraculous abilities of sight, hearing, and speech. This is the position of Islam which I will more fully explain in the following chapters.
Common terms used in this book and their definitions
'Allah' and ‘God’
(s.w.a) means Subhana was Taa’la. As muslims, we are required to put this after the name of Allah(s.w.a). The approximate meaning in English is ‘Highly Elevated is He’.
The word ‘God’ with a capital ‘G’ in English is the word that most closely approximates the meaning of Allah(s.w.a). In the book, I will be using these words interchangeably.
The word ‘Allah’ is an Arabic word. It is composed of the definite article ‘Al’, equivalent to ‘The’ in English, plus ‘ilah’, which means ‘God’. In Arabic, when you have the letter combination ‘l’ + ‘i’ + ‘l’. the ‘i’ is dropped and ‘Al’ + ‘ilah’ becomes ‘Allah’. So the literal English equivalent of ‘Allah’ is ‘The God’ or the one and only God. The word ‘God’ in English is a proper noun referring to a specific entity just as ‘Allah’ is a proper noun in Arabic.
Islam
The word ‘Islam’ means the act of submitting to the will of Allah(s.w.a). It is closely related to two other words in Arabic ‘Islah’ which means to set things aright and ‘Salam’ which means peace. So the connotative meaning would be that Islam is an act which requires submitting to the will of Allah and the result of that would be peace and things being set aright. The ‘will of Allah’ is defined in the Quran and also by example thru the actions of Prophet Muhammad(p.b.u.h) and his successors which were appointed by Allah(s.w.a).
Muslim
The word ‘muslim’ is derived from the word ‘Islam’. It means a person who submits themselves to the will of Allah(s.w.a).
Christian
The group of people who consider themselves to be followers of the teachings of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), believe that the Bible, in its entirety, is the word of God, and do not accept Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) as a Prophet sent by God.
The Bible
A book which Christians believe to be the word of God. Its first Chapter is Genesis and its last Chapter is Revelations.
The Taurat
The book of Divine revelation sent by Allah(s.w.a) to Prophet Moses(peace be upon him) in its original and unaltered form.
The Zaboor
The book of Divine revelation sent by Allah(s.w.a) to Prophet David(peace be upon him) in its original and unaltered form.
The Injeel
The book of Divine revelation sent by Allah(s.w.a) to Prophet Jesus(peace be upon him) in its original and unaltered form.

labaikYaZahra reacted to Praetorius in A Lesson In Humility
(salam)
As most of you know, I made a thread some time ago about my brother being diagnosed with cancer. I also updated you guys on his successful surgery. Once again, thank you all for your prayers.
During the 3-4 weeks before his surgery, my family donated a substantial amount of sadaqah, had meat slaughtered to distribute among the poor. In the past month, it struck me that somehow I take Allah's Mercy for granted.
I mean, one minute our all-too-happy lives are fine and well, the next we land in a major crisis and are scrambling around to do acts that will please Allah more so He may lift from us the burden. Why is it that people like me only remember Allah in times of desperation? Don't get me wrong, I pray 5 times a day and I've abstained from all the major vices etc. But, why the sudden religiosity in bad times?
I've learned this lesson, that one should always be aware of the innumerable Mercies of Allah SWT, and how He continually protects us from danger and harm. I thought I'd share it because I don't want any of you to fall into such a mess and realize before it's too late.
Inshallah you all be well, and Shahre Ramadhan Kareem!

labaikYaZahra reacted to wayfarer. in Don't Underestimate The Evil Of Backbiting
quoting this from an interesting post i had come across long ago :
I’m sure you are all familiar with the tragedy of Karbala but to sum up, this is where Yazid ibn Mu’awiyah ordered the execution of Imam Hussain (as) the father of Zain ul Abideen (as). This is where Yazid starved his family for 3 days, dismembered and mutilated their bodies, put them on spears, trampled on their corpses with the hooves of their steeds, where the tents were set alight and burned with the women and children of Zain ul Abideen’s family and companions resided.
Instead of giving water to a thirsty, hungry 6 month old baby that Zain ul Abideen’s father held, pleading Yazids army to give it some water and have mercy on the child who has done nothing wrong, rejected. Instead, he gave the baby an arrow through the neck. Yazid was an eloquent man and was famous for his poetry. He made a poem about Kerbala, poking the decapitated head of Zain ul Abideen’s father with a stick, playing with his lips and reciting his lines, “If only my ancestors were here to see this.”
This is the man that Yazid was. This is what Yazid did to Zain ul Abideen’s father and family.
A man once came to Zain ul Abideen (as) later in his life and asked him the Imam, what do you think of Yazid?
Do you know what Zain ul Abideen said? He did not retaliate, he did not curse him, he did not even show dislike for him.
Zain ul Abideen said “He was a good poet.”
Read that again, imagine this was your father, what would you say to someone who asked what do you think about the man who ordered all these atrocities upon your Father and family? Could you reply in a way that Zain ul Abideen replied?
We cannot touch Zain ul Abideen’s morality, he is on another level from people like us, there is a reason they called him “The beauty of the believers.”
This one sentence of Zain ul Abideen made me realise what it means to be a Muslim.
How often do we slander other people for what they did to us? How often would we rather rip our own hair out before even thinking about forgiving someone who wronged us?
Subhan’Allah, look at this man, a moral mountain for humanity that cannot be moved. It makes you think if a man can have this much composure and understanding then imagine the one who created this man. Subhan’Allah, subhan’Allah, subhan’Allah.
How often do we look at the glass half empty as Muslims? Looking down on other people, reverts, non muslims, sunni’s, shia’s, sufi, whatever our “enemy” sect happens to be.
The glass is never half empty as a Muslim brothers and sisters, it is always half full. In fact let’s take it a step further, the glass is always full because alhamdulillah, there is water and air in the glass ;) This is what Islam is about, optimism, giving people the benefit of the doubt, mercy, love, equality.
May Allah grant us the composure, the compassion, the modesty, the understanding and the love Zain ul Abideen had for all of mankind.

"By him who split up the seed and created something living, the Apostle (may peace and blessing be upon him) gave me a promise that no one but a believer would love me, and none but a hypocrite would nurse grudge against me'.
Sahih Muslim, English version, Chapter XXXIV, p46, Tradition #141
Its is little wonder that we have the testimony of Abu Saeed al Khudri:
"We recognized the hypocrites by their hatred of Ali."

MOST CERTAINLY! Chrome is the BEST browser for iOS. What you can do for Chrome is to go on that setting option (I don't mean the setting but the three lines, hard to describe it with one word) and choose "Request Desktop Version". Like I have said, that does it when I can't open Facebook Mobile on Chrome, although it doesn't really open the Desktop version of Facebook and still gives the mobile version but, at least, it gets rid of the white screen.

labaikYaZahra reacted to Ya Aba 3abdillah in Make Up During Ramadan
If there's something you're afraid of doing in Shahr Ramadhan, then you really shouldn't be doing it in any other month either.
