Let me make it even more clear.

    1) Yes, as it has been reported our beloved prophet (saws) cried for Imam Husayn.

    2) No, it was not reported that he use to do this each year.

    3) During his lifetime, our beloved lost some closest companions, including hz Hamza, and hz Jafar ibn Abu Talib. IT WAS NOT reported that he mourn for them month or 40 days, and IT WAS not reported that he mourn for them each year.

I strongly believe that NONE from modern day shias loves hz Husayn more than he was beloved by his great grandfather, prophet Muhammad (saws). If keeping 40 days each year as a mourning, making majalis that time, beating chests, and etc would be recommended practise, Prophet (saws) without any doubt would do that in the very first place, to show example to his nation. I will leave aside so

me lunatics that believe that Allah himself first made matam, or made marsiyah for hz Husayn. I hope, here at this forum, I am not amongst such lunatics.

Yes, read the life of sayidina Husayn, take examples from his life. Try to live like he did. Cry if you can cry due to his brutal murder. But don't violate sunnah of his grandfather. I remember when at my job place, one scotich guy tried to mock me by saying that he seen these shia matams and self flagelations. He thought that - may Allah forbids, all muslims acting in this way. It took some time to explain him that these acts are not from Islam, and actually been condemned by our beloved prophet (saws).

While talking about majalis and azadaris, Mutahhari said:

How many legends have been fabricated by us Shi'is about Amir al Mu'minin 'Ali, many Peace be upon him!

Brother, one must realise that shias get their hadith from the imams as well. They have clearly stated that crying for imam husayn carries great reward. And only crying for him is allowed.

The prophet (s) would not make this news open in his life time. Some things aren't told to everyone until it takes place. And prophet who would know the details of that event can cry over it before hand unlike anyone.

Satan wasn't openly cursed either, not until he did the deed. This is just an analogy to help you understand.

Anyway as for self flagellation, it has no part in sunnah of the imams either.

But the Islamic shria needs definite proof to ban something and consider it haram.

The jaloos and events where zanjeer zani takes place or that of 'jalsa' what are the islamic rulings on how to demonstrate in a jalsa?

But then again this thread was for matam and not blood letting.

I don't disagree that Kaaba would be holier than Medinah... but while karbala is holy because of the shrine of Imam Hussein (ra), Medinah has more reasons including the most important one that Prophet's (saw) shrine is there, the ayahs of Quran if were revealed in Layla tul Qadr then the ayahs of Quran were revealed in Medinah too.

the question was reward of sunnah vs that of wajib. Some sunni brothers just cant wrap their head around the reward of ziyaarah being so much, and then why would anyone do hajj. i Just pointed them to something similar that they themselves believe in. To help them understand.

As for a place being Holy,

Why do we do saee, why are safa and marwa holy?

why is masjid al aqsa holy?

karbla is also one of those important lands where many things happened, like the birth of isa(as) according to shia traditions,

The place where the leader of all those in paradise was martyred, in order to save islam. All Muslims visit Makkah and Madinah. But Mostly the shias visit Shrine of imam Hussain as. It has become a place which still differentiates truth from falsehood, spreads the message of islam. That could be among the reasons why it is more sawab to visit kerbala.

The shrine of Muhammad (saw) "in Madinah" certainly makes Madinah more holy

Kabah is the house of God, makes it more Holy.

But then again as a Land if traditions say Karbala is more Holy then it is. If it says madinah is then it is. I don't question the word of the prophet. I remember reading kerbala is the holiest land. I might be wrong.

Anyway that is not even the point.

  4. Not someone, many many people tell you that china exists. You would be stupid to not believe them.

And lets say if you dont go to china you will suffer for eternity. Would you not take the path to china?

Likewise over the years so many prophets came and mystics that say God exists. We have 'seen'.

So take the path to God, and when you reach the end you will find Him. I assure you.

A genuine Arif with the permission of Allah can have access to the hidden knowledge of Allah and can be able to foretell the future. And we have significant numbers of such personalities among Sunni and Shiites.

How can both be Arif, why dont they convert to either of the one sect. They both meet the prophet (s) and the imams (as). Then how can we say the others are wrong?

  7. Try to understand the words you say during prayers. Humble yourself and even try to cry(be it pretentious at first- it will come naturally afterwards) by thinking of the magesty of God and your lowliness and sins and reflect afterwards. It will soften your heart and would let wisdom in.

Read the first two volumes of Al Kafi. It will help your belief and faith in God, the prophet (s) and the aimah (as).

We're not talking about the poor bedouin that just strolled into Madinah brother. We are talking about the head honchos of the tribe that ruled the city. They were not simpletons and they were not overpowered into anything.

Again study the people of bani isreal, how many trails they went through. They also had a prophet teaching over them.

They weren't over powered, they just went with the follow of what hastily happened at saqifa(planned by the Genius minds who wantes power). Just like the ummah of Musa(as). This ummah did the exact same thing. Even there was a imam among them, yet still.

Any people who object on such petty things as usamah being the commander as being young is not fit on the order ofthe prophet or not bring a pen and paper and make noises while prophet is in asking for it are simple people who have little marifat on the prophet,

I don't think they did. Al Samiri was able to entice the people with magic. All Abu Bakr (ra) said was, "The ruler should be from Quraish." Not much of an argument against a group of power hungry heretics, according to the Shia narrative.

    On whom does magic work?

I am not even sure if that 'magic' was even something too much that can't be denied by a intelligent mind. It wad just a cow from whom voice came. Tell me would ypu believe that cow is Allah?

So basically samiri confused the simple people into believing that Allah is the cow nauzubilllah.

And you don't expect the normal masses to do the same all over again -(quran is there to show the mentality of people), when they found out someone else(because of being power hungry heretic) became a caliph. Their simple minds just followed what they were told.

Bad mothers who will be in PARADISE with your father? Well this is what Ammar bin Yasir said, because he knew that this glad-tiding was given to Prophet(saws) via Wahy.

Should we look, when Ali himself has judged in this matter? That too in Mutawattir hadeeth.

Btw, food for thought is that, only the best ones are compared with each other. By comparing them you are indirectly proving that they were from the best ones in this Ummah,

Sure she goes to heaven, God is the best judge, doesn't change a thing. it is forbidden to slander the wife of the prophet (s)

    mutawattir form your sources.

Ali(as) is better then you, he used to never skip tahjjud, fought in battles, was martyered. does that mean you are at his level too? funny.

No one needed comparing prophet himslef showed if abu bakr and umar cant conquer a simple fort. how do you expect them to lead the Muslim ummah. Whatever he did had reason behind it,

  11. 15 minutes ago, AbbaJaan said:

Are you talking about this Ammar bin yasir ?

“On the day of the camel(jamal), Ammar [Ibn Yassir] saw a congregation, so he asked: ‘What is this?’So it was said to him: A man who curses Aaishah and reviles her.’ So he(Ammar) went to him and said: ‘Shut up ! You are rebuked and you are refuted ! Do you revile the Habibah (the beloved one) of the Prophet (pbuh) ? Indeed she is his wife in Paradise”.(Hadeeth No. 1647, Fadha’il Al-Sahabah by Imam Ahmad, authenticated by Shaykh Al-Muhaddith Wasiyullah Al-’Abbas Al-Hindi ).

Comment: We find that the true Shia of Ali, Ammar bin Yassir(ra) wasn’t able to tolerate Mother of believers Ayesha(as) being reviled by an evil Rafidi, He harshly rebuked him and informed him about the true status of Ayesha(as).

    Or this Abu Dharr?

[abu `Ali al-Husayn ibn `Ali al-Naysaburi (Thiqah Hafiz) -> `Abdan abu Ahmad al-Ahwazi (Thiqah Hafiz) -> Haroun ibn Ishaq al-Hamdani (Thiqah Hafiz) -> abu Khalid al-Ahmar (Saduq Qarib min al-Thiqah) -> Hisham ibn al-Ghazi bin Rabee`ah (Thiqah) & Muhammad ibn `Ajlan al-Qurashi (Saduq) & Muhammad bin Ishaq bin Yasar (Saduq Shi`ee Mudallis) -> Makhoul al-Shami (Thiqah Faqih) -> Ghudayf bin al-Harith (Tabi`ee Thiqah)

From abu Dharr (ra): A young boy passed by `Umar so `Umar said: “Such a good young boy.” abu Dharr followed the boy and said: “Young lad, ask Allah to grant me his forgiveness!” The boy replied: “O aba Dharr, I ask for your forgiveness when you are the companion of the messenger of Allah (saw)!?” abu Dharr insisted and repeated his request: “Ask for my forgiveness.” so the boy refused and said: “Would you tell me why?” abu Dharr explained, he said: “You passed by `Umar may Allah be pleased with him and he said: Such a good young boy. And I had heard the messenger of Allah (saw) saying: Allah has placed the truth on `Umar’s tongue and in his heart.”(Mustadrak al-Hakim).

Comment: As the reader can see, Abu Dharr(ra) the True Shia of Ali, was from those who held `Umar (ra) in the greatest esteem, he had much respect and loyalty for him, so when he saw him praise the young boy (who is Ghudayf ibn al-Harith), he hurriedly followed and asked this blessed child to make Du`a for him. Although, if we assume he was an “Imami Rafidhi”, he would have only asked `Ali (ra) as they believe he holds the keys of heaven and hell.

True, i totally agree, here is another example of those who followed.

    we read:

Abu al-Qassim al-Balkhi said: A questioner asked Shareek bin `Abdullah bin abi Nimr: ” Who is best, Abu Bakr or `Ali?” he replied: “Abu Bakr.” The questioner asked: “You say this and you’re from the Shia!?” He said: “Yes, a (true) Shia would only say this. By Allah `Ali said: The best of this nation after its Prophet is Abu Bakr then `Umar. Do you expect us to accuse him(Ali) of lying? By Allah he was no liar!”(Minhaj al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah 1/13).

And on to the next topic... And the next.. completely missng the points..

As for what Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir said, i agree with it. Even tho its from the sunni hadith,

With All due respect she is the umm ul momineen. But yes we can have bad mothers. We still respect them as its our part to do.

Funny you bring traditions(always trying to prove Abu bakr and umar better, what other options did they even have to justify everything) from 'your' books to prove a point to 'me', so it has come to this..

What being described for umar bring the quality of Hazrat Abu zarr himself. Interesting.

The usual Abu bakr is better then Ali (as)..

    Try to look at fact,

Look at all the wars with the Prophet

Look at a Khyber. Abu bakr and umar being so nosy always got their chance. Still retreated. Only then Ali(as) was sent who never turns back until he wins or is slain while fighting. The difference is clear. Just words dont work.

We have traditions who say Ali(as) is better then everyone.. yours say otherwise. Which arr usually forcefull.

Like hussan and hussain being the master of all the youths. Abu bakr and umar of the adults .-.

Or ali being the gate of the city of knowledge and abu bakr bring the ciels or window or whatever i heard from the sunnis.

Anywho May Allah Guide us All. And we all leave our pride and our love for people that is there because of pride. And love the truth. Ameen.

  12. 1 hour ago, AbbaJaan said:

You have missed the gist of the question I made, where did this group fight with the apostates?

{“O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion(Islam), Allah will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers, fighting in the way of Allah, and never afraid of the blame of the blamers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allah is All-sufficient for His creature’s needs, All-Knower”}. (Quran 5:54).

And Ironically those who fought alongside Ali, majority of them believed in Imamah of those before him.

And you missed all the points in my post. I see this as a useless exercise now.

Jihad e akbar. Its the answer to your question.

Then well later on(for your satisfaction) you can see true Muslims fighting as well against the by products of saqifa at karbala.

Or the place where Hazrat Ammar yasir was killed by thr group on the wrong.

Or Abu zarr who was exiled

Yeah those who fought 'alongside' Ali (as) and those who 'followed' Ali(as) - BIG DIFFERENCE.

  13. 25 minutes ago, AbbaJaan said:

But didn't Allah say that:  {“O you who believe!

Who fought these people that turned away from religion and started worshiping Abu bakr? Didn't Allah fulfil his promise Ma'azAllah?

If you think that these people repented later then that's not the case we read:

The classical Shia scholar al-Shareef al-Murtada (d.436 AH) says in his book “al-Shafi fil-Imamah” 3/113:

ومعلوم أن جمهور أصحابه وجلهم كانوا ممن يعتقد إمامة من تقدم عليه ع وفيهم من يفضلهم على جميع الأمة

[And it is known that the vast majority of his (`Ali’s) companions used to believe in the Imamah of those who preceded him (meaning the first three), and among them were those who favored them over the entire nation.]

Yes Allah promised that if they all apostated he will bring better people. And he indeed did and keep bringing them. Unfortunately always the righteous were less. You will find that theme in the Quran more then anywhere.

Sahih al-Bukhari Hadith: 8.584 Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "Some of my companions will come to me at my Lake Fount, and after I recognize them, they will then be taken away from me, whereupon I will say, ‘My companions!’ Then it will be said, ‘You do not know what they innovated (new things) in the religion after you.”(also Sahih Muslim, part 15, pp 53-54)

    Sahih al-Bukhari Hadith: 8.586
Narrated Ibn al-Musaiyab: "Some men from my companions will come to my Lake-Fount and they will be driven away from it, and I will say, ‘O Lord, my companions!’ It will be said, ‘You have no knowledge of what they innovated after you left: they turned APOSTATE as renegades (reverted from true Islam)." (also Sahih Muslim, part 10, p64, also P59)

The case of companions being settled,

Didn't the ummah of Musa(as) sacrifice? Didn't they turn away? Those who came back from baqra to haroon they were lucky. But those who didn't. Sedly.

The Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “I wish I could see my brothers, (the Companions said) aren’t we your brothers O Prophet of Allah? He replied: No, you are my Companions. My brothers are those who come after me and believe in me without seeing me.” (Ahmed, sahih)

Apparently their faith was 40 times of that of companions, again from your hadiths

My point being, its self explanatory :3
