  7. That's good to hear. I have also been asked that the CISS are also looking for people willing to translate articles (Arabic, French, Farsi, etc). If anyone is then send a message to the e-mail above.
  8. (salam) The Centre for Islamic Shia Studies has recently launched it's new webiste: http://www.shiastudies.org/ With this new website they have created an info portal on Shia Islam written in an academic manner. http://www.shiastudies.org/shiapedia I have found it to be very good as it contains articles that spread all over Shia Islam and is split into 3 sections: beginners, intermediate and advanced. I have talked to those who are working at the CISS and they have asked for those that do read the articles and find any mistakes to send them to info@shiastudies.org . They have also mentioned that those who wish to contribute with new articles and other content that they feel is missing then they are welcome to do so and can also send them to the e-mail above. (wasalam)
  9. (salam) The Centre for Islamic Shi'a Studies held it's first book launch on Wednesday 29th February 2012 at the Brunei Gallery, SOAS in London to launch 'The Shia of Samarra' a book published by IB Tauris, based on the proceedings of the 2009 conference on Samarra: Heritage and History. Talks by book editor Imranali Panjwani, CISS Director Sayyid Fadhil Bahrululoom and a lecture by Dr Andrew Newman of the University of Edinburgh. Video of the launch can be seen here: The book is available from all major bookshops and amazon - http://www.amazon.co...y/dp/1848857799 They have also posted a 30% discount flyer to get 30% RRP - http://shiastudies.o...rra%20flyer.pdf In my opinion an amazing book that has really helped solidify the view that Samarra was originally a Shia majority town with Shia compromising 50%-75% of the population even before Mirza Shirazi moved the Hawza there. InshAllah we all benefit from such an amazing book! (wasalam)
