Americans: The 2nd Amendment advocates gun control
David66 replied to notme's topic in Politics/Current Events
Hello, Sorry to re-appear but I could not help myself. Once again an American liberal has fallen prey to fake news. While even one school shooting is too many, the info Notme posted is false. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/no-there-havent-been-18-school-shooting-in-2018-that-number-is-flat-wrong/2018/02/15/65b6cf72-1264-11e8-8ea1-c1d91fcec3fe_story.html?utm_term=.64921f4ffecd All the Best, David- 69 replies

Hello, Not a single rebuke from fellow Shia Chat members or Edits from Shia Chat Moderators? But, to date, there are two likes? This post clearly violates Shia Chat rule number 4, No swear words, unmannered replies or racist comments, especially when directed at other members. A warning followed by a temporary ban shall be met. If a member repeats their offensive or racist language, a permanent ban will take place. No excuses. Overt slogans of "death" or "destruction" (or similar wording) of any specific government, nation, people, group, or religion is not permitted. Howeve

[Closed/Review]Hugh Hefner (pornographer) has died
David66 replied to David66's topic in Politics/Current Events
Hello, But, you did not clearly show which were your words and which were mine. At this point, only you and I know for certain. Therefore, it is not a proper edit. As Gaius I. Caesar said above, "do I honestly need to spoonfeed this to you?" All the Best, David -

David66 replied to David66's topic in Politics/Current Events
Hello, lol, that is the definition of edit. When editing, it is common etiquette to note what is edited, who did the editing and why. Oh? While I am not comparing the two, we can have multiple mutah post each week but the mention of Hugh Hefner passing is too "adult" in nature? All the Best, David -
[Closed/Review]Hugh Hefner (pornographer) has died
David66 replied to David66's topic in Politics/Current Events
Hello, Because it is a current event and this is the current event section of Shia Chat. For better or worse, Hugh Hefner was an iconic figure. I tragic figure in my opinion. Despite his wealth and fame and party lifestyle it seems he never found happiness. A lesson for us all I think. Also, if web site admin wants to delete the post then do so. But, unilateral editing of my post smacks of third world level censorship. All the Best, David -

Hello, This is interesting. "Earthquake In North Korea Sets Off Alarm And Speculation" (23 September, 2017, The Two Way) http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/09/23/553127805/earthquake-in-north-korea-sets-off-alarm-and-speculation Yet, both China and South Korea are saying it was not triggered by a nuclear detonation. I think something major has occurred inside North Korea's test facility. All the Best, David

Hello, Do you think this is possible in the Middle East? All the Best, David

Hello, How can one justify promoting a Palestinian State while advocating against a Kurdish State? The British and the French have been blamed for almost 100 years for dividing up the Middle East along somewhat arbitrary lines after World War I and the fall of the Ottoman Empire. But now, when an ethnic group whats to reverse this and regain control of their native land they are met with resistance by State's that have pointed their finger at Britain and France for years. Hello, I ask this not because I want to create a kerfuffle. But, because I am trying to better understand Muslims. What references can you site for the above views? And, Why would Allah care about such a thing? All the Best, David

^ Hello, Maybe Hillary. Since no Clintons are in office, they have shut down their "Pay for Play Foundations." http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/jan/16/clinton-global-initiative-lays-off-22-as-donations/ And, Bill is not getting the $750,000 speaking fees he was used to when a lot of the World thought Hillary would be the next President of the USA. So, Hillary is know out peddling her "why I lost" book to pay the bills. All the Best, David

Hello, I am not justifying anything. However, the general news narrative is the Rohingya Muslims were a peaceful group minding their own business. And, they were pounced upon by evil bloodthirsty Hindus. When ever I see such "good versus evil" journalism I do a little investigating. I think Aang San Suu Kyi view is obvious. She does not believe Muslims and Hindus can live together in the Rakhine State. Therefore, she is ignoring the atrocities that are occurring during their removal. All the Best, David

Why not Ziyarah to Masjid al Aqsa?

Why not Ziyarah to Masjid al Aqsa?
David66 replied to Mansur Bakhtiari's topic in General Islamic Discussion
Hello, Israel does not stamp passports. You receive a little piece of paper showing you have passed through customs. It is not hard for Muslims to go to Israel. But, it depends on what passport you hold. A Muslim with an American passport does not need a visa. They can go whenever they want. A Christian from Iran would need a visa and might not receive one. As mentioned, the area is historical to all three Abrahamic religions. But, at the moment, only Muslims have free access. I was somewhat lost in the Old City and was approaching a "Muslim Only" gate. Hello, @hasanhh What is "CNOCC?" All the Best, David -
Hello, Thanks to everyone for the responses, very informative. It seems Shia Muslims have a very progressive view regarding birth control. I see one Sunni responded and was against birth control. Do Shia Muslims practice this behavior? And, is the Sunni view versus Shia view accurate? All the Best, David

Hello, Sorry to ruin your World view Faruk, Myanmar working with China, Russia, to avoid UN rebuke over persecution of Muslims (Business Insider, 09/06/17) http://www.businessinsider.com/myanmar-working-with-china-russia-to-avoid-un-rebuke-over-persecution-of-muslims-2017-9 "We are negotiating with some friendly countries not to take it to the Security Council," he said. Hello, I read articles such as this, "A disaster in the making, Pakistan's population surges to 207.7 million" (The Washington Post, 9 September 2017) https://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/world/asia_pacific/a-disaster-in-the-making-pakistans-population-has-more-than-doubled-in-20-years/2017/09/08/4f434c58-926b-11e7-8482-8dc9a7af29f9_story.html And, we see mass migrations from Muslim countries to the West as they look for opportunities. Opportunities that, in many cases, do not exist in their native country due, in part, to overpopulation. So, I am curious, what is th
