I wanna get married because it's part of Islam. Its half the faith and when you revert the last thing you wanna do is play games. I'm naturally a strong man and feel I need something to take care of and protect or I feel lost. Nothing more beautiful al hamdu lilaah to see two people really in it for the right reasons. Specially in today's world where the women grow more independent and the men still out there going from person to person no one wants to commit. No one appreciates the marriages that last 40-80 years long. No one sees that no more. We need to bring that back.
Why I would make a good husband? Allah knows best. When you see all the wrong choices in ya life it's not too hard to see the right ones.

To be honest, the only important question is "Are you willing to live by the Quran and Sunnah?". Everything else of importance will flow from that.

Some people are in love and can't help it, and for the sake of not sinning they both enter into this until they are able to get married permenantly....So it's not always about mind games....Some people just don't like sinning.
I think there's different ways of looking at it and it comes down to why a couple enter into this
And men are not the only ones who enjoy sexual intercourse...So the tem "Sex Slave" can be applied to both people in this case

I don't know if its a joke or if there is a real hadith out there but the story goes like this:
A vendor was having a hard time selling his stock of rotting onions. So he contacted Abu Huraira for some help. The eminent Companion crafted a hadith for him, with impeccable chain of narrators, narrating that the Prophet had said: "Verily Allah loves whosoever loves onions and verily He will forget the sins of onion-eaters on the Day of Judgment." Hearing this hadith people rushed to the vendor's stall and hey presto all his stock of onions was sold.
On comparison, I wonder how many women made themselves available for mutah on hearing the quoted hadith.

I always laugh out loud whenever I read this. I'm not saying I agree or disagree, I'm neutral, but just by reading this, I can almost depict the angel descending, strumming a lyre, and harmonizing these words. It cracks me up even harder. Don't ask.
I understand the reasonings of both oppositions here, I can relate to both. I just don't see how the term 'slave' is applicable to a woman who does Mut'ah, because there's no relation whatsoever. Unless you mean that a man married to a permanent wife can also contract a temporary marriage at the same time, just the way you can do it with a slave girl. But men can still contract a temporary marriage with a free woman, so what's the point of using the word 'slave', in the first place? Unless I'm missing something?
My senses are tingling, telling me that there is some literalism going on with team Haydar.
I'd just like to add, I find it highly absurd that a woman who is married permanently is disallowed from contracting temporary marriage at the same time, but it's permissible for men. There is no rational reason for this. If there is, then please do enlighten me, otherwise I see it as a form of stripping women from their freedom and rights.

No one is actually condemning the act itself but the way its been used is the problem. why is it so hard for men to believe or accept that mutta benefits them more than it can possibly benefit any woman? majority of women dont like mutta not bcos its halaal but bcos in many cases it can bring them no good whatsoever. its a natural feeling for any woman to have the desire to be a mother and a wife i mean a proper wife here. what can a mutta 'husband' bring her...? as soon as the contract is finished she's left with nothing but on the other side the man got everything and can jump into the next one any minute. is this too hard to understand LOL

I didn't condemn it....if you knew me well (which none of you know me well) you would know that I don't care if people contract mut3a or not. What I am always angry about are abuses and that people say there aren't any abuses. As another member on here always says...there is more to it than halal or haram.
Did I ever say there aren't any abuses in permanent marriage? There are tons! But you find the complaints about these abuses more often in the mut3a threads...so it appears that I am singling out mut3a to you.

I'm not talking about Mut'ah per se, i'm talking about the disgraceful neutral attitude that is given for a man hypothetically contracting 80 mut'ah contracts successively.

Umm why do u girls take mutah so offensively, did you ever consider that may be our Imam might have done mutah in this time of ghaibah or any of the 12 Imams A.S. You put it like its a sin and a Zulm on the woman and is being done without her choice involved. Mutah is a Marriage... just like the perm marriage, and so shud be respected like one. Marriage is an Ibadat (in my personal view) it takes you near to Allah swt. So is mutah.
*in a very friendly tone* Please, Dont call a wife in Mutah a rented wife, or else a perm wife can be called a slave in life time bondage. U dont know a girl might have done muta and her doing mutah was accepted as an act of peity and taqwa and for Allah it was accepted as an Ibadat.
on a different note: I have never heard that a mutah wife has any conjugal rights, neither man nor woman has any conjugal rights in Mutah cos mutah can be done for other purposes besides "conjuglations". the four months thing you mentioned is for perm wife only.
If he wont give her the time back, then she will remain a wife for three weeks, after that she is again single, why make it a sad soap scene by saying "Allah help her" as if she is left in the middle of sahara with no water for life.
didnt knew about the NO Iddah thing, can you post a reference please. (Not doubting you, just want to confirm)
    Gothic...

There you go with this talk of subjectivity and cultural preconceptions, i've given my reasons based on the Quran's advice to stop being attatched to this temporary life; this attatchment includes an unhealthy fixation on grabbing ladies to fill up your hypothetical harem. Read 3:15 which I quoted, I just fail to see where circumstances can 'necessitate' consummating a mut'ah contract with 78 women without it being a revolting sexual appetite which the Quran wants to keep us away from.
Ironic how people on shiachat worship bhooka-trademarked hadiths and turn a blind eye to the conjunctions of the Quran, wallahi...

Wow, i've wondered : is there anyone who can confirm whether these ...errm...'narrations' are strong or unreliable? Kinda shocking that Imam Ja'far Al-Sadiq would say such a thing.

Why do you always drop lines like that?
Its about the value of woman, she aint a slave girl in this case , shes more like a sex slave.
But if these sister understood that their selling themself when they say those words then maybe they wouldnt enter it.
But if the man plays with her head and makes her think its equal to a perm marriage then it aint her fault and in her head she thinks her value is the same as a normal wife.

mut3a is allowed...but not mandatory, it is a choice and has nothing to do with picking and choosing
hence if a woman doesn't want to be lowered to the status of a slave she shouldn't contract mut3a
yes it is insulting to be lowered to the status of a slave

So basically when a free muslim woman contracts mut3a she is reducing herself to the status of a slave.
    THANKS BUT NO THANKS
And some men on here wonder why they can't find a woman to contract mut3a with.

Yeah that is what I was thinking....you don't need a psycho ex wife taking her anger out on you over child custody issues. Too much headache!
I think they have 3 weeks left into the marriage from what I understand....and he isn't having contact with her. This is not fair....he should end the marriage early so she can start her iddah right away .
