@Truth1234: I didn't trust your motives from the off on this thread, it smells of a cack-handed way of denigrating Maula Ali (as). So I clicked on the link you provided and look what I stumbled upon:
    - Abu Bakr:
"He was white-skinned, skinny, with thin cheeks. He had a wrinkly face, deepset eyes, a protruding forehead, and he would dye his beard with henna and oil it."
"He was white or yellow-skinned, handsome, with thin legs. His izar would not stay firmly tied around his waist."
    2 - 'Umar bin al-Khattab:
"He was white-skinned, leaning towards redness. He was tall, balding, and had white hair around his head."
"He was very tall, and extemely bald. He had reddened skin, thin cheeks, and the edges of his mustache were long and dark red."
"He would walk so fast that it was as if he was riding a horse while those around him were walking."
"He used to dye his hair with henna."
    3 - 'Uthman bin 'Affan:
"He was not tall or short. He had a handsome face, a long beard, dark skin, wide shoulders, and he would dye his hair with saffron. He would cap teeth with gold."
'Abdullah bin Hazm said: "I saw 'Uthman, and I never saw a man or woman more beautiful than him."
as-Sa'ib said: "I saw him dying his beard yellow, and I never saw an old man more handsome than him."
4 - 'Ali bin Abi Talib:
"He was balding, but had much hair left, as if he was wearing a sheepskin. He was of medium height, with a large belly and a large beard."
    "He had a yellow beard."
"He dyed his beard with henna once, then he never used it again."
"His hair and beard were white, like cotton."
ash-Sha'bi said: "I saw 'Ali with a white beard, and I never saw anyone with a larger beard then he."
"He had heavyset, large eyes, and he was closer to being short."
Physical appearance in and of itself doesn't define a person's character entirely but I notice that 1, 2 and 3 all got great write-ups....

Good on you for having the courage to question a lifetime of beliefs & bias, no easy thing. A person genuine in search for Truth will find it by one wasila or another, for you it was the Shi'ah girl who planted the seed in your mind.
It's ultimately futile, frustrating to argue with stubborn people (aside from maybe it giving observers a chance to ponder) over who's right and who is wrong - because of course the Shi'ah of Maula Ali (as) are on HAQ ;-)
Maula keep you on the path of Guidance (as).

What does 'authentic' even mean in the context of a du'ah? You or I could formulate one right now and, providing it's content is 'correct' then the du'ah is valid.
I'm watching you Malik Hussain. All over this section of ShiaChat you've been trying to sow the seeds of doubt about certain aspects of established Shia'h practices.

Where did you get this from? Paak Nabi (pbuh) & his Pure Ahlulbayt (as) were created from Nur (Light):
There has come to you a Light from Allah, and a Manifest Book - Quran 5:15
Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti: "It is the Prophet (pbuh)" - Tafsir al-Jalalayn Page 139.
Fakhr al-Razi: "There are various positions about it, the first being that the Light is Muhammad (pbuh) and the Book is the Quran" - al-Tafsir al-kabir, Volume 11 Page 194.
Ibn Jarir al-Tabari: "By Light He means Muhammad (pbuh) through whom Allah (swt) has illuminated the Truth, manifested Islam, and obliterated polytheism; since he is a Light for whoever seeks illumination from him, which makes plain the Truth" - Jami' al-Bayan Volume 6 page 161.
Light doesn't require to have evil removed from it.

No one is judging anyone else, that is for Allah (jjh) to decide.
However, commenting on the deviancy of your cult is not only permissible but a duty to avoid simpletons getting sucked in to this seriously wayward sect.
You can't answer with logic, Noble Quran or Paak Narration so you pick superior 'knowledge' as your reason to run away.

Islam is not a hippie free-for-all where you can just pick and choose any deen or stick to the one you were born in and add woolly phrases to it to give you a warm and fuzzy feeling.
This is the faith sent to us by Allah (JJH) via Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Noble Quran then practiced by the Holy Imams (as) and captured in paak narrations.
If you have trouble understanding or accepting that then that is a problem for YOU. The Aga Khan Ismailis, based on my admittedly limited knowledge and information, are a seriously corrupted, deviant cult based on worship of the current leader.
You don't practice Islam and no amount of greeting each other with "Ya Ali Madad" (much as I love that) will cover the shocking deficiencies.
Please stop defending the indefensible. To me you are no less ignorant or brainwashed than sunnis who praise Muawiyah. You people honestly believe this Westernised playboy cavorting with semi-naked women on expensive yachts is (mazhallah) the embodiment of Maula Ali (as) or of the same Nur?
Even writing that fills me with rage yet you deviants actually BELIEVE this garbage. Lana'at on him and you.

Kismet110 got a reaction from Sirius_Bright in Muawiya Bin Abi Sufyan
Just to support some of the OP's points regarding Muawiyah from sunni sources.
Regarding the cursing of Maula Ali (as):
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hazim that the Governor of Medina, who was one of the members of the house of Marwan, called Sahl Ibn Sa'd and ordered him to curse Ali. But Sahl refused to do so. The governor said: "If you don't want to curse Ali, just say God curse Abu Turab (the nickname of Ali)." Sahl said: "Ali did not like any name for himself better than Abu Turab, and Ali used to become very happy when somebody would call him Abu Turab."
-- Sahih Muslim, Chapter of Virtues of Companions, Section of Virtues of Ali, Arabic version, v4, p1874, Tradition #38.
Why would a governor issue an order unless it was a govt policy?
"That it was in the days of Bani Umayyah, more than seventy thousand minbar (in mosques) upon which they cursed Ali Ibn Abi-Talib in some of what Muawiyah made a Sunnah for them."
    -- Rabeea' al-Abrar, al-Zamakhshari
    -- al-Hafidh Jalaluddin al-Suyuti
In her letter, Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet (saw) wrote to Muawiyah: "...You are cursing Allah and His Messenger on your minbar and that is because you are cursing Ali Ibn Abi Talib and whomever loves him, and I am a witness that Allah and His Messenger loved him."
    -- al-Aqd al-Fareed volume 2 page 300
When Muawiyah Ibn Abi Sufyan put al-Mughairah Ibn Shubah in charge of Kufah in Jumada 41 he summoned him. After praising and glorifying God, he said: "Now then, indeed a forbearing person has been admonished in the past. The wise might do what you want without instruction. Although I have wanted to advise you about many things, I left them alone, trusting in your discernment of what pleases me, what helps my regime and what sets my subjects [raiyyah] on the right path. I would continue to advise you about a quality of yours - do not refrain from abusing Ali and criticizing him, not from asking God's mercy upon Uthman and His forgiveness for him. Continue to shame the companions of Ali keep at a distance, and don't listen to them. Praise the faction of Uthman, bring them near, and listen to them."
-- History of Tabari, English version, events of year 51 AH volume 18 pp 122-123
Regards reneging on the agreement with Maula Hassan (as):
"Hasan placed a condition that Mu'awiya stop the practice of cursing 'Ali, a condition that he rejected. Hasan then asked that he refrain from cursing 'Ali in his presence. Mu'awiya agreed but did not fulfil this condition either".
-- Tarikh Kamil Volume 1 Page 203 Chapter "Dhikr Sulh Hasan"
"When Mu'awiya made peace with Hasan, he made a promise that leadership would go to Hasan after him"
-- al Bidayah wa al Nihaya, Volume 8 page 80 Dhikr 57 Hijri
Hasan said: 'I placed a condition on Mu'awiya that I will become leader after Mu'awiya.'
-- Fath ul Bari Sharh Bukhari Volume 13 Page 65 Kitab al Fitan
The poisoning of Maula Hassan (as) under instruction of Muawiyah is supposedly mentioned in the following sunni books (amongst others) but I can't verify so if anyone can then please do so:
Iqdul Fareed by Ibn Abd Rabbāh Volume 2 Page 11
Tāreekh by Abul Fidā Volume 1 Page 182
Tāreekhul Khamees by Husayn Dayarbakri Volume 2 Page 238

"Can you shed some light on this please"
In 630 the Apostle captured Makkah whereupon Hakam, his son Marwan and many other Umayyads accepted Islam. But Hakam and his son could never overcome their animosity to Islam and its Prophet. If they could hurt Islam, they did. Eventually, the Prophet banished them from Medina.
When he died and Abu Bakr became khalifa Uthman requested him to allow his uncle and his son-in-law to return to Medina but he refused. When Umar became khalifa, Uthman begged him to let the two pariahs come back to Medina but he too refused. Then Uthman became khalifa, and he, of course, lost no time in bringing them back to Medina and in bestowing the greatest honors upon them.
Yaqoobi, the historian, says that when Hakam entered Medina he was wearing dirty tatters like a beggar but when he left Uthman's palace he was dressed in the richest silks and brocade.
Uthman appointed Hakam as collector of the poor-tax from the tribe of Banu Qaza'a. Baladhuri, the historian, says that Hakam collected 300,000 dirhems and when he brought it to the khalifa, the latter gave it back to him to keep and to spend.

I have differences with fellow Shi'ah and sunnis but at least on majority of hukm we're ALL agreed and the basis of our deen is the same; reading the mind-boggling recollections and seeing the pictures makes it clear this cult is non-Shi'ah, non-Islamic and seriously deviated.
As for toledo, he's a coward and a liar; when he can't answer or deny the facts (which is often) he resorts to abusing an Imam, using the exact same words Nasibis use - not even able to think for himself, such is his level of ignorance.

    This is ShiaChat, not DaiGossip.
Back O/T. There are many other people in the world, not just this one Bohra. If you think it has to be him then have you asked him whether he'd be ready to accept the 12 Imams (as) rather than a sub-set followed by other random imposters?
It may seem OK now but believe me, when life progresses and you have children that's when problems may arise and your offspring may suffer in ways you can't imagine now.
Note (as witnessed on this and other threads) Bohras put more stock on elitism, material achievements and snobbery than most other things so if you're personality is this way inclined then it could be a match made in Paradise. For one of you of course....

Secondly, and I have also said it before, you are so bereft of spirituality and wisdom that you cannot even fathom the batin behind the ghayba of the Imam (as). The Imam (as) is in the heart of every believer. We don't need him in a multi-million dollar chateau in France or Switzerland (or the new island in the Bahamas that your imam is currently creating) to guide us.
In fact, precisely how is your imam guiding his mureeds? What sort of spiritual insights is he imparting to you that you couldn't find in a book? Besides teaching you to marry beautiful, Western women with little modesty, or how to ski the slopes of Canada or Switzerland, what is he teaching you that nobody else could?
