    Nice essay brother. I would add that science is limited not only in scope (i.e. it cannot discuss issues of morality, etc that you mentioned) but also depth. We don't know how deep into the "material world" it can penetrate, or what that even means as our definition of the material world keeps changing. It is also cannot into penetrate into the realm of the ghayb, whereas human consciousness, if Allah Wills, can do so to varying degrees. It is for this reason that the saints can see or hear things others cannot, but science cannot grasp such things.

    Brother this is not accurate. Islam is the fastest growing religion by birth for which there is an abundance of evidence because virtually every country keeps records of its birth rates and a rough estimate of its religious demographics which are mostly accurate. This is something for which the empirical evidence is overwhelming. Just look at the rise in population in Muslim majority countries over the last 50 years, it's unbelievable. Islam is definitely growing, alhamdulillah.

    The problem for the next generations will be defending it from the religion of secular humanism, which has in fact gripped the minds of Muslims to varying degrees and turned their mental conception of the world into one of kufr. The problem is that the ulema of the 60's recognized the kufr of communism because it declared open atheism, and they militantly opposed it. Although they recognize the philosophical problems of "the West" generally, there really has not been this militant and overt opposition to SECULAR HUMANISM which IS the religion of the modern world. The failure to name the phenomenon is, I think, in part why there has been such a lax response to what is easily a far bigger than anything else facing the ummah today. And it is coming in through soft power (cinema, news, etc.)

    I have not found a Hadith on Malik. Will post if come across something on him. 
    It is enough honour for Umm Salama that al-Husayn left the relics of Imama with her when he left for Iraq, and ordered her to hand them over to his eldest son i.e. Ali when the time comes. This shows that she was trustworthy. She is considered the best wife after Khadija.

    My father in law, who is an alim, explained it this way. 
    First, we should not focus on this subject. We all have a long way to go to get there, Paradise, if we ever manage to get there. Getting too much into these discussions is counter productive, at this point. That is why the Holy Quran did not go too much into details regarding the Hour Al Ayn. It is sufficient for us to know at this point the these women exists and that they are pure and pleasing to us. 
    Second, each houriat is 'custom made' for her husband. So if her husband likes white skin, European features, blond hair, etc, then she will be that way. If he likes darker skin and darker hair, she will be that way. The sole purpose of her existence is to please her husband, so whatever pleases her husband, that is what she will be like. 
    There is no purpose in focusing on this, though, because this doesn't exist on earth, in this dunya. The purpose of a wife, in the dunya, is not only this purpose. She has many other responsibilities, to her children, parents, family, community, and to herself and most importantly to Allah(s.w.a). Sometimes there is concordance between these responsibilities, sometimes not. The marriage relationship in this dunya is mostly a test and a responsibility, and we get some pleasure out of it here and there. But in the next world, marriage has a different purpose, and spouses have a different purpose. Since this is something we have never experienced, we are not expected to fully comprehend it. 
    It is sufficient to know that it exists, and is a reality and act as a motivation for us to be good, and obey Allah(s.w.a) so that someday we may get this.

    One way of putting it is that Iman is Naqis [deficient]. The other is that one is Kafir in Akhera. Both have been used by scholars who adopt this position. We are to treat them as Muslims on the apparent in our dealings with them.  
    Other scholars did not see this nuance, someone like Yusuf al-Bahrani says:
    إنك قد عرفت أن المخالف كافر لاحظ له في الاسلام بوجه من الوجوه 
    You have known that the Mukhalif is a Kafir, he has nothing to do with Islam [he has no portion in Islam], in any way whatsoever.
    See his: Shihab al-Thaqib fi Ma`na al-Nasib. 
    This is an extreme position that we reject for many reasons.
