13 September 1993, Airport Road Massacre
Professor Higgins replied to 5a49's topic in Politics/Current Events
Do you think Hariri gave the order deliberately to kill so as to cause a rift between Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army ? . Btw do you know which Army unit was involved in the massacre and who were the soldiers ? Did the crowd really provoke or was it a pre-planned massacre ? -

13 September 1993, Airport Road Massacre
Professor Higgins replied to 5a49's topic in Politics/Current Events
Back then Hezbollah was like a real scary Islamist organization.....they wanted to liberate Jersualem. Nowadays they have become more "pragmatic" and compromised on their original principles. now their maximum ambition is to liberate Shebaa' and hold on to Bint Jbeil. Sometimes I wonder if any of the old Hezbollah members since from 1982 have remained in the organization. I mean the companions of Hajj Mughniyeh. i think if Hezbollah doesn't get into another major battle with Israel in the next 10 years, they will be gradually weakened morallly and ideologically. Because they are gradually -
Should We Be Mad At Who Mocks The Prophet?

I guess the Prophet PBUH had an entirely different view of things like morality and privacy, who are we to question what he used to do ? -

Australia's Lebanese Gang Problem
Professor Higgins replied to Al-Mufeed's topic in Politics/Current Events
How is it possible to be racist with the Lebanese ? One of the most racist people out there. Lebs are White by race, for all practical purposes, so it defies logic for the Australians to be racist towards them. -
Question To Lebanese People
Professor Higgins replied to christiansyrian's topic in Politics/Current Events
I believe that Lebanon is historically part of Syria ( Souria al Kubra) and Jordan is historically part of Palestine. Together, Syria and Palestine are historically One Unit (Syria-Palaestina) since Roman times. Since the Roman Empire down to the demise of the Ottoman Empire ( 1920 ) this whole region of Levant (Syria,Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine) , Bilad al Sham, was One Unit with a similar culture and similar people despite the wide variety of sects and ethnic groups. It actually worked. There are very few differences between the 4 countries and very few differences between the sects. Befor -

Erdoğan Likens Syrian Crisis To Karbala Massacre
Professor Higgins replied to nemesis's topic in Politics/Current Events
Well during the initial stages of the Bahrain crisis he called it a "Karbala" as well, especially after the Saudi invasion. Erdogan is trying to woo Arabs, he has an inferiority complex, like all Turkish Islamists. Turkish Islamists in general are desperate to be accepted among Arabs, Erdogan even tried to woo Hamas before this. -
Thats not true, Palestinians didn't sell their land to the Jews, because they did not own it in the first place. All the land in Palestine was owned by 10 to 15 feudal families ( Iktaai) who owned the land and who sold it to the Jewish settlers, big feudal families like Nashashibi. Between 1900 and 1920, 2/3rd of our land was sold off to the Jews like this. Besides, Palestinians were not even ruling themselves during this period as we were ruled by the Ottomans, who encouraged Zionist immigration. Sort of like saying Leb Shias welcomed the PLO into their villages in the 1970s.

Why do you always put secular and atheist together ? Secularism doesn't mean atheism and I am not an Atheist. Defending our history doesn't mean defending Salafism, I am just defending my glorious history and our Caliphs.- 21 replies

Azerbaijan Republic-opressed Muslim Shia Majority
Professor Higgins replied to Hoper's topic in Politics/Current Events
You will be surprised to hear that I have some relatives who are partially of Armenian descent ( that is their ancestors some of them married Armenian refugee girls in the 1920s and 1930s ). Alos traditionally Armenians can be found everywhere including Palestine, there is an Armenian Quarter in Occupied Old Jerusalem. I have no problems with the migrant or refugee Armenians who live in Arab countries, only against racist Armenians in Armenia who massacred 2000 Azeri Muslims in 1992. But why did your people massacre 2000 Azeri Shia Muslims in Karabakh ?- 126 replies
