Tawhidi back at it again, pretending to be an advocate for progression.
Anyway, some context: WorldHijabDay was yesterday and this booth at UCF was passing out hijabs to raise awareness of what the hijab is, etc etc. This political wannabe Tomi Lahren named Kathy Zhu (Twitter: @PoliticalKathy), decided to get involved. She took pictures of said booth and pretended that hijab was being forced on the women walking by as some ploy of Sharia Law (lol). Uploaded the pictures and had most of her Trump supporting 40+ year old white men attacking the booth and claiming the university was supporting Islamism in some form. The Hijab advocating girls decided to attack back and request the expulsion of the girl (Twitter's been attacking a lot of racist individuals of the late). Which in my opinion isn't really the way to go but whatever.
The noble Tawhidi just couldn't stand by however! Decided to harass this woman and support the Trump minions:

And if that wasn't disgraceful, once she made her account private from all the harassment, he just had to get those clout points: https://imgur.com/NrVhT2k

I just can't stop going through the content he posts. It amazes me just how much he's playing the victim card when the Muslim community ridicules him.
All his supporters are alt right wing extremists who advocate Islamophobia and paint upcoming wars against the great devil that is Islam. They see him as the perfect poster boy for what a Muslim should be. That is, ignorant to the shortcomings of patriotism and nationalism. He spends the majority of his time attacking anyone who tries to show the humane side to Muslims.
There HAS to be something we can do!? I don't care if he preaches againts Islam but he should not be allowed to represent Shia wearing what he does as it is universal that sheikhs and scholars are our ambassadors especially in such matters. It's irritating that he's even given the time of day by media outlets.

Children (how many, when, how to raise them) Religiousness (Do they pray five times a day, do they go to mosque every Friday, do they know the history?)  Can they cook?  What type of food do they like? Does either one want a house soon or can it wait? Spending habits  Hobbies passion Have they done hajj  Are there any skeletons in either closet? (Dark secrets, no judging just ask to put it out on the table) Past relationships, how far if at all have they gone with the opposite sex? what do they expect an average day to look like in the household? OneOfTheSyyeds got a reaction from RevolutionaryVisionary in Vault 7 Leaks
The sad thing is that nobody will care in a few weeks. As seen before with Edward Snowden, people will be outraged for a few days, the media will suppress it, the government will justify it by saying "Security, security blah blah... How dare whoever leaked it leak it, they must be found! What they did was illegal they must be tried!" then something outrageous like Russian hacks or Iranian nuclear deal will overshadow it and it'll just be history. You'll be a conspiracy nut if you dare bring it up in a conversation because how dare you question your government!

    Reality is wonderful ain't it.

If these leaks are validated, this could bring to light so much evidence to "conspiracy theories" that many have held in belief for so long, that the CIA is capable of spying on everyone through our smartphones and smartdevices. The MSM isn't really reporting on this big story as they have been with others, I wonder why? The CIA declined to comment or even authenticate them, very suspicious. Search up news on these leaks and inform everyone you know. Let's not let the US Gov hear the end of this.

One of the signs of prophethood or a matsoom imam is that you're allowed to ask them any questions and they must answer it (correctly of course). I imagine a vigorous question load from top scholars or something like that, perhaps even a miracle or two?

There is no such thing as race. Race is an imperialist social construct meant to divide "us" from "them".
Intercultural marriage will require compromises and understanding, but it's not that difficult if the spouses respect each other. Any marriage requires compromise and understanding, but if the spouses share a culture at least they are more likely to agree on what to eat and how to interact with their communities.

I truly believe the motto of the Shia is to stand up to oppression of all kinds. The battle of Karbala is a prime example. Islam isn't a religion of peace and it never sought out to be just look at history, It is a religion of Justice.
I believe there was a hadith where a youth was beating his wife and she sought out help to Amir ul momineen. When he approached the man, he was quite violent and rude towards the Imam to the point where Imam Ali pulled out the Zulfiqar the man immediately recognized his sword and sought forgiveness. I'll try and find the hadith.
Ah found it. It's the last story on the oppression of women. http://www.ezsoftech.com/stories/amirul.mumineen.asp
Just one the many times Imam Ali interceded on injustice! Inshallah someone wiser will come with more examples.

    Imam Ali (AS):
"O people! Verily this day of yours is the day when the righteous are awarded and the wretched are losers. It is a day which is similar to the one on which you shall be standing (before your Lord). Therefore, when you come out of your homes to go to places of your prayer, remind yourselves about the day when you (your souls) shall come out of your bodies to go to your Lord. When you stand on places of your prayer, remind yourselves of your standing in presence of your Lord (on the day of Judgement). And when you return to your homes (after prayer), remind yourselves about your returning to your homes in Paradise. O Servants of Allah! Verily the minimum reward for those men and women who fasted (during Ramadan), is an Angel, who calls out to them on the last day of the month of Ramadan (saying):
O Servants of Allah! rejuice the glad tiding that all your previous sins have been forgiven."

Yes, I jumped to the same conclusion, It just doesn't look salvageable. Despite assistance from foreign countries for a regime change and etc, the country just seems weak in all aspects. From what I saw with my visit even the schools were close to hopeless so no hope of gaining elites or intellectuals that could invest in industrializing the nation. :P

+1! Good post, Sex is a very powerful biological desire and anybody else telling you different is a liar. Approaching it in a halal method prescribed to us is necessary and I can only agree with my Prince, If it was allowed with our Sunni brothers/sisters then without a doubt all these problems that come with sex/temptation wouldn't be as bad as it is nowadays for our youth.

OneOfTheSyyeds reacted to Miss Wonderful in Would You Allow Your Divorced/Widowed Mother To Perform Mut'a?
At a young age,  I  instinctively knew what  topics  never to ask or discuss with my parents. Whenever there was a kissing or bed scene on TV my parents would become alarmed and yell out 3AYB and flip  the channel and  then flip it back to the movie when the kissing halted. I even remember when my brother and I were watching the Simpsons, and Homer said the word "sex", my brother like a true Calipha banned the show for an entire year.
The topics of  sex and desire were never explained.  I was told that when two people kissed it was wrong and disgusting-but not between a husband and a wife. I was also told that when a woman gets married she instantly has a child  in her stomach lol.

The point is when "taboo" topics are not  properly discussed or explained by our parents we begin to have the mindset  that this is wrong or something very shameful. Or worse we  try to find an explanation for the topic from people who themselves are ignorant or learned the wrong way from their own family of friends.    When the topic of Mut'a, temporary marriage, is brought up many Shias don't know how to explain it,and other schools of thought are the first to accuse us of Zina, because they don't know the entire history either. I, myself,  had a disagreeing attitude on some aspects of  mut'a because my mind couldn't fully wrap around the subject. This was stemming out from old   conditioning that having desires was taboo, disgusting, and unIslamic. In my head, mut'a should be seen as an opportunity  in times of war to marry divorced or widowed  women temporarily in order to help protect them if they couldn't support themselves. I didn't want to acknowledge the desire part because to me that wasn't "holy" and just didn't seem to fit right with Islam. I started questioning how could someone allow their divorced/widowed mom to engage in mut'a relationship and what if she chose to  do a new contract with another man after two years-what about the honor of the family?! I was now back into culture and society mode. It  wasn't about the Qur'aan or what  Allah SWT allowed and did not allow- I fell into the trap of my limited mind and of society's hypocritical views.  They  told me that mut'a is not something to be frowned upon or  to be  apologetic about. It's as halal as the beef we eat from a halal supermarket!!!!  But that wasn't enough for me, and at that moment a   seed of Aisha was regretfully planted in me in that moment, and I heatedly  shot back the yo mama doing mutah question at them and they answered me:

Mut'a is not just limited to war and survival. It is a relationship before Allah, between two people that requires a a wali's permission (if  applicable), an aqd, fulfillment of rights, and it is mustahab to have witnesses. If  my mom was single and wanted mut'a to protect herself from zina and loneliness, that is her right. Her chances for permanent marriage if she is in her 50s and a widow, with adult children are not very high. For a young virgin girl it is not recommended, but if you are a widow or divorcee then that's your decision to make. Islam doesn't believe in celibacy or sex without conditions. Mut'a has a dowry and an 'idda. If I want to mut'a  a young  Shia virgin (legal definition) I have to get her wali's permission, then she names the dowry and conditions. Then we do the aqd. No dad is going to give his daughter away without good reasons.IT's not just two horny people hooking up. At the end of the mut'a if it is not renewed, she does an idda. Most people use muta during engagement ( without sex) so a couple can get to know each other without sinning. Also if a child is born  during a mut'a relationship, the father has to take care of the child and put an inheritance in their name.

As soon this was explained to me, the Aisha seed of rebellion of was eradicated and I could finally accept Mut'a  wholly and not just my limited definition of it. Allah SWT  knows His creation  better than anyone , and catered to the human needs, to make our life easier. And we find the Imam Ali (as) to have said  that  the practice of Mut'a would've eradicated Zina
"Imam Ali(as) said "Had Umar not banned Mut'ah then the only person to fornicate would be a wretched person." Tafseer al-Kabeer, Page 41
If mut'a was explained in each household properly we wouldn't be having this issue.

Therefore the explanation of puberty should not just stop at changes of the body. Parents and guardians should acknowledge the fact that as puberty occurs, a male and a female will start to have sexual urges and of the halal ways these urges can be satisfied or controlled( ex: fasting). Parents should not leave the explanations to public schools, where the teacher tells students that its normal to feel sexual urges toward not only opposite gender, but also the same sex and then hands out  condemns to students at the end of the lecture.
The fact that Mut'a is mentioned in the Qur'an (4:24) should be enough of a reason for parents to acknowledge its importance, research the subject properly and teach it to their children. Explaining does not give your child the license  when they come of age, to abuse Mut'a. On the contrary  now they know the responsibilities and guidelines on how to  perform Mut'a properly and can successfully avoid Zina.

The moon is clearly spherical. The sun is spherical. We can see them and confirm, especially the moon which we can observe with the naked eye. We witness these bodies rising and setting and we know their shapes well. As muslims, our islamic calendar works because of its spherical shape and the 3D position vs solar light. No real need for further probing about moon's shape, right?
Yet, somehow, some people believe that the earth is completely different and has the shape of a flat disc while moon and sun may remain spherical? How absurd. How can anyone peddle such incomplete, ridiculous theories. Seriously. Its a mockery of human thought process and insult to all thinkers, scholars and scientists. @starlight thats the cause for concern here.

As cheesy as this may sound, breathing techniques/meditation are guide for these kinds of phobias. It's all mental and in the head, the body is conditioned and is the product of years and years of evolution in regards to adaptation. This has caused us to adopt many unnecessary traits that just try to keep us away from danger, but conquering these are key. I like what the person up there said as well, put yourself in those situations and learn discipline and control, remember it's all in your head.
Phobias are anxiety disorders and CAN be contained, do some research mate.
