The fact is you are simply choosing to side with certain scholars when not all agree on the topic, what I am asking is you to prove your beliefs in the quran, remember the ahadith says that any ahadith that goes against the Holy Quran is unable to be used. You are making takfir on people without any real basis, you cannot show me why those ayah were revealed and when, yet you want to say it is for the here and now and for each and every Christian when this is not the case, those ayah were revealed in a time of war when the Christians were fighting the Muslims. So through these we know that any Christian who fights us is not a believer, but those who choose to live in peace with us do not necessarily qualify! we also know with these ayah that we should not 'love' the christians and jews or trust them in wartime against them, why? because in wartime even your freinds can become hidden enemies, and one day we all know that the Christians and Jews will fight against the Imam Mahdi (atf) but this does not make all christians and jews kafir and hell bound. Have you ever met an Amish person? have you ever met a christian who doesnt believe that the prophet Isa (as) is a god? there really are 'good' christians and 'bad' ones, and Allah will deal with them on an individual basis, and my proof of this is in the Quran itself Also, you are forgoing the fact that so many millions of Christians and Jews will in the future convert to Islam, you are making takfir on a people who may end up being 100 times better a muslim than you or me, you could be making takfir on one of the 313 for all you know! ONLY Allah can judge the hearts of men, not you, not me, not any scholar! We are shia, not wahabbis, we dont make takfir on everyone, we welcome people to our religion, and we show them what Islam is supposed to be!
  2. as to the first quote from that particular scholar his veiws are against the holy quran itself and there is no point even discussing it because I already showed you the proper ayaat which discounts all he said. There are two kinds of people of the book, those who believe and those who do not, according to the Holy Quran. you cannot use either ahadith 7 or 8 because chapter 60 was revealed long before the chapter of "The Table" and abrogating verse cannot come before the abrogated one. Moreover, it is accepted and confirmed in the traditions that the chapter of "The Table" is the abrogator and not the abrogated. Another proof to show that it is not abrogated may be seen in the foregoing tradition that mut 'ah with a woman from the People of the Book is allowed and people have acted upon it; and mut'ah is a nikah and marriage. number 8 also cannot be used as it is supposed to be a tafsir of 2:221 and it would have been abrogated by the ayah in the Table as well. we could have a much lengthier discussion on the topic of marriage to christians and jews, but as this was not the question asked, nor the answer to the question asked, it is useless to go into great detail on this particular topic. what I asked was, can you please show me exactly when and where and why the ayaat in question, concerning the disbelieving people of the book, was revealed. so if we could move on to answering the origionally asked question it would speed things up a bit

Eid e shoma mubarak to all on this zahoor anniversary of Imam Mahdi (atf) seems to be a sunni thing, got this from wiki Sunni view Sunnis (except for the 'Salafi manhaj') observe Mid-Sha'ban as a night of worship and salvation. The 'date' remembers when Allah (SWT) saved Noah's followers from the deluge. The Sunni narrative is that Allah (SWT) determines the destiny of all people, including whether a person lives or dies, in the coming year and for this reason it is sometimes called the "Night of Emancipation". Imam Nawawi mentioned in his Majmu`, where he also quoted Imam al-Shafi`i from the latters al-Umm that it has reached him that there are 5 nights when dua ( prayers ) is answered, one of them being the night of the 15th of Sha`ban. I am just wondering how come they think Allah doesnt answer dua but 5 nights a year? kind of sad I think

Just a question here Muhammed is self defense haram in islam? another question; a person is being attacked and is not strong enough to fight off their attacker, is it haram to defend them/come to their aid if you are there or does Islam teach us to walk away and leave the other muslim to their fate at the hands of a non believer?

Asalaam Alaykom brother, I would like to better understand this ayah and all of its implications if you would do me the honor of discussing this with me please. here I want to quote what I remember from a hadith that I once heard, but I apologize because I do not remember either exact wording or source, perhaps someone can help me here. But in this hadith a king had given three of his slaves some money, and the first man buried or hid the money to have in safe keeping until his master returned, the second took half the money and invested it and buried the other half, the third invested the full amount and it increased greatly, when the king returned the first gave the money back to the king and the king said thank you, the second gave the money that he had made (maybe double the origional amount) to the king and the king said thank you, the third gave all that he had made (and the amount had increased tremendously) and the king made him ruler over many lands because he was the truest to the trust given to him. So, my question is really going to be, what is our true responsibility towards this trust? the trust is the wilayah of the Imam (as) therefore, How exactly do we keep the trust? is it simply being true to the teachings in our own selves? or is there a greater responsibility? I feel like it becomes a possibility even according to the wording of the ayah, that this trust given to man, man has a great responsibility towards, and would like to know if it is possible that those who accept the trust have to do more than just believe in and follow in wilayah? Do they have to speak of/ and teach wilayah to others? or am I misunderstanding something in this ayah

  10. Abu Qurrah said, We (the narrators of Hadith) narrate that Allah the Almighty has divided His being seen, al-Ru'ya, and His speech, al-Kalam, between the two prophets. He gave Musa (Moses) the opportunity to hear His speech. He granted to Prophet Muhammad sawa, the opportunity to see Him. Imam abu al-Hassan asws said, If it is as you say then who was it that conveyed the message from Allah to the two heavy communities, namely, mankind and the Jinn in the following words of the Holy Quran: . . . the eyes cannot comprehend Him, (6:103) They cannot limit Him through their knowledge, (20:110) and There is nothing similar to Him. (42:11) Was it not Muhammad sawa, who conveyed the above verses, asked the Imam asws? Abu Qurrah then replied, Yes, He was Prophet Muhammad, sawa The Imam said, How can a person; who brought such messages to all creatures and told them that he has brought such messages from Allah and called them to Allah by His commands and said, The eyes cannot comprehend Him, (6:103) They cannot limit Him through their knowledge(20:110) and There is nothing similar to Him; (42:11) say, I saw Him with my own eyes? I did limit Him in my knowledge and that He is similar to a man. Should you not be ashamed of yourselves? Even the atheist has not said that the Prophet first brought one thing from Allah and then announced from Him other things contrary to the first. Abu Qurrah then said, Does Allah Himself not say, Indeed he (the Prophet sawa) saw him in another descent? (53: 13) Imam abu al-Hassan asws, said, The other verses point out what the Prophet (sawa) actually saw. Allah has said, His heart did not lie about what he saw, (53: 11) It means that the heart of Muhammad did not belie what his eyes saw. Therefore, Allah in the subsequent verse has said, Indeed he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. (53:18) The signs of Allah are different from Allah Himself. Allah has also said, They cannot limit Him in their knowledge. (20:110) If the eyes could see Him, then people might limit Him in their knowledge and He could be fully defined. Abu Qurrah asked, Do you disregard Hadith? Imam abu al- Hassan asws replied, If Ahadith are contrary to Holy Quran, I disregard them. Besides, all Muslims believe that Allah cannot be limited by (anyones) knowledge, that eyes cannot see Him and that nothing is similar to Him. That ahadith quoted, someone has to be pure enough in order for some kind of direct wahy, otherwise, how would any creature know anything about Allah at all? at one point someone has to get direct wahy, therefore, allow me to quote these ahadith Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Nobody knows Allah except me and Ali. Nobody knows me except Allah and Ali. Nobody knows Ali except Allah and me." and now this; h3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn abu ‘Umayr or someone other than him from Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl from abu Hamzah who has that he said to abu Ja'far (as.), "May Allah take my soul in service for your cause, the Shi‘a (your followers) ask about the meaning of the words of Allah, "Of what do they ask one another? (78:1). Do they ask about the great news?"The Imams (as) said, "It depends up on my decision. I may tell them or may not tell them. Then he said: "I like, however, to tell you the meaning thereof." I then asked what is the meaning of, "Of what do they ask one another?" The Imams (as) said, "It means Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.). Amir al-Mu’minin (as) used to say, "None of the signs of Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, is greater than I h1. Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (p) was requested to explain the divine words occurring in the verse: …Neither Signs nor Warners profit those who believe not. (Q, 10:101) The Imam (as): We (the Imams) are the Signs and the prophets are the Warners. h2. Commenting on the verse: They rejected all our Signs…(Q, 54:42) Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) explained that the signs were the Prophet Muhammad (saww) and the Infallible Imams (as). therefore, I believe that it is possible for the greatest signs of Allah (as) to be the ones who might receive the direct wahy of some kind, however, we dont know how or in what manner that might be nor should it be a thing considered or thought of, but that ahadith I first quoted is logical
  11. please note the point added to these ayah, those who disbelieve from the people of the book. this means, among the people of the book there are believers and disbelievers, but both ways they are still people of the book, meaning, those who believe from the people of the book did not change their religion to islam. So, I would like you to show exactly why those ayah were revealed, and when they were revealed, and then we can get to the heart of the matter! perhaps learning something in the process, instead of following in the footsteps of the wahabbis Not all of them are alike: of the People of the book are a portion that stand (for the right); they rehearse the signs of Allah all night long and then prostrate themselves in adoration. They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong; and they (hasten in emulation) in (all) good works; they are in the ranks of the righteous. Of the good that they do nothing will be rejected of them; for Allah knoweth well those that do right.(3:113-115)
  12. a kafir is someone who hides the truth, a non muslim is someone who does not believe in our faith (here you will find the mushrik and idolators), if a non- muslim is christian or jew then they are people of the book, ahl al kitab please find me reference in the Holy Quran to where Ahl al Kitab is a kafir if they are not doing an action to hide the truth. try getting your info from the quran from time to time, a farmer is called a kafir in the quran for planting seeds (ie: he covers them = kafir)

And if a term had not been appointed, The doom would have definitely come on them. And it will come upon them suddenly When they perceive not. this would mean, no one will actually realize they are living in the middle of the last days, and the rising of the actual sun in the west is too big a sign to miss, I believe it is that Allah does not want people to come to Him from fear, but from love and a spirit of truth! when the ahadith says they have no more chance of repentence after this, it is refering to the NATION of America, and her governance, after this sign was fulfilled America had no more chances to repent of her evil and become a godly governance, she then became a governance of shaytan with no way to repent.... however individuals do have a chance to repent of their deeds, but it becomes a personal journey, and no longer an ability for a national repentance such as the Nation of Nuh (as) or the Nation of Yunus (as) When the ahadith says that only those who will believe, will have believed before, its tafsir is in the soul, any american who follows the path of truth, follows it because they gave their bayyah in the alam al dharr..... and by the way the Native Americans also knew of the sign of the rising of the sun in the west, and warned the American government as to its meaning at the time it happened, it just so happened that American government did not listen or care about the Native American prophecies that are carved in a 12,000 year old (carbon dated) tablet It is however, still possible, that there will be two fulfillments of this ahadith, ie: one is the above and one is quite literal, which would come much later.... but this I cannot say, but for america, this ahadith has already been fulfilled!

I am just throwing this in, first of all that hadith I believe is from tafsir Ayyashi. its a common hadith most shia know so it is not a problem not giving reference. also, it is a historical fact, not any kind of conjecture or shirk, that the people only circumambulated the Kaaba before the zahoor of Imam Ali (as), it is a historical fact that only after Imam Ali (as)'s zahoor that the order of prostration was given. Also, the inside of the Kaaba is set up for Itikaf, but it is also a historical fact that the only time that part of the Kaaba was used for Itikaf was the zahoor of Imam Ali (as) people can read into all that what they will.... this is simple history. read it sometime...

Salaam to anyone who is my brother in faith The Holy Prophet (saww) taught love of our brothers, He said if a muslim in another country is hurt then we also will hurt, because we are connected in spirit through Muhammed wa Aale Muhammed (saww) and Love of our Creator (azwj) The Holy Prophet (saww) also taught something called, to you be your religion to us be ours, this is called tolerance, not everyone is going to agree on the same thing, but this doesnt mean we delve into hatred and doing evil to another human being, Allah is the judge of us all, and it is He on the Day of Judgement who will tell us the truth in that in which we differed. We canont judge another man, we are fallible, sinners, how can we say we know anything? Imam Ali (as) said the one who says he knows anything is the most ignorant of them all. The Holy Prophet (saww) taught that we are one family, one ummah, that we are all Bani Adam at the very least. We do not kill, we do not hurt others, we treat everyone with love and kindnesses, respect. It is written that we are to speak a message of truth, in love and kindness and good words, but if the words we speak are rejected not to waste more of our breath, because we cannot guide anyone, all we can do is to say the message, and Allah guides whom He will to all truth. Imam Ali (as) said, much debate causes a sickness of the soul, and to avoid this type of religious quarelling with those who do not accept your words, as it causes a blackness inside of us, and makes us sick, and takes us away from the truth, and gives the shaytan a way inside of us. take care

(bismillah) Asalaam Alaykum The 8th Imam tells us 'the Throne is not Allah, The Throne is a name that denotes Knowledge and Power, and it contains all" (a-Kulayni Usul) These two (the Seat and the Throne) are two of the greatest thresholds of the invisible worlds, They are Themselves invisible, and intimately connected with the Invisible, for the Seat is the exoteric (zahir) Threshhold of the Invisible; it is the place where those created being from which all things proceed appear; the Throne is the esoteric (batin) Threshold that contains the Knowledge of how, of existence, of quantity, of limit, of where, of Volition, and the attribute of Will; it contains the Knowledge of words, of movements, and of immobility, as well as the Knowledge of the Return and the Origon. (Ibn Babuye Kitab al-tawhid chapter50 page 321-322 num. 1) This is the proper explaination of the Throne ^^^^^^ Other ahadith either indicate or say that the Holy Prophet (saww) represents the seat and that the Imam (as) represents the Throne, but those most will outright reject Fi Aman Allah

Show me which of our Ulema (fadlullah excluded no offense intended) but any of our major Ulema who are recent and/or alive, Ayatollah Bahjat, or Ayatollah Khomeini, or Ayatollah Sistani or Ayatollah Shirazi or someone of this stature that says that we look at sanad only please..... Show me which of any of these Ulema of our day rejects this hadith and says we cannot accept it, Allamah Tabataba'i has himself said in tafsir al-Mizan that we should not reject these ahadith (I edited because I was referring origionally thinking you were talking about another ahadith I posted which I knew to be weak in sanad but that was a different thread) Fi Aman Allah

(bismillah) I was not taught or read anywhere concerning these ideas, I simply had them, (ie: on my own all by myself) I just saw these ahadith in a way one day, after I had been praying, in a different way... and dont ask me why I dont know why...lol as Brother Aladdin pointed out, I was exceedingly upset over the zulm being committed by another brother against the Masumeen (as) and I opened this thread, I wanted to share a good possibility, rather than see what was going on anymore, I wanted people to stop and think for a few minutes, about what possibilities might lie in the things we dont know, in the ahadith most dont accept as fact, and want to call others names for believing in.
