  1. From what I read on wikipedia omar is old Arabic for Life or long life. My question is, is this correct according to shia?
  2. Why brother/sister marriage was not the only option? Did brother and sister marriage each other? That is the first thing which comes to the mind of some people if they are told that we are descendants of Adam. Although this one possible way to get children, this is clearly prohibited in Quran (See sura 4 verse 23) and nowhere does it tell that children of Adam married each other! But if you study Quran, you will see another option in the example of Mary and his Son: She said: When shall I have a boy and no mortal has yet touched me, nor have I been unchaste? (19:20) He said: Even so; your Lord says: It is easy to Me: and that We may make him a sign to men and a mercy from Us, and it is a matter which has been decreed. (19:21) So she conceived him; then withdrew herself with him to a remote place. (19:22) And the throes (of childbirth) compelled her to betake herself to the trunk of a palm tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died before this, and had been a thing quite forgotten! (19:23) So if, there were virgin birth in the time of Adam, who would marry whom? Cousins and Nephews right? Quran: Forbidden to you are your mothers and your daughters and your sisters and your paternal aunts and your maternal aunts and brothers' daughters and sisters' daughters and your mothers that have suckled you and your foster-sisters and mothers of your wives and your step-daughters who are in your guardianship, (born) of your wives to whom you have gone in, but if you have not gone in to them, there is no blame on you (in marrying them), and the wives of your sons who are of your own loins and that you should have two sisters together, except what has already passed; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.(4:23) I did not write this to show whether Adam’s children married one and other or not. Quran forbids that one says something he/she doesn’t know. Since Quran doesn’t say how Adam’s children got married, I will not take this virgin option for granted as well so easily.
