tahasyed got a reaction from Panzerwaffe in What do Sunnis say about these? - A long list of wacko sunni hadith...
    (salam)
    1) There are many 'troubling' shia ahadith as well. Sure, shia ulema have not graded them. But dont use that as an excuse to put down sunni ahadith.
    2) Many times, 'funny' sunni ahadith are also found in shia books. Many shias dont know about this, because they spend their time trying to find faults in the sunni books. (It's sad, but not a SINGLE shia I know in real life has actually read shia hadith books, while they can babble on about the 'funny things' in the sahihain).
    3) Just because something *seems* funny doesn't make it false.
The Quran talks about Ibrahim being thrown into a fire without getting burnt. Or Younus not getting burnt by the acids in the whale's stomach. etc....
My point is, just because we can't understand some stuff does not make it false.
    wassalam.

such wonderful stories. Makes me almost ashamed of sharing mine.
I used to be sunni, but distanced myself from religion when I found some very disturbing stuff in Sahih-Muslim and other books.
I turned agnostic (almost athiest) for the longest time. Its all a blur now... drugs, aclohol, crime, police.... :squeez:
In uni, I met two shias who helped me a great deal, and I realized that the problems I had with sunniism were not to be found in shi'ism. The more I studied, the more convinced I became. I decided it was NOT Islam I had a problem with, but rather - certain aspects of sunniism.
I know I still have a long way to go, but with the über-helpful members of shiachat, I hope the journey will be swift, inshallah. :)
