  1. Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim Salaams to the Believers, Like when it's cool to accuse someone in public? And then imply that they're a liar? Whether it's right or wrong is irrelevant, it's the way in which you decided to pursue it that I have a problem with. As I already said, if you have an issue with the brother, take it up with him in private. Of course, because I obviously can't read properly. I never said that Bollywood_Hero's response was perfectly correct. However, you accuse DjibrilCisse of something which some may consider a "major sin" in a public forum, without any proof other than your "doubt" in his word. That is certainly not correct. Imagine that I knew a brother on the board who was becoming emotionally attached to a sister. Should I start posting on threads "Well, brother X, you are obviously falling into misguidance and you're a morally corrupt shia." Obviously I should take it up with him in private first, and see if I can help him work through whatever problem he's having. Only if everything else failed and he was continuing to indulge in haraam relationships whilst portraying himself as holier-than-thou on the board, might I warn him in public not to be two-faced, or worse. But there are levels of escalation in my example, as there should be. Furthermore, I wouldn't bother to doubt or accuse my brother of anything in public without at the very least alluding to knowledge that he was doing something haraam. If brother X said in a thread, "well i don't talk to non-mahrams" and I knew otherwise, what would be the point in me saying, "well, i doubt that, because there's lots of non-mahrams around." It doesn't carry any weight, and simply makes me look as though I've got a personal problem with brother X without any reason - even if that is not the case. I think there's better ways of approaching people than essentially accusing them of lying without even alluding to fore-knowledge, and then brushing off other people's concerns with the typical 'oh, but you've not been Muslim very long.' 2. Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim Salaams to the Believers, It's just a dummy text insertion macro. "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" contains every letter of the English alphabet, hence its usefulness as a dummy sentence. By changing the numbers in the brackets, using the format of "=rand(no. of paragraphs,no. of sentences per paragraph)" it is possible to alter the layout and amount of dummy text to be inserted. This can be useful for testing templates, etc, with dummy content quickly and easily. Try experimenting with a new document, and enter something like "=rand(2,10)", then press return. This should give you two paragraphs with ten sentences per paragraph (twenty sentences in all). Generally, people only use the maximum values of "(200,99)" when they want to scare newbies into confusion. Wasalaam, Jondab Ali
  3. Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim Salaams to the Believers, Why post one word? No one understands what you're trying to say, or how it's relevant to the thread. Just a tip: you don't have to post your reaction to every thread, especially if you don't have anything to say. If every user on the board posted one word and an emoticon on every thread, the forum would become pretty much unreadable. If you don't know what it's about, why not PM the person who posted it and ask? Wasalaam, Jondab Ali
  4. Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim Salaams to the Believers, This thread was created on Oct 25, 2003. Is the poll even valid anymore? Wasalaam, Jondab Ali
  5. Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim Salaams to the Believers, So you're accusing the brother of being a liar, basically. That's much worse Akhlaq than was just demonstrated by Bollywood_Hero. Perhaps, instead of being hypocritical, you should take your own advice and mind your Akhlaq, giving your brother the chances he deserves. Firstly, we don't know whether or not he listens to music. Secondly, even if he did, how can we tell what type of music (perhaps classical)? Thirdly, even if it's music that you believe to be haraam, perhaps his marja considers it halaal. In any case, it's rude to acuse the brother in public like you did previously, and then imply that he's lying in his response. If you honestly think he's doing something wrong, why not take it up with him privately so as not to embarass him? Wasalaam, Jondab Ali
  6. Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim Salaams to the Believers, Aye, 'twas a good try. Considering the obstacles they've overcome to get this far, they've done exceptionally well. They still have the play-off for the Bronze to look forward to, too. They were not discraced, by any means, especially when they pulled back a goal near the end. Lots of good tries at goal, throughout. Can't wait to see them play for the Bronze. Wasalaam, Jondab Ali
  7. Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim Salaams to the Believers, Just to confirm, Amir Khan's next fight will be on Friday (27/08/2004) @ approx. 18:30BST. Wasalaam, Jondab Ali
  8. Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim Salaams to the Believers, Anything that is presently on your hd (including installed software) can technically be checked, although the legality of this would depend on the country you're living in, etc. Generally, those who are prosecuted are those who are found to be actively sharing a large collection of copied media or warez. By actively sharing, I mean being connected to a P2P network and allowing those files to be downloaded by other users. Unless they are intently building a file on you personally, unlikely. But as I said before, even installed software, etc, often contains malware which automatically contacts an internet server to give registration info and logs your IP, etc. Wasalaam, Jondab Ali
  9. Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim Salaams to the Believers, Ok, if you've got broadband we'll find a way for you to get the feed. Have you got msn, aim or something? Wasalaam, Jondab Ali
