The Najaf Seminary Protests in Solidarity with Palestine October 18, 2023 The Islamic Seminary in Najaf has announced the suspension of all its classes for this Wednesday, the 18th of October 2023, in protest against the brutal bombing carried out by the Zionists on the Al-Ma’madani Hospital in Gaza. This attack claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent infants, as well as women and other patients. The visual reports of the incident depict a merciless and inhumane act of genocide, as if the world is relegated to a realm devoid of responsibility/accountability and any shred of human conscience. Reports from Najaf, specifically from the office of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani (may Allah prolong his life), indicate that sorrow, grief, profound pain, and intense sympathy are apparent and deeply felt by His Eminence, as well as by all the staff at the office and the general public, including religious scholars, esteemed professors, respected students, and all believers. His Eminence beseeches Allah Almighty with prayers for the support of the oppressed in Palestine. Once again, the Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf expresses its solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and stands by them in their demand for their rights, affirming that there is no solution except ending the occupation in all its forms. “Indeed, to Allah, we belong and to Him, we shall return.”

That is a cultural preference, not Islamic. People do what they want according to their family history. I know an Iranian man who married a white revert American woman and so his kids are half Iranian/half American. A white revert sister met his wife in the Islamic Center and mentioned that she is also married to an Iranian man and it would be a great honor if their families could get together and discuss marriage of her son to the sister's daughter, after all, they have so much in common. However, the sister rejected the idea and said that her husband's belief is that their sons and daughters will marry only people from his own village in Iran, who are well known to their family.
