  1. would they serve to justify atrocities and damage done by others?
  2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4295111.stm A teenage girl and two young men in Iran have been sentenced to lashes for having sex. The court dismissed the girl's claim that she was raped. It said she had sex of her own free will, the official Iran Daily newspaper reported. The girl was sentenced to 100 lashes because her accusations of rape and kidnap could have landed her partners a death penalty, the Tehran judge said. Sex outside marriage is illegal in Iran and capital punishment can be imposed. The young men in the case were sentenced to 30 and 40 lashes each. snip....
  3. stupidstupidstupid. Jesus, is a great guy, i promise; He just sometimes doesn't always send the best representatives.....
  4. maybe He was just bored? i remember back when AID's first became big; a famous conservative christian minister declared that it was God's judgement on the Homosexual lifestyle. then someone informed him, that, actually, statisucally speaking, the population with the lowest percentage of AID's cases was lesbians. forced to either admit that he was wrong or that God loved lesbians the most; he chose the third way out and simply never mentioned the subject again. :P
  5. precisely; losing fights is not an option you can willingly allow.
  6. that's interesting; christians use music to celebrate and spread our faith.
  7. not sure exactly how this transfers, but given the choice between following Christ and living, i will (hopefully) follow Christ.
  8. well to us it's more of a look at the tactic used than it is who one is fighitng.
  9. firstly, as a christian, i can tell you right off you're not going to convince us that Jesus was a fictional character, because we know Him personally; we have a personal relationship with Him. secondly, the claim that Jesus is the Osiris character (much like the claims that Jesus is really mithras and a dozen other ancient god-figures) has already been considered and rejected by the academic community. possibly one of the better pieces i found that went through the research was http://www.tektonics.org/osy.html , hope that helps.
  10. i repeat, this is hardly what the "ranks" think.
  11. i and most troops and most importantly, most voters don't want to be there, especially long term. any politician who advocated staying there like we are longer than neccessary to set up a good, stable, decent government would be thrown out on his ear. yes, your chances increase if you are motivated; however, i do happen to believe that the people of iraq deserve a decent representative government, and that those who claim they cannot handle one solely because they are islamic are wrong. so no brainwashing needed.
  12. seriously? i think the wall may take us along way towards peace.
  13. pork and human taste the same? how do you know? from what i've been given to understand, human meat is actually much sweeter.
