    I do not believe a miracle can be proven (against the sciences of the time) except if it came with a prophet. This is why I believe the Quran passes our generation's tests and will continue to do so.

    Brother Ali, those whom are telling you the Prophet (pbuh) said "Wa Sunnati" are not scholars simply because they failed at validating their sources (researching). They are parrots.

    The end of the verse quoted above is important.

    "But guard your oaths. Thus does Allaah make clear to you His verses [i.e. revealed law] that you may be grateful." [Quran 5:89]

    Guard your oath.

    if you want to break it to do HARAM. For example if you promised not to steal anymore, then not only is breaking your promise HARAM... it is HARAM upon HARAM. Think of it like how a person becomes a muslim and then apostates. It is pretty bad if you are promising NOT to do Haram, then you want to go back to haram AFTER realizing you MUST NOT. Abstinence from Haram daily is the BIG jihad.

    May Allah open your eyes to the truth that will burden you on the day of judgment.

    Please pray for my brother, he is lost in misguidance.

    After watching 20+ episodes of a documentary about this, it's getting on my nerves. It's got some good points in it, but it features too much HARAM. Almost doing a COUNTER effect of the message it is preaching. Saying InshAllah and sorta preaching islamicaly + showing all this sexuality DOES NOT MIX. It is better to not watch these videos.

    To be honest, the whole secret society thing is probably boasted and blown out of proportion by those societies involved to scare people and give them the impression that they control everything. Look at it this way, Shaytan has forever whispered to lead societies into Haram, these theories are trying to take credit for Shaytan's work lol.

    Any thoughts or insight into this topic?

    About Mutaa there are rules and laws governing the act. You cant go to Hajj whenever you want and just do your own thing can you? Muta is the same.

    From Shia Encyclopedia:

    Fixed-Term/Temporary/Pleasure/Mut'a Marriage is a contract between a man and woman, much in the same way the Long-Term/Conventional Marriage is. The same vows are exchanged by the partners or their authorized representatives in both cases, including stating the dowry. In temporary marriage a fixed period of time (like one year, four years of college, etc.) should be clearly specified. After the expiration date of the marriage, the couple must either extend it to another specified time or they will automatically separate without divorce, and the woman must count the "Iddah" (waiting period) before which she can not marry any one else.

    This defeats the idea of prostitution.

    Yasir Habib is an extremist. Shaitan is an extremist. Those who take parts of the religion and leave parts are kuffar according to the Quran. Shaitan knew Allah and was a worshipper! but he refused and was a Kaffir. I am not saying Yasir Habib is a kaffir, Allah knows best. BUT Yasir Habib is the cause of FITNA beyond fitna. I'm sure Shaitan knows all the ins and outs of religion and can sound like a good teacher, but he will be damned sure to mask deviations and make them look good.

    No need to listen to him who mixes EVIL with GOOD. There is no shortage of scholars and this man is no scholar.

    This is why we believe in the Esma of the Prophet (pbuh) , we believe he DOES NOT mix bad into good. He is the Messenger from Allah, and the Message is Good, Clean, and Clear.

    Note: Any random reader of Quran will interpret prophet Nooh's wife as an adulteress because it sounds like this from the outwards meanings of the words in the Quran. And she is NOT unanimously in Shia/sunni view. Allah knows best, so we should listen to how his chosen explained these verses.

    I will then keep the name inshallah because like you said, this is a name given to him by God. I really didnt know what to name him until he was born and Subhan Allah the name "Asadullah" settles in my heart when I look at him.

    May Allah bless you and your families with his infinite mercy Inshallah Ameen. I will not forget you Inshallah in my prayers.

    I am in a situation and I need your help.

    Thank be to Allah and his infinite mercy I have just had a son. Previously, I had said I wanted to name him Ali, but my father replied that he would disown my child (his grandson) if I named him Ali or Hassan or Hussain. My Father is does not hate shia, he is not religious at all, born Sunni, and has had a negative reaction to my becoming a shia. That was before the baby was born.

    After the birth of my Son, I had decided to name my son Asadullah. Which is the nick name of the uncle of the prophet and Imam Ali as well. This is also helpful because my father's passed-away brother was named Asad. So I named and filed all the papers.

    Now my father is in an uproar wanting me to change my son's name to Asad (without Allah). I am refusing and thus fighting with my dad all the time.

    My dilemma: I know it is not his right to name my son... but I fear Allah and maybe I am doing something wrong

    Note: I am not fishing for names, so please dont recommend any. Changing the name process will not be easy. The baby is already registered everywhere.

    The part about kids brain washing REALLY struck me! No way is my kid gonna watch any cartoons from now on!

    And just so I am not completely off topic: Thanks be to Allah, I was always aware enough to know the brain washing effects of music. So I used to play the type of music depending on the type of mood I wanted to be in. Once I started practicing Islam, music just dropped by itself. I think once I started trying to memorize Quran is really when my MP3 player was emptied of music.

    It is a fact that Christians propagate the idea that the Quran is an inspiration from the Devil. I talk with believing Christians (Canada) sometimes and tell them of the miracles in the Quran, I have heard them a couple of times reply "The devil is very smart"...

    It's not the devil that is smart, it is they whom are dumb. Allah has already explain this to us. When they see the signs of Allah, they will say surly this is magic.

    It will break your fast if you swallow it, so your next option is to use it, then gargle with water and spit it all out. Otherwise you will most likely swallow.

    Why dont you carry a pocket size mouth wash? use it in the washroom when you need it.

    Buy a big size mouth wash and a pocket size one and keep refilling. I'm sure you will get Hasanat for your effort on keeping your mouth clean during Ramadan if your intentions are good.

    1. Why did God wait so long before revealing Himself ?

    2. Why did God have so many successive religions only to allow them to fail?

    3. Why did He reveal the Bible and then allow it to become corrupt?

    4. Why wait for another religion to be so well established before revealing His Final "Truth"?

    1. Revelation began with Adam and no nation was left without a guide. So no delay there.

    Note: We have a narration which means: The Earth is never without an EXCUSE (Hujja). An Excuse meaning something which will be "evidence" against disbelievers on the day of judgment. This evidence is as concrete as the science of the people of that day. Example: Moses time was a time of Magic, thus the kinds of miracles sent. Jesus was in a time of medicine, so miracles were cures and raising from the dead... etc. This leads to the Quran. It is miracle. What is your solid ground, and we can point you, God willing, to how the Quran is a miracle in that field. Creation? Birth? Science? Space? Language? Medicine? Social Science? What is your solid ground. The Magicians fell prostrating to God when they saw the staff of Moses turn into a snake because they are magicians. They new it was no trick. Where do you want this final revelation to prove itself? The Hujja (excuse) will be, no doubt my friend, cast on you.

    2. No Religion of God has "failed" nor ended. Islam is how God wants to be worshiped. This is the only religion since God created the very first worshiper. There are minor changes in rulings, like number of wives...etc but the core (we call it Aqeeda) is one and has not changed. Which is: There is only one God and there is a day of Judgment. There will be an accounting for everything.

    3. The bible is a code of conduct for that period of time. Example, there was no limit to the number of wives. Why? God knows best. Prophet Jesus peace be on him and his mother, clearly stated Prophet Mohammad to come after him. And the idea of a sealer of prophets and messengers has been known since the beginning. Adam asked for nearness to Allah by the mercy of Mohammad and Ale Mohammad.

    4. Again, this is not another religion, but I think you get that now. This is the final code of conduct sent by God. The Final Prophet (pbuh) is one of the major signs of the day of judgment (another fact known since the beginning). This will be the standard GUIDE for people until the world ends. Which is not very long (marginally) if we go by your numbers.

    what is the proof for the belief that the 12 imams inherit the knowledge of the prophets?

    Was Al Khider (in the man in Al Kahf) a prophet? Allah says he taught him.

    Imams CAN NOT be Zalemeen, Oppressors.

    Without doubt, among men, the nearest of kin to Abraham, are those who follow him, as are also this Prophet and those who believe: and Allah is the Protector Of those who have Faith.

    And We made them leaders (Imams), guiding (men) by Our Command, and We sent them inspiration to do good deeds, to establish regular prayers, and to practise regular charity; and they constantly served Us (and Us only).

    æóÌóÚóáúäóÇ ãöäúåõãú ÃóÆöãøóÉð íóåúÏõæäó ÈöÃóãúÑöäóÇ áóãøóÇ ÕóÈóÑõæÇ æóßóÇäõæÇ ÈöÂíóÇÊöäóÇ íõæÞöäõæäó(24)

    And We appointed, from among them, Leaders (Imams), giving guidance under Our Command, so long as they persevered with patience and continued to have faith in Our Signs.

    Notice how Imamah is an appointment of Allah. You want more proofs of Imamah, search for it.

    and what is the proof the the imams have knowdlge of the unseen?

    They only know what Allah tells them. They, as people, have no knowledge except that which Allah has revealed.

  24. Intercession In Islam

    No one disagrees with you on this brother. I have read a narration of an imam (as) saying one has not committed shirk until he has prayed, slaughtered, or did dua to other than Allah.

    But we can not disassociate the prophet from Allah, nor can you disassociate the Imams from the prophet.
