shoelace got a reaction from Ejaz in From Surah-e-yaaseen
I have personally experianced physical benefit of surah yaseen....so it all depends on your niyah and your taqwa.so please dont rubbish any claim of Quraan or waliullah if you dont have knowledge about it.
people thinks keeping taweez or asma hu husna(name of Allah) in pocket wont have any physical effect but in reality it does have effect.

shoelace reacted to satyaban in Mutah Oh Yea!
I gave this thread a misleading name because mutah is irresistible around here.
I really feel for Muslimas. They are so objectified on threads like is it OK to do mutah with a virgin without asking her father? What the question is really asking is "Is it OK to ruin this woman in the eyes of other men without asking her father? Phrased either way who really believes any father would say "Yea go ahead make it much harder for her to find a husband because you have taken her virginity. I don't mind because I am an idiot and don't care about my daughter."
There is another thread where this very young woman made the mistake of entering mutah with a butt hole who abuses her and she is asking for help. She wants to know if she can now deny him sex, this poor woman is losing her own self worth. I didn't comment on the thread because I am not a Muslim nor am I familiar with a system that makes women second class that says they must satisfy the man sexually. Does that go both ways does the man have to satisfy his spouse when she wants it?
I am fortunate enough to live in a society where lose of virginity does not devalue a woman and she does not suffer for having given it up.
shoelace got a reaction from ImAli in How The Jews Got Ten Commandments. (humour).
HOW THE JEWS GOT TEN COMMANDMENTS
God went to the Arabs and said, "I have Commandments for you that will
make your lives better."
The Arabs asked, " What are Commandments? Can you give us an example?"
God said, "For example, Thou shall not kill."
The Arabs were shocked, "What? Not kill? No way! Killing and
massacring innocent people is our birth-right and the only reason for
our existence. No, we are not interested."
So God went to the Africans and said, "I have Commandments."
The Africans wanted an example.
God said, "For example, "Honor thy Father and Mother."
The Africans were dismayed. They said, "Father? Yo maan! Can't tell
for sure who our fathers are, maan!"
So God went to the Mexicans and said, "I have Commandments."
The Mexicans wanted an example.
God said, "For example, Thou shall not steal."
The Mexicans were flabbergasted. They said, "No steal? No steal??
Hey Senor, we no steal then how we live, huh? Gracias, but no!"
So God went to the French and said, "I have Commandments."
The French wanted an example.
God said, "For example, Thou shall not commit adultery."
The French were stunned. They said, "What? Not commit ze adultery?
Non, non, non. Non Monsieur. Pardonnez nous. We, ze French, must have
So God went to the Jews and said, "I have Commandments."
The Jews asked, "Commandments? How much do they cost?"
God replied, "Nothing. They are free."
The Jews answered, "GREAT! Give us --- Ten!!!!"
shoelace got a reaction from Light of Ali in Self-flagellation Is Not Endorsed By Shia Scholars
Self-flagellation is not endorsed by Shia scholars
As salaamu alaikum,
Self-cutting, blood-soaked, adrenaline-charged, bare-chested men - This is one of Shia Islam's most prominent representations. The question is - Does Islam really permit all this? Learned Shia scholars outline a difference between a cultural act and a religious one. A cultural act is permitted as long as it does not interfere with religious principles and jurisprudence. Self-flaggelation is a cultural act and religion does not endorse it.
