  1. I'm undergraduate mechanical engineering student from Pakistan. I'm in my 6th semester and we(me and my group mates) are looking forward to start our work on the project after the end of this semester (semester is almost ending). So far in our course of study we have found the subjects of thermodynamics and heat transfer to be most interesting of all subjects. So we want our project to be related to these fields. Apart from this i have also watched a lot of documentaries and stuff on IC engines and im quite fascinated by engines as well. We want to make a project that is not totally researched based i.e. it shouldn't be like all work is done on softwares with no touch on the practical side. Neither do we want to invent something completely new or something like that. We want to make the type of project that is appreciated by industry so that if any of us tries to enter industry right after bachelors degree without a masters degree, he doesn't face any problem. I would like some guidance on final year project along with suggestions (title of project with some info etc.) Thankyou.
  2. Use of music as stress reliever or as you said in healing formulas is not taken for granted. It's just a proposed stuff which is not approved medically. I mean that no doctor would ever recommend a depress patient to listen to some soft music instead of prescribing him antidepressant medicine or some relaxant. Prohibition of music is just like that of alcohol. Although a sip of beer would not make you dizzy or lose control but even a sip is not allowed....why??....because what is there to ensure that today you are taking one sip and tommorrow you wont take another and then half a glass?...the thing is a sip won't make you lose control but it can quite possibly serve as a door to addiction....addiction only needs a sip.......a boy would have just a single puff of cigarette with his firends in his college but that is enough to make him an addict, smoking a dozen cigarettes in a day after a few months....problem is addiction. Music opens the door to you emotions....that frenzy of emotions you may see in clubs and bars is fueled by music..can you imagine a lot of dancing and partying without music??...music is not allowed even when you are not in a club and you are not dancing because of our vulnerability to addiction....have you seen people who are obsessed with music?...if not you may study the personality traits of some musicians(lady gaga would be nice for a start  ) ... Music is for amusement and entertainment. There is no good in it.It's just a waste of time.
  3. What is the difference between Quran and other holy books?is it just that others got altered and Quran was not altered?no other difference?
  4. Western world is ahead in technology. To be ahead in technology you need to be studying mathematics and sciences. Do muslims study mathematics and sciences?how many do? As far as i have seen most muslims consider religion and science to be conflicting. So what muslims want is that they study books of religion not science and mathematics and than emerge out as technologically advanced nation...what an irony! Muslims are supposed to be great mathematicians and scientists and engineers and doctors...these are the fields of knowledge which reveal the patterns found in the universe..these patterns suggest a creator and give you the feeling of existance of God and make the foundations of what we call faith.
  5. Basically my question stil remains....why a final word?what is the meaning of the final word?what wasn't there in Torat, zaboor and injeel that they couldn't be deemed as final word? According to my little understanding its not the quality of example that makes a Prophet great. If Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) and Prophet Musa(a) and Prophet Esa(a) would be present at the same time than it would not be any different to follow either of the three because as far as living the life and manners of how to talk and everything is concerned i don't think the Prophets were different in this regard....Every Prophet was the perfect man...Ranks of Prophets as far as i understand are on the basis of their knowledge which is ultimately understanding of God. It is just like if you ask a kid in 5th grade to write down english alphabets and you ask a student of 10th grade to write down english alphabets would there be any difference?but if you ask a 10th grader to tell you about lets say history and you ask a 5th grader than you will feel the difference...english alphadets are just too easy.. i think that on the level of such grand knowledge that someone is a Prophet, setting an example for man is a very easy thing...Prophets have ranks on the basis of knowledge and understanding of God which is beyond the grasp of any man...God knows what mysteries do the Propets know....how deeply they understand life and creation...i dont think we can't even imagine that...thats why we cant be the authority to tell who is a better Prophet, God is. Anyways my question persists,
  6. Salam I've been searching if anyone asked our Imams(a) or our Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) that why is there a need for a seal for prophethood?why should there be a last prophet?why a last message? The world did not stop changing after the time of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh). Why didn't Prophethood continue till the end of the world? Does anyone know about any such discussion held with Imam(a) or Prophet(pbuh)?
  7. Thankyou for answers. And special thanks for the link of dialogue between mamun and our ImamÚáíå ÇáÓáÇã
  8. Intelligence is something you can neither increase nor decrease. It is the tool which extracts knowledge from things around you. What you can increase is your knowledge and understanding of things by using this tool efficiently. So increase your knowledge through study and thinking and contemplation and IMAGINATION!
  9. "And he entered the city at a time when its people were not watching: and he found there two men fighting,- one of his own religion, and the other, of his foes. Now the man of his own religion appealed to him against his foe, and Moses struck him with his fist and made an end of him. He said: "This is a work of Evil (Satan): for he is an enemy that manifestly misleads!"" (28:15) This verse tells us that Prophet Moses(a) killed a man and then repented and said that "this is the work of evil(satan)". It seems very unlikely that a senior Prophet like Prophet Moses(a) could do such a thing when God has already said that satan has no control over believers: "No authority has he over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. His authority is over those only, who take him as patron and who join partners with Allah." (16:99-100) Im not having any doubts regarding position of Prophet Moses(a)...I know there is something that im not understanding....so anyone knows complete incident of Prophet Moses(a)?
  10. Language is not a barrier to spreading of knowledge. Had language been a barrier to knowledge, works of french scientists would've remained in France only and no one who didn't know french would've known who's Louis Pasteur. Arabic language has so many meanings that's why 6666 verses of Quran claim to engulf knowledge of heavens and earth. To avoid misinterpretation Quran was sent along with its teachers who were our Prophet(pbuh) and Imams(a). If you want to convince someone than the art of argument is that you provide evidence from something that your opponent thinks as authentic so an atheist doesn't care whats written in Quran. You need to explain intelligent design of universe to convince an atheist. But the point is that are we ourselves convinced enough of God's existence?or are we Muslims just because we have no other religion and we are left with Islam?
  11. And which religion are you planning to join? Don't tell me you are about to join the human right organization my firend :)
  12. I agree with "Rational Thinking" competely. Had there been lets say 17 Imams it would've been questioned why are there 17 and why not 12.
  13. "In the absence of any other proof, the thumb alone would convince me of God's existence"-Sir Isaac Newton
