  1. (salam) I agree brother, sayid khamenei just sits back on a pulpit and reads to us wasail al-shia, he has absolutely done nothing for the sake of the islamic ummah. Why should we bother with such leaders!?
  2. (salam) May Allah keep us away from such filth (yasser al habib) and that other maniac mujtaba shirazi!
  3. (salam) Yes absolutely i can see that, but allahu a'lam how he (a.s) knew that the parties were ascending and descending according to sermon 196, anyhow there is also another narration that i would like to add: He (the narrator) said: "What is MuSHaf of Fatima?" He said: So he was silent for a while. Then he (عليه السلام) said: "You inquire of which you want, and about which you don’t really want. That FaaTimah (عليها السلام) lived after the Messenger of Allah for seventy-five days. She entered in severe depression because (of the death) of her father. Jibra’eel (عليه السلام) would come to her so he would provide her (with) solace because (of the death) of her father. Jibra’eel (عليه السلام) would comfort her soul. Jibra’eel (عليه السلام) would inform her about her father and his place and about what would happen after her (death) about her progeny. And `Alee (عليه السلام) would write this, and this the MuSHaf of FaaTimah (عليه السلام)." Source: 1. Al-Kulayni, Al-Kaafi, vol. 1, pg. 241, hadeeth # 5 2. Al-Majlisi said this hadeeth is SaHeeH (Authentic) à Mir’aat Al-`Uqool, vol. 3, pg. 59 http://www.revivinga...haf-fatima.html We might say that well fatima (a.s) and ali (a.s) probably didn't see jabra'eel with their eyes, however they could have. wa salam
  4. (salam) Yes i understand what your saying and you could be correct, there is also another sermon in the same book, which is also interesting: From SERMON 196 Amir al-mu'minin's attachment to the Holy Prophet. The performance of his funeral rites. When the Prophet - the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him and his descendants - died his head was on my chest, and his (last) breath blew over my palms and I passed it over my face. I performed his (funeral) ablution, may Allah bless him and his descendants, and the angels helped me .The house and the courtyard were full of them. One party of them was descending and the other was ascending. My ears continually caught their humming voice, as they invoked Allah's blessing on him, till we buried him in his grave. How did he (a.s) know some were ascending and others descending? he also saw the courtyard full of them. wa salam
  5. (salam) It is assumed or taught that the Imams (a.s) can only HEAR the angels, but cannot SEE them, which can be based on the hadith below, HOWEVER there are other narrations found in our books which shows that they could possibly SEE angels. Firstly, let us look at this narration: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْأَحْوَلِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع عَنِ الرَّسُولِ وَ النَّبِيِّ وَ الْمُحَدَّثِ قَالَ الرَّسُولُ الَّذِي يَأْتِيهِ جَبْرَئِيلُ قُبُلًا فَيَرَاهُ وَ يُكَلِّمُهُ فَهَذَا الرَّسُولُ وَ أَمَّا النَّبِيُّ فَهُوَ الَّذِي يَرَى فِي مَنَامِهِ نَحْوَ رُؤْيَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَ نَحْوَ مَا كَانَ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مِنْ أَسْبَابِ النُّبُوَّةِ قَبْلَ الْوَحْيِ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ ع مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ بِالرِّسَالَةِ وَ كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ ص حِينَ جُمِعَ لَهُ النُّبُوَّةُ وَ جَاءَتْهُ الرِّسَالَةُ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ يَجِيئُهُ بِهَا جَبْرَئِيلُ وَ يُكَلِّمُهُ بِهَا قُبُلًا وَ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ مَنْ جُمِعَ لَهُ النُّبُوَّةُ وَ يَرَى فِي مَنَامِهِ وَ يَأْتِيهِ الرُّوحُ وَ يُكَلِّمُهُ وَ يُحَدِّثُهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَكُونَ يَرَى فِي الْيَقَظَةِ وَ أَمَّا الْمُحَدَّثُ فَهُوَ الَّذِي يُحَدَّثُ فَيَسْمَعُ وَ لَا يُعَايِنُ وَ لَا يَرَى فِي مَنَامِهِ “I asked abu Ja‘far, recipient of divine supreme covenant, about the messenger, the prophet and al-Muhaddath (one to whom Divine guidance is reported). The Imam, recipient of divine supreme covenant, said, ‘A messenger is one to whom Jibril (Gabriel) comes openly. He sees him (the angel) and speaks to him. Such person is a messenger. A prophet is one who sees in his dream something like the dream of Abraham (peace be upon him). (Of such dreams) is the dream of the Messenger of Allah, recipient of divine supreme covenant, about reasons and signs of prophecy before the coming of revelation. (He would experience such dreams) until Jibril came from Allah to inform him that he was to be a messenger. In the case of Prophet Muhammad, recipient of divine supreme covenant, when prophecy was established in him then Jibril brought him the message that he was to be a messenger. Jibril would come and speak to him openly. Certain prophets, in whom prophecy had been established, saw in their dreams, the spirit who would come to them, speak and report to them but they would not see the spirit when awake. “Al-Muhaddath is one to whom matters of Divine guidance are reported and he hears the reporting but does not see (the angel) openly or in his dream.’” Source: Al-Kulaynee, Al-Kaafi, vol. 1, pg. 176, hadeeth # 3 Grading: Al-Majlisi said this hadeeth is SaHeeH (Authentic) --> Mir'aat Al-'Uqool, vol. 2, pg. 289 Summary (hadith above) of the differences between a Messenger (Rasool), Prophet (Nabee), and Imaam (Muhaddath). Messengers: They see & hear the angel whether they are asleep or awake. Prophets: They see & hear the angel while asleep, but when they are awake they can only hear. Imaams They can ONLY hear the reports, but they DO NOT see the angel whether they are asleep or awake. But what could we say about this sermon below? From SERMON 191 (Nahju Balagha) Known as "al-Khutbah al-Qasi`ah" When the revelation descended on the Prophet of Allah - peace and blessing of Allah be upon him and his descendants - I heard the moan of Satan. I said, "O' Prophet of Allah, what is this moan?" and he replied, "This is Satan who has lost all hope of being worshipped. O' `Ali, you see all that I see and you hear all that I hear, except that you are not a Prophet, but you are a vicegerent and you are surely on (the path of) virtue." Please explain, wa salam
  6. (salam) InshAllah we can get more information on this, imagine having a marja3 that you can see on Tv all the time smashing the wahabis lol wa salam

  8. (salam) yes they are the exegerrators. and for an insight into their beleifs heres a hadith from one of their books in relation to this discussion that im talking about: Door # 38 “The Killings of the Imams and Prophets” Mufaddel said to Imam Jafar al-Sadiq: “Tell me about the death of the Imam and his killing and how is that?” The imam smiled until his gums showed and then said: “You must be talking about Al Hussein and his slaughter, and the killing of the Prince of the believers, and the killing of Zachariyah, and (the killing of) John the Baptist (prophet yahya), and (the killing of) Jesus. Mufaddel said: That was in my chest”. The Imam replied: “Verily those O Mufaddel are the purified of Allah and his preferred ones and his goodness, do you believe he would allow them to taste the pain of the iron at the hands of their enemies?” “And it is only in the apparent (made to seem that way) as a confirmation of Allah’s proof upon them. As for them actually being killed or slaughtered, verily Allah protects his preferred ones and purified ones from that and Peace”. reference: -KITAB AL SHARIF, door 38 (alawite nusayri book) wa salam
  9. (salam) I have been having alot of discussions with many brothers not too much from the ahla sunnah but many amongst the ghulat about the topic of infallibility. I need more information about how the infallbles (pointing to the prophet and the imams) live their life: the sort of questions mostly posed by the ghulat to me are: -if they are infallible , then do they get rewarded for the actions that they do, even though Allah has promised them jannah? - if Prophet (s) and the imams (a.s) are born infallible and they don't choose to sin, then how can they elevate throughout their lives ? -how can an infallible get killed and die? why would Allah let the infallibles face death. (remember they were pointing to me that the prophet and imams don't die - ghulat beleif). -what happens after their death? do they get questioned like us on the day of judgement, if they lived such a perfect life without sin. those ae some of the questions, hope someone can help me out here. inshallah more questions to come. wa salam
  10. (salam) I received a question from a sunni brother who has great respect for us shias. He's having a debate with a christian on the topic of pedophilia and he had trouble in answering his question about what imam khomeini (r.a) had said. He's the question: Here is his quote : I know you guys are fed up with this but the best proof of 'thighing' or 'mast.....' babies comes from a man named 'The Ayatollah Khomeini' who was the man that led the Islamic Revolution which established the Islamic Republic of Iran in... 1979. I know you referred to whoever said this as just some 'bad apple' which he obviously was... But anyway - He died in 1989, and the current Ayatollah Khameini took over the reins of power from him at that time. So firstly this man is/was an important figure in islam - correct?? I may be wrong.. Now, in a quote from a fatwa by the late and unlamented Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran it says - "A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, other sexual acts such as foreplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed. A man having intercourse with a girl younger than nine years of age has not committed a crime, but only an infraction, if the girl is not permanently damaged. If the girl, however, is permanently damaged, the man must provide for her all her life. But this girl will not count as one of the man's four permanent wives. He also is not permitted to marry the girl's sister." He also says in his Little Green Book - “It is not illegal for an adult male to 'thigh' or enjoy a young girl who is still in the age of weaning; meaning to place his penis between her thighs, and to kiss her. Yes, indeed, you can be a good Muslim while copulating with the thighs of an infant." Now I do stress - I have no idea wether this man has any authority, apart from the fact that he was an islamic 'supreme leader' in Iran - under sharia law etc.. I could well be wrong, but normally I would understand a 'supreme leader' to literally be a 'supreme leader' and to be authoritative - at least to the people under his rule - in the things in which he teaches.. And I might say - that it appears the term 'mast.....' may have not been the appropriate word to describe this behaviour.. As he said in his own words that it was merely 'enjoying a young girl'... Finally to finish off - this behaviour is translated 'thighing' in English - but in arabic it is 'Mufakhathat.. That is all the proof I could find" End of quote How should i reply back to him?
  11. (salam) ive been getting asked by many as to if its harom to have pictures of the imams faces, if we are not allowed to draw images of the Prophet (s) then why the imams (a.s)? what do the scholars say about this? wa salam
  12. (salam) does anyone have the arabic translation for this hadith and if the reference below is correct: The holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) said: One who starts a morning in a condition that he doesn't make effort about the affairs of the muslims is not one of the muslims. And a person who hears the voice of a man who calls the muslims to his help but he does not respond him, is not a muslim. Bihar al-Anwar, V. 74,P.339 wa salam
  13. (salam) is this statement true? wa salam
  14. (salam) Great topic to talk about, i beleive we should all try and contribute by collecting as much hadiths as possible relating to this discussion from both sunni and shia sources and then going over them. wa salam
  15. (salam) thanks heaps for the information brother ill have a read and then get back to yous if i have some more questions. wa salam
