  1. assalamu `alaykum wa rahmatullah Thank you. :)
  2. assalamu `alaykum Just wondering if you have a textual reference for this. Thank you.
  3. wa `a;aykum assalam That is exactly what I did.
  4. assalamu `alaykum I tried using Google to search site:shiachat.com. It didn't work. Then I tried using the search function here to look for the same item. Nothing. I tried for two different search terms at two different times (scholars, and taqlid). This was the first time that I did a Shiachat search in a few years. Has something happened to the search function over the past few years?
  5. I specifically referred to "other issues" in a previous post where I said that I have suffered no ill effects from riding bikes and horses. Culture has no place meddling with religion, and it should not pretend to pass itself off as science. When culture fits with Islam, alhamdulillah. But there is no need to stuff culture down people's throats and call it either religion or science.
  6. Some do , some don't If any of the mods know how to remove attachments on our posts, feel free to remove the pic that I attached. I don't know how to get rid of it; and I was able to successfully img tag in the photos that I wanted.
  7. And gardening, and impromptu shelter-making. Dude, we should set up a survivalist tread somewhere. :))
  8. Also keep in mind the importance of the knowledge of a martial art, especially for women. Mashallah, sister :)
  9. Assalamu `alaykum I have ridden bikes and, occasionally, horses throughout my life and experience no problems whatsoever today as a result. Sidesaddle is an option, yes, but it should not be considered the *only* way for women, especially in an era when we need to be self-sufficient and resliliant.
  10. assalamu `alaykum wa rahmatullah, sister I am fast discovering the intricacies of caring for a horse - without the many more complications of ownership, of course. See you at RMA :)
  11. assalamu `alaykum This is a relief to know, but did you guys hear from an `alim that these sayings referred to skills of bravery and not specifically horsemanship, acrhery, and swimming specifically forever? You breathe very well for someone whose throat got slit. :D
  12. assalamu `alaykum wa rahmatullah Follow-up Q: is it wajib? (Ayt Sistani)
  13. Assalamu `alaykum These are only my opinions. If saving one life is like saving all of humanity, then saving several lives would be like saving several humanities. It sounds as if your friend was grasping at anything that might support his actions. What he did was fine, but you are correct that spreading the wealth around would benefit many more people. and thus be more beneficial to society in general. This is especially so if that money is invested in such a way that institutions are established or jobs created so that people can become more self-sufficient. Those were only my opinions.

  15. assalamu `alaykum, brother Thank you for all of your hard work. It wasn't the topic of nifas that had me curious so much as whether there are fiqhi ahadith transmitted by or through women. Are you able to find things from Lady Fatimah about hijab? I think that there are some popular sayings of hers related to that topic. Of course, I am asking you because you are excellent with referencing. Is there anything at all that is recorded from Lady Zaynab?
