  1. Assalaamun Alaykum, Taking a single verse and literally in every aspect isn't the right way to prove a point of course, we are being warned against polytheism in the verse prior, so this helps with context. [10.105] And that you should keep your course towards the religion uprightly; and you should not be of the polytheists. The best advice I would give is to read from a true Scholar who has answered this amazingly well, Shaykh Murtadha Mutahari (a.r) has covered this in this great book. Man And Universe | Al-Islam.org
  2. Control what you can control and that is you, try not to give away energy worrying about other's behaviour. I know of a young man whose father has been doing this fainting stuff for years and his son would just get angrier and angrier,, we had many chats and then one day he the son eventually decided it was his attitude that needed to change. This young man bought his father a present and made efforts to be nicer, this had an immediate positive effect,, the problem hasn't gone away completely but they are now moved forward and in a better place dealing with one another. Work on your own mindset and behaviour with her and everyone, live your life and let your mother in law get on with her dramas, you may notice the drama will become less frequent and maybe eventually even stop Insha'Allah.
  3. Already explained and many evidences as above, what I wanted to add, we should suggest to people who say these things, please visit any Shia centre/Masjid and pick up the Quran, We don't have an equivalent bat signal saying 'non shia alert' so anyone can walk in, simply go and see and also whilst there ask questions of the Alim. (21.18) Nay! We cast the truth against the falsehood, so that it breaks its head, and lo! it vanishes;
  4. (Sheikh Yasser Al-Habib has written the screenplay. He is a Kuwaiti Shia Muslim cleric) A true Shia Muslim Cleric would promote love and unity amongst Muslims, let's make this clear, we cannot call this guy a Shia Muslin Cleric,,,, many will wear the Turban but few will be worthy of it, some a lot less worthy than others....
  5. Assalaamun Alaykum, Lots of good advice already posted, I'm sure you are doing this already but just so that it is said: Make dua for others, even a random Muslim you see in the street and don't know... i.e. make dua for other people regularly as well as ask for yourself and your family and close ones. We pray for heaven and dream about getting there, when in reality heaven is below the feet of our mothers, someone who prays for heaven should therefore show amazing kindness to their mother,,, whatever it is that you are in need of, read about it according to Islamic teachings then do deeds that are related as in the simple example above,, maybe what is meant to manifest for you will please you in a way you wouldn't have been pleased if the original had been granted. Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) sometimes doesn't grant a dua or delays it, simply because he loves to hear the voice of his servant pleading to him...
  6. W salaam, Have you tried to call Sayyid Seestani's office? best to pick up the phone immediately if not,, don't wait for an email response as everyone is busy in this last part of the month of Ramadhan.
  7. NOT yuheetoona beshai in min 'ilmihee: Best thing to do is listen to it, use the link below Insha'Allah Surah Al-Baqarah - Ayatul Kursi - Quran.com
  8. Dear Brother Shakeel, Assalaamun Alaykum, Please be gentle with your wife regarding this, this is where your love of Ahlul-Bayt((عليه السلام)) needs to turn into action according to their example. The only way you will help her is by being gentle and kind and proving the kindness and greatness of the Ahlul-Bayt((عليه السلام)) through your manners, your wife is entitled to have her view and seems like she is of those that doesn't want rational proof, people like this maybe are more affected by not speaking about anything but just with good Akhlaaq.
  9. Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) alleviates our problems in various ways , so anyone who helps remove our problems is a help from Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). When Rasul Ullah(saaw) who speaks not of his own desire (first verses of Surah Najm) but it is only a revelation revealed, when this greatest Prophet(saaw) asks Imam Ali((عليه السلام).) to come to help then you can work out that Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) has given Imam Ali((عليه السلام)) a position to remove problems hence he is 'Muskhil Khusha' by the will of Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and doing the will of Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)..... think about it and you can fill in the rest.....
  10. This is somewhat irrelevant? Firstly since when are all people of any group exactly the same? each human is unique and can make their own decisions. Most people are sinful and some times major sins are also committed, why wouldn't any fair minded person accept someone that repented and wanted to move on correctly with their lives.
  11. 100% , this is why we need to look within and the cleaner we make ourselves the brighter the light of realisation that is within will shine.
  12. Even the Prophet(saaw) had wives who had their own version of being disloyal. The key thing is that you attract souls that are like yours, if someone is a good person Insha'Allah they will attract a spouse who is likewise. However, a vital point is we must continue working on relationships as well as all other aspects of our lives, Shaytaan (l.a) doesn't take a day off..
  13. Heaven’s Door: by Sajjad Some doors revolve, and others open wide, Some are kept firmly shut, to keep us aside, There is such a door, from whence wonders transpire, Where the faithful are welcome, the ones who aspire, This door is amazing, that words cannot say, This door shows true guidance, will not let us stray, This door leads to Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), the sublime the Most High, This door renews souls, revives those who might die, This door is so fragrant, sweet of the pure scent, This door takes the truth with it, wherever truth went, This door’s faith is so high, that highest peaks loom so low, This door's light is as such, the speed of light renders slow, This door opens for, rueful sinners, saints too, This door’s sent by Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), for all to go through, This door’s the gate to Mercy(saaw), sent by the Kind Lord(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), This door was gifted by Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), a double pronged sword, This door’s birth in the Kaaba, the most sacred of space, This door’s honour in birth, or honour for that place? This door was raised in the lap, of the most loved one of all, This door was educated, wrapped up in his shawl, This door was undefeated, in debate duel or deed, This door’s the dot in Bismillah, when we begin to read, This door is the way to know, the sincere from the astray, This door is the path, the light, the one true illustrious way, This door was so strong, Khaibar’s gate he did fling, This door is God’s(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) Lion, the battleground King, This door’s the guide of all, the humans, and the jinn, This door divides creation, the pious from those of sin, This door was so generous, even the enemies did say, This door was so consistent, during war would stop to pray, This door is of such beauty, as moonlight on ocean waves, This door is so alluring, paradise his pure soul craves, This door does not revolve, he shows the straight true path, This door is a sure-fire way to; escape from Allah's(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) wrath, This door is of the greatest, that there has ever been, This door is the like of which, creation has hardly seen, This door is which on each, and every one of us should knock, This door who keeps His(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) secrets, only select ones can unlock, This door is oh so precious, his soul the Lord would buy, This door’s so truly humble, bashfulness becomes shy, This door the poet does say, begins where the intellect ends, This door gave away during prayer, his ring finger he gently extends, This door inspires the sincere, to cleanse themselves of their crime, This door will be honoured in and, throughout the course of time, This door’s selfless perfect soul, asleep in the Prophet’s bed, This door scared the enemies, he slept, and yet they still fled, This door was so benevolent, the assassin if he did just think, This door was so forgiving, offered forgiveness via pure drink, This door is connected to the purest, lady that there’s been, This door was the father of the guides, all perfect and pristine, This door was always ready, and so courageous his whole life, This door was the only one worthy: to marry the greatest wife, This door the father of, Princes Hassan((عليه السلام)) and Hussain((عليه السلام)), This door and his pure children, light up the Creator’s domain, This door is the husband, of the blessed pure Fatimah(s.a), This door is truth in itself, be truth near or be it far, This door is of course Imam Ali ((عليه السلام)), our blessed Imam number one, This door has control over nature, guiding moon, or compelling the sun, This door was so very great, that he performs the One true God’s(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) will, This door was the gateway to, yes, to another man greater still. This door and his greatness send through, our senses a mighty thud, This door led to the best man ever, Yes, to Prophet Muhammad(saaw).
  14. Hi Dave No,, Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is not creation: Quran Chapter 2 Verse 115 will help explain.. And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

  16. Ultimately your friend will go towards what he wants, and it seems like he wants a path to suit himself not to submit to Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). 4: verse 80: He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah; but those who turn away - We have not sent you over them as a guardian.
  17. 1400 years and some Muslims schools of thought haven't even got this right !!! really sad... more reason to plead with people to come to Ahlul-Bayt and at least what they presented about Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), Islam etc..
  18. We now need to pray for his parents as they're test is gigantic and only just begun,,, may Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) give them sabr and strength to somehow get through this back breaking test of losing their son .
  19. Assalaamun Alaykum, Prophet Musa((عليه السلام)) spent years, taught and showed many miracles to his nation, yet the vast majority of his ummah went astray. The people that stayed true to their Prophet Musa's((عليه السلام).) message were those who stuck to the person they were ordered to. They stuck with Nabi Haroon((عليه السلام)) and they remained on guidance whilst the majority around them fell and were worshipping the golden calf having been deceived by the samiri. Simply follow the Haroon((عليه السلام)) of this ummah i.e. Imam Ali((عليه السلام)) and you Insha'Allah will find your way. Was Salaamu Alaykum
  20. Consciously ask the Angels that are with you to join you in salaat each time you pray, whether in jamaat at the Masjid or alone at home, this may help....
  21. The worth of a person who has always remained loyal to Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is for sure better than a person who has disobeyed. Another example, The Scholars teach us that we might look at intellect by way of IQ or how many qualifications we have acquired, but in the sight of Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) real intellect is possessed by those who have remained loyal to Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), they may never have spent a single day in an educational establishment but they are the truly intellectual ones.
  22. Pure Humans are for sure higher in status than Angels. This purity is what we should aspire to even though we have the capacity to sin, this is why pure humans are the best creatures, us ordinary sinners should strive to become more like the pure humans and it is only the pure that can be guides and examples to us the sinful masses as already explained above. Let's use an example which may help, imagine a table which if left alone will remain a table, then the effects from other things produce a layer of dust on that table, a simple wipe and it is clean again and the beauty of the original table is back as it should be. It wasn't the table itself that made itself unclean but it was what else was around it, this may be a way to understand why someone like Prophet Muhammad(saaw) 'repented' in addition to being a true humble servant, Prophet Muhammad's(saaw) repentance wasn't due to his own doing, is was merely cleansing himself from the effects from the many sinful masses that he was obligated to guide and cleanse. Hope this helps.
  23. Human perfection is linked with Tauheed, the more perfect the grasp of and action within Tauheed, the more perfect the person..
  24. Do you believe that you can reach human perfection? if yes, then you will upon reflection realise that Prophets((عليه السلام)) and Imam((عليه السلام)) reached their levels of perfection which is why they can be examples to us ordinary people..
