  1. As-salamu alaikum, I'm looking for the best biography of the Prophet (PBUH&HF) written in or translated into English (from a Shia point of view). Which one(s) do you recommend?
  2. As-salamu alaikum Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shia_Islam_in_Saudi_Arabia Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakhawila
  3. As-salamu alaykum There used to be an Indian organisation sending free Shia books worldwide.
  4. Bismihi Ta'ala As-salamu alaikum Please recommend one or more Shi'i translations of the Quran (English).
  5. As-salamu alaikum, Ramadan Karim! I'm looking for an English translation of sh. Mahmud Abu Riyyah's book "Abu Hurairah - Shaikh al-Mudirah" (أبو هريرة - شيخ المضيرة). The original book in Arabic is found online, but I haven't been able to locate an English translation (I want to share the book with a friend who needs it in English). Does anyone here know of a translation?
  6. (wasalam) Jazak Allahu khairan for your clarification brother Ali. I understand what you are saying now.
  7. (bismillah) One of the brothers remarked: With all due respect - I thought a Muslim was supposed to perform Islamic acts seeking Allah's pleasure and out of love for Him ('azza wa jall) first and foremost.
  8. (bismillah) (salam) I would like to know which of the four Sunni madhahib is closest to the madhhab of Ahlul-Bayt (as). I am speaking of the fiqh as well as the usul etc.
  9. As-salamu 'alaikum, You might find this interesting then: Al-Tirmidhi (1522) narrated that Samurah said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “The boy is in pledge for his ‘aqiqah which should be slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day, and he should be named and his head shaved.” A mursal report narrated by Malik, al-Bayhaqi and others from Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn who said: "Fatimah the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) weighed the hair of Hasan, Husayn, Zaynab and Umm Kulthum, and gave the equivalent weight in silver in charity." Al-Bayhaqi also narrated it in a marfu’ report from ‘Ali ('alaihis-salam) who said: "The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) told Fatimah to give charity equal to the weight in silver of the hair of al-Husayn." Al-Nawawi said: There is some weakness in its isnaad.
  10. As-salamu 'alaykum, I am from Denmark (small Scandinavian country North of Germany) and still live there.
  11. As-salamu alaykum, Brother Hassan, I wanted to PM you, but it seems I can't yet (maybe because I haven't got enough posts under my belt or something). Could you email me, so that I can reply by email? Assuming you don't want to share your email with everyone here. If you can, my email is iskandinafiATgmailDOTcom.
  12. (salam) Some days ago I met a visiting shaykh and he asked if I wanted to go study Islam in Iran (Qum) and that is I want to he will help me in this regard. Studying Islam formally has been a dream of mine, ever since I became a Muslim, so naturally I am thinking about going... Does anyone here have any information to share about going to Iran to study? Especially being a Western revert. Ah yes... I forgot to mention that I am 30 years old and I think I am too old for regular admission, but it seemed like the shaykh had some connections...
