  10. Peace Be With you Like some one mentioned before, selfishness is a human trait and is somthing which cannot be attributed to God because if it is attributed to him it would contradict his other attributes, like i mentioned before, us being created has our benefit in it as we were Nothing and we were made to be Somthing, he elavated our status therefore he cannot be selfish. God Cannot have our attributes but he can place his attributes within us but in a limited form, this is shown in the holy Quran Surah Rum verse 30 "The nature (framed) of Allah, in which He hath created man" Surah Saf(38): (Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly, I am going to create man from clay" (71) And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him in prostration(72) The fact that the nature of Allah has been framed within us shows that he has blessed us with his attributes, Patient , Generous, Forgiving, however it doesnt mean that god is the same as humans, as we have limited form of his attributes, no matter how patient we are God is more patient than us in many ways, no matter how Generous we are God is more generous than us because he is not limited, And because we have the limited nature (attributes) of Allah it becomes our duty to continously change our selves, i.e make our selves more generous, more patient, so that we may become closer to our nature, That is why it is important for one to become a better person through his traits to get closer to his origin. every thing has an opposite similarly if the nature of being Noble is neglected then the person will start to embody the opposite characteristics of being selfish, and other self centred traits may also show up such as the Ego, lack of care and disipline to ones actions causes the negative traits to show up and prevents Man to get closer to its orignal nature. Hope that helps Peace be with you
  11. I shall give you the honour of guessing who i am :)

  12. Peace Be With you It is great to see that you are being open minded and questioning rather than believing what you are told to be gospel truth, Inquiry is great when certain things dont make sense to an individual, May God bless you for that. An interesting topic, a question i was discussing with some one the otherday, why did god create when he didnt need to create? the actual reason as to why god created was to manifest his attributes, one of them being Al Khaliq- the creator, if God did not create, then his attribute of being The creator would not be manifested, the beauty of being a part of his creation is that we too are a manifestation of his attributes, within this it makes sense that we also should respect his other creation because they are also a manifestation of his attributes in other words his creation. The reason why he has given us free will is so that his attribute of being Just (Adl) is manifested, is it just that God creates only angels to worship him when they have no other choice but to worship himand if somthing has been solely created to worship him without giving them a choice to give them a reward? We as humans have been given free will. Another attribute of his being Al-Hadi(guide) In every humans life there is a point at which this god shows them guidance, but then it is up to the individual to accept the guidance or to reject it, the similtude of this is with pharoah and yazid they were both given guidance by Allah as they had great personalities present infront of them, but they chose to reject the guidance, it would be unjust if God interfered with free will because then punishing them would not be just of him. similarly if one studies in school or Uni it is unjust for one to be tested and not being guided or being told what the test will be based on, therefore Allah has given guidance to mankind because he is just The Concept of Worship has its own entity, God doesnt need to be worshipped but there are some that believe god is worthy of being worship, because they are simply mesmerized by his creation and are in awe to him, some may worship because they fear hell and others may worship because of theyre greed for heaven, but as one of our leaders mentions that the worship of a free man is the best form of worship as it is at this stage the created worships Allah because of who he is, and inorder to get closer to him the servant realises that he needs to perfect himself as a man to get closer to his creator. Imam Ali (as) writes in his hadith "There are people who worship Allah to gain His Favours, this is the worship of traders; while there are some who worship Him to keep themselves free from His Wrath, this is the worship of slaves; a few who obey Him out' of their sense of appreciation and duty, this is the worship of free and righteous men." The fact that we were "forced" in to existance is not logical to me because we were nothing meant that we needed to be somthing before we could be sought whether we wanted to exist on not. but because we were nothing we needed to exist right therefore we were bought to existance, then he gave us free will to choose whether we wanted to believe or not? And the fact that he has brought us in to existance, he has done a favour upon us therefore it is our duty to thank him for that right? Allah states in the quran "Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was not a thing worth mentioning? " Surah Insan (man)76:1 "We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will)."76:3 Us being "forced" in to creation is also a manifestation of another one of his attribute, being The Generous, some times the many things we have we tend to take them for granted, you know whats beautifull is the fact that once apon a time we were NOTHING and God is so generous that he raised us to become somthing, we were somthing which had no value and God gave us a value. Therefore Rather than dismissing his blessings we should be more grateful of them , I hope that made few things clearer if you have any further questions please feel free to ask i will try to answer them with the limited knowledge i have Peace be with you.
