  1. Your problem is that you expect Allah to help you with everything in this life in a way you imagine He should. That is not going to happen. Unless there is no place in the afterlife for you. I used to think and expect like you do until I read a book, by Sulaym bin Qays. In it I read a long hadith which explained that the highest level of hardships in this life befalls the persons of highest ranks in faith, beginning with the Prophets and Imams and then their foremost followers. It explained that always when a Prophet was sent to the people there were always two kinds among people, one who accepted the message and believed, and those who did not believe or only pretended to believe. So then Allah would empower the other kind and give them all the things life has to offer while eliminating their place in the afterlife as these hypocrites and unbelievers ruled over with injustice or oppressed or killed the believing folk. The believers would lose their sins and become pure as a result and their sins are carried over to the unbelievers. There are also plenty of other hadiths supporting the main theme of this. For instance believers would get worried if no hardships would befall them for a while. Think about that.
  2. Wolves are not dogs even though they look similar. And I haven't read a hadith declaring them najis. Also some may be surprised to know that wolves do not consume human flesh even if available, unless properly starving. Whereas people who die alone in their homes are often found half eaten, eaten by their pet dogs and cats, leaving only the hands that fed them intact.
  3. I read that vinegar in water was an organic herbicide alternative so I tried it, to no luck. Did not use table salt because the soil here is already alkaline enough. Then I employed someone to physically remove the knee high weed grass growing by a wall and so many different kind of little weed plants popping up all over in my garden. There is so much and such different variety of weeds here sometimes I think there must be medicinal benefits of at least some of them, or why else would nature grow them everywhere despite repeated removal? I know its the birds and air carrying and dropping all its seed but I find it annoying. Things I plant are so delicate already and then these come in as an enormous competition and nuisance. But I do not use roundup. When I'm bothered enough I will build a portable blowtorch.
[Shakir 49:15] The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger then they doubt not and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah; they are the truthful ones.
  5. Its not up to us to be or not to be a "Shia" according to a hadith. You should pray for more and more guidance. Perhaps then think of the success or failure in the hereafter and if there exists a better deen on the face of the planet which can help. That is what this is all about after all.
  6. This is so funny. N_____b calling each other Khawarij and fighting over it. Like, isn't that just another little medal on your chests?
  7. What do you use instead of Roundup?
  8. For my fellow sci-fi fan and brother Haji 2003. Warning Warning: I watched this alone. I do not recall something extraordinarily haraam but you never know. Sorry. If you really think about it, even the usual western clothing is haraam. Just saying.
  9. The tashahhud, in fact the whole salaat is repeatedly, clearly and in detail taught in hadiths by the ma'soomeen (عليه السلام) again, and again, and again. Especially the tashahhud is also very clear and all the various hadiths talk about (very clearly) "two testimonies" in it. This has been so since 1400 years. Your silasa dispute has very recently popped up, and it has popped up in a far off certain society, and uses only one hadith from only one book written in around 1700 A.D. by a Safavid backed scholar of no renown and the book has things in it that a Shia does not follow however that particular narration has been cherry picked from it for use in contention. To any neutral observer the matter is quite clear. Personally I think it should be clear that we should stick to the instructions of the Imams. And that truth has more chances to have existed 1000 years before and not 1000 years after the Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) in 1700 AD and certainly not now, all of a sudden, by a people of no remarkable knowledge or remarkable virtuous characters. Whosoever wants to disobey the Imams and found their own innovations and new subsect they should not look for approval from others. I am sorry but tough luck, I have not written those hadiths, and I am not the one who defined what 'aql is, and these things go against this innovation in a clear and blunt manner.
  10. Well, I have planted hundreds upon hundreds of Eucalyptus trees (about a few hundred of them), some Banyan and Sacred Fig trees as well as others. They even show in google maps! and I was very happy to see them. I have been planting them since a decade but in 2014 I took some strict measures to protect them and then they took off after the encroaching free free rangers with their animals started to keep away. I think this is my biggest contribution. I also use solar system but the grid is designed in a way that my system's impact alone is not as significant in comparison. I also have biogas, as you may well know already, but they say it also makes CO2. Anyway, recently I have also delved into ethanol production at home after much hesitation and thought and will have my first batch in a few days. I have also spent more time than I would like to mention trying to efficiently employ the process of electrolyzing water and making use of the resulting hydrogen. I have a sure shot 100% working design for that but I have not been able to implement it due to time constraints (use a solar panel to electrolyze and break water at home, collect and dry and purify the hydrogen only (keep the oxygen electrode away and isolated) and then compress the gas into a cylinder and then use that to power your car, in a nutshell). The day is too small to do everything.
  11. I have read some of it. Genesis OT up till the part where, astaghfirullah, Lot's daughters intoxicate him and (...) astaghfirullah, and then the book where Jesus confronts the Jews and they try to have him say something against the Romans, asking him about taxes. In Pakistan, the Bible is widely available, for free.
  12. Wallahu 'aalim. I feel its only another scare tactic in response to Iran's considering blocking the Hormuz strait. As for war, two things. US only bombs and uses mercenaries like ISIS or Qaeda or Blackwater on the ground. Secondly, how are they going to invade Iran when Iran now extends from Lebanon to Syria to Iraq? In case of conflict in the strait of Hormuz Iran has an obvious and big advantage there in its tight confines and adjacency to land. They know it, and it is why I think they are strutting and waving their swords. Regarding Imam, he can appear any time and is not restricted by signs rather signs await the order. To wait is to be ready always.
  13. Thank you so much my friends. May Allah reward you greatly. I am in a habit to revisit the most important of things including re-reading ayahs because I have seen that I sometimes make silly little mistakes. And re-reading these instructions I have again found a few minor corrections important to me and am happy to have made them with your help.
  14. (salam) I remember reading a long hadith by the blessed Imam in which he instructs how to offer prayers (salat) clearly and step by step with words and actions described. However I don't remember which book it was in or who was the author of the book. Can someone please point it out for me? Thanks.
