  10. You cant go wrong with any of the Canons or Nikons. By the way a new Nikon entry level is coming out, the D3000, so you might want to check that out.
  11. Even written over data can be recovered. I think the best is Darek's Boot and Nuke. "DBAN prevents or thoroughly hinders all known techniques of hard disk forensic analysis." http://www.dban.org/
  12. (bismillah) So if those manufacturers are the best, it justifies ignoring Islamic law? :squeez: So since Lenovo is Chinese and not IBM anymore, is it ok to buy them? I really like their laptops.
  13. (bismillah) You might find this helpful: http://www.shiachat.com/forum/index.php?s=...t&p=1922534 The pages attached are the opinion of one of the most learned scholars alive today.

    This fat cat

(bismillah) hmmmm looks delicious, it would make a nice juicy cat grill roast thing. yum yum yum too bad cats arent halal too eat.
  15. (bismillah) I think she means if the qibla (direction towards which we pray) was moved or not. And the reply is yes, it used to be Masjid al Aqsa first and now the Holy Ka'bah.
  16. (bismillah) ummm why is Holocaust denial not allowed? Does one seriously go to jail if he denies it? Like even jokingly?
  17. (bismillah) Depends on what you mean by danger. For me its Karachi. The biggest danger are the monsters in law :P. I dont know if most people will understand this but a person from Karachi should be able to.
  18. (bismillah) Does this come anywhere in the picture:
  19. (bismillah) Thank you for telling the truth about me. I am still a student of basic stuff.
  20. (bismillah) I did not authorize you to speak on my behalf, neither do you have the right to make accusations against me so since you have already formed a rigid opinion all I can do is to request you to ask me (or whoever it concerns) before going around making a ruckus out of nothing. Your analysis is not final or even authoritative. Read my posts again. I see no connection between my posts and whatever accusations you have concocted up, unless you have too much time on your hands and love conspiracy theories. My posts could be a swipe at Allamah Majlisi but thats just one interpretation. Did you care to think of the other possibilities? I am disappointed with you (and didnt expect it from you) that you took this opportunity to take a swipe at me without asking me whats going on with my posts. Anyways I do not really see the reason to address your analysis of my posts but let me go ahead anyways. I am a person who makes an active and very strong effort to post only stuff which is authoritative (or otherwise clearly state it is not 100% sure). This habit has become so strong that sometimes I think I am having waswas (too many doubts). Generally speaking if I didnt have this habit, whatever I post does not have any room for doubts by normal people's standards. So what if I have doubts anyways? Does it have any bearing on the accuracy of the content? In my case thats a definite no. The doubts and accuracy have no reasonable connection. Even marjas have precautions and even they write 'and Allah knows best'. And yes everyone does make mistakes. So what if I make mistakes. Let me not get started on the contradictions of Spizo with the scholars. I state my doubts (which are many a times unnecessary) whereas you dont (or atleast I havent seen you do so). For example your second paragraph is like really . Let me tell you, your analysis is not also authoritative as can be seen by the totally inaccurate stuff you have written in the 2nd paragraph. Did you even care to ask who are these pseudo-scholars I refer to? Do you even know that I base the overwhelming majority of my knowledge from authoritative sources outside of SC (who are more learned than you and just about every person on SC except for maybe a minuscule handful)? Did you care to ask me about the reference to Ayatollah Behjat's words? Did you ask me whether my question to spizo was rhetorical or not? Nope you just made assumptions and said what you said which ended up being completely wrong. Masha Allah, thanks, this is what I have been trying to say but some people's words are final and too authoritative to be challenged.
  21. (bismillah) (wasalam) You can have a look at these: http://sistani.org/local.php?modules=nav&a...60&pid=3159 http://sistani.org/local.php?modules=nav&a...60&pid=3160 http://sistani.org/local.php?modules=nav&a...60&pid=3161 You can also ask a scholar who knows the details of fiqh. If you know Arabic you can refer to the books with more detailed rulings.
  22. (bismillah) (wasalam) Which books are recommended to you depends on how much you already know and what depth you can understand. For websites there is www.al-islam.org which has lots of books online. And for specific books, I say this to everyone, I recommend reading Allamah Majlisi's Essence of Life. If you can get a hard copy good, if not then I can give you an online copy. It benefited me a lot and insha Allah others too.
  23. oh right right sorry. :P ummm so yah how is it Apple's fault?
