  1. Not many shias...and that wasn't the only problem with the documentary either, especially when you take into context how it generalised us all and made it out like we are like wahabies, and Sunnis are the moderates. For instance, it made it out that practices like Intercession (which you would know both Shias and Sunnis do), was solely Shia, and "completely contrary to the Quran".
  2. You can watch what happened here: 9Minutes long. A heated debate.

  5. Salamu alaikom, On Saturday 2nd August, there will be a live debate broadcast on Channel 4 from 4:10PM-4:40PM , called "The TV Show", discussing our many objections to the defamatory and misleading portrayal of the Shia in the "The Quran" documentary, which was broadcast on Channel 4 earlier on in the month. The Film-maker of "The Quran", Antony Thomas, will be there to take questions and commentsfrom the audience, which will include members of the Shia community. Please watch and tune in. W'salam.
  6. I think that they really don't have much to say, so have resorted to talking utter nonsense. Here is Aaqil Ahmeds letter in reply, commissioning editor of Channel 4, published in the Guardian today in the letters section at the back. His arguments are very weak and are actually inaccurate/misleading, and the fact that he tried to justify the misrepresentation of the Shia by dedicating half his letter talking about another documentary on Islam, "The Seven wonders of the Muslim World", proves that he doesn't have much of a leg to stand on. 12. I can now confirm that two representatives of Channel 4 will be at this meeting.
  13. This meeting is more about our course of action. There is a lot we can do, we can't let Channel 4 get away with this. Bro with respect how can such a documentary claim the view of a very small minority of Shias as being the universal Shia view? Here are Some extracts that contained either factual inaccuracies, misleading information on what Shia believe in, or bias/sweeping judgements made throughout the film on Shias, or where they made claims are we were not allowed the right of response, not even once. Not a single British Shia spoke on this program, and Iran was always assimulated with Shi
  14. My pleasure. Yes, this program with its astonishingly inaccurate and misinformed information on the Shia, with its bias so clear for everyone to see is unprecedented in its kind on mainstream British television. Making sweeping statements, for example claiming that Shia practices (which he completely misportrayed) contradicted the Quran. We really have to make our stand strong so this does not happen again.
