  1. We have explicit saying from our Imams warning us not to marry non- Shia (this also includes Nizaris, and Bohra). In theory, it works out but not in practice. I have heard this from people thinking of marrying non Shia or non Muslims for that matter, and most of the time it either ended in divorce or they stop practicing. Hence, the reason why I said it only works when the person is not practising or does not care. Shia Islam is not a religion in a traditional sense, but rather a lifestyle, and has laws and guidance about nearly everything. People who do make such marriage work do it if the Shia stop caring what the Imam says or the Sunni starts to adopt the Shia ways and become a Shia in the process. I would recommend that you learn what is Shia Islam, and the importance of the Imam's Words. I would recommend to start with Then I Was Guided http://www.al-islam.org/then-i-was-guided-muhammad-al-tijani-al-samawi%C2'> Good Luck with your decision.
  2. In Shia Islam, the acceptance of the Imam's wilaya and obedience to the Imam is part of our faith. From this comes the implementation of Islamic laws and guidance. Our Imams have advised against marrying doubters (i.e people who are unsure of the Imam's wilaya and obedience). Hence, Faith is compromised if we do not obey our Imams. Faith at risk is anything that impedes or discourages the person from accepting the Imam's wilaya, the prophet's wilaya, and God's wilaya. We, Shia, have a responsibility to provide an environment where children can accept and understand the Imam's wilaya. We will be held accountable if we do not provide such an environment for our children. All this depends if the person you are seeing actually cares of what the Imams say. If he does not care about the Imams then he wouldn't be considered a Shia anyways.
  3. From my observations, compromise of the faith is the only way such a union works. Our implementation and interpretation of Islam is different from Sunnis. A potential issue would be the upbringing of children (Will they be following the Sunni way or Shia way). There are topics on this site that have discussed this issue such as the one below: http://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/234987703-shia-sunni-marriage-after-effects/ P.S Our Marja does not allowed to marry a Sunni if our faith or our children's faith is at risk.
  4. Hello, I am trying to find a dua'a to remove lust from the heart. I used to have this dua'a years ago, but I now I can't find it anymore. I would appreciate if anyone could provide me a link or a reference to find this dua'a. Thanks!

  6. What if Imam Mahdi (A.S) browses shiachat from time to time? (And we do not know it) That would be interesting
  7. If this Shi'ism was in doubt then why would Sheikh Mufeed rely on Abu Mihknaf's account? I think you need to listen to Ammar Nakshawani (though not a big fan of his) lecture on Kufa. (the link is below) Ismahan: I don't think Haider is implying that the fourth Imam was not sick during the Battle of Karbala. What he is trying to say that there is perception that the Imam was always sick (even after the event of Karbala)
  8. I have no clue what you just wrote, but to clarify, evidence suggets that Abu Mihknaf was a Shia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Mikhnaf).
  9. Sorry about that, should have warned about that. I'll edit in the warning
