  1. I smell the formation of some idiotic cult going on here. Uncle Sami , please stop posting apocalytic conspiracy theory nonsense here unless you are going to provide evidence. Your big claims about having secret insider knowledge from elite circles might even be true but the burden of proof remains on you to back these up. Ahlul bayt 110 , you do not need to quit school or university. And remember that you must obey your parents unless they call you to sin. If they want you to go to uni or school then go to school/uni.
  2. @TheIslamHistory, are there no chains given in the original source for this hadith? Could you please provide some narrations on verse 5:67@ghadeer with either chains or at least statements authenticating them from sunni scholars, otherwise there is not much leg to stand on. What about shia hadith- are there no Shia hadith with chains that attach 5:67 to ghadir?
  3. Why don't you take your friends along to a sham e ghariba majlis next year to lay rest to that nonsense. Facts are 1) We gather in a mosque/islamic centre where we have totally separate mens' and womens' areas. 2) we listen to a poetry and majlis about the oppression of the ladies of ahlul bayt after their men were martyred 3) After majlis we do matam and listen to nauha 4) We eat food distributed in honour of ahlul bayt of Muhammad (sa) 5) In my 38 yrs of life have never witnessed any inacceptable sexual/perverted behaviour after sham e ghariba - May Allah punish me severly if I ever have and I am covering it up 6) muta is temporary marriage 7) we go home after sham r ghariba majlis 8) most shias probably don't even enjoy halal sexual relations with spouses out of grief on that night, let alone hanky panky
  4. Abul hussain, Im struggling to see how the example quoted here implies the verse of balligh was revealed on the day of arafah without subjective interpretation... Could you please provide arabic text in case i am missing some "trick" here?
  5. Thanks for all responses so far. Please, could all please keep this thread very specific. On the topic of ayah balligh, then... Abul Hussain, why do you find this hadith weak or fabricated?
  6. Abul Hussain, are there there no hasan or sahih narrations as rated by scholars from your (guessing sunni) school of thought , that link the verses of tableegh to the date of the ghadeer event? Also, you mentioned weak and fabricated hadith... Which hadith are thoss and who considered them weak/fabricated, and for which reasons? Thanks
  7. Salams all What are the most authentic shia and sunni sourced hadith that link certain verses from the Quran to the event of Ghadeer? And most importantly what are their gradings according to the respective schools of thoughy? The verses under consideration are: 5:3 - Kamaluddin Thanks in advance!
  8. Imamat is proven in Allah demanding unconditional obedience to the leader. The only way to get such a leader that will not command to sin is from divine appointment. Is there any other way to have such a guarantee?
  9. If the prophet was living right in front of them, there was no need to keep reiterating everything the people were already witnessing day to day
  10. Confusion and disarray after the Prophet's death was not owing to any weakness in designation of the imam by the prophet. It was the fault of the people for making confusion for themselves. Eg, denying and hiding ghadeer, refusing him a pen and paper on his deathbed, etc.
  11. He named the first of them (Ali) yet there was still ''confusion'. Would 11 more names have made difference?? In fact, in some accounts he even mentioned hassan and hussain, but there was still confusion. The holy quran says that the Prophet was named as (Ahmed) in the hebrew scriptures yet when he came he was still rejected by most.
  12. Yes, in several places. It is most clearly made a distinct role from prophethood in surah baqarah where prophet ibrahim is promoted to the rank of imamat after passing some trials.
  13. @blacknight, look more closely at the detail of how (w-l-y) has been translated by each author in verse 55 as opposed to verse 56. The translations variance means verses 55 and 56 are not talking about the same thing! So u cannot connect the verses. Also Verse 55 is addressed at All people not just beleivers... if you take wali in v55 to mean friend that would imply Allah is even telling someone like Adolf Hitler that He+prophet+believer are friends to them (!!) and if you take wali to mean helper then that means Allah+prophet+believers are helpers to people like Adolf Hitler. Similarly the protectorship meaning of wali also fails as Allah+prophet+believers have no business protecting ppl like adolf hitler! The only logical definition of wali is AUTHORITY. Then it makes sense that Allah+prophet+believers are an authority over others And finally, since wali means Authority in this context, we clearly cannot have every believer an authority over each other. Therefore, the believers referrered to into this verse must be a subset of believers. Which have been clarified to be only those that gave zakat WHILE bowing
  14. Salam Thanks, lovely dua.. But is there a typo in the arabic print? The english translation says there's the verse, "O He Who provides for infants", but the arabic text doesn't contain something along the lines of "ya raziq at-tifl as-sagheer"...
  15. I think Daniel has done an excellent job of exposing the reality of just how much "love" of Ahlul Bayt there truly is in Ahlus Sunnah wal-jam'ah as a mainstream. Yes, there's a handful of Sunnis to whom ahlul bayt have some meaning. But to the mainstream sect, Ahlul Bayt are an unnecessary inconvenience they can do without. Of course, a fabricated "love" of Ahlul Bayt is quickly spun up at the "right time" - which is usuallly when arguing with (or berating) Shias.
