  1. Link: http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/2563.htm (salam) First I would like to say that being a shia myself I am a strong supporter of the Iranian regime and even though I am not Iranian myself I respect the Iranian people and I really like President Ahmadinejad. However, I came across this video of him stating, "Iranians have a much higher IQ than the rest of the world." Now to make another thing clear I do not speak or understand Farsi so it could be a translation error so correct me if that is what it is. But according to the translation this is what he states. Does he really believe this to be true? Is that not the sort supremacist mentality the Arabs were known for and are still known for by a lot of people. I understand with all the sanctions and what not Iran is put in a tough position and has to defend it self rigorously, but statements like these are quite pathetic and sad. What do other people think? Wasalam
  2. The Quran States: [Yusufali 3:85] If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good).

    Have a Blast........Enjoy !

  5. (bismillah) (salam) One of my distant relatives has passed away from cancer. His name was Mirza Amir Jan Baig please recite al-fathia for his soul and namaz e hadiya-e-mayyit and namaz e wahshat. May Allah bless you all. wasalam Method: NAMAZ-E-WAHSHAT/HADIYA-E-MAYYAT: After the deceased has been buried, it is recommended to recite salatu't- wahshat. This namaz can be said at any time of that night although it is better to say it after the 'isha prayer . Namaz-e wahshat is to be recited once by the wali of the deceased or by someone who has been asked by the wali to do that namaz. The method of offering these Prayers is as follows: (1) In the first rakat, Sura AI-Hamd followed by Ayatul Kursi (once). (2) In the second rakat after Sura AI-Hamd recite 10 times Sura AI-Qadr . (3) After saying Salaam, recite -AlIa Humma Saali, Ala Muhammadin Wa Ale Muhammad Wab'ath Thawabaha Ila Qabri ,.. read the name of the deceased Namaz-e Hadya-e Mayyit means the salat that is done for sending its reward as gift to a deceased person. This salat can be done at any time, as many times, and for as many deceased people as possible, Namaz-e Hadya-e Mayyit can be said like the subh prayer: only the niyyat (intention) will change. However, it is better to do this namaz in the method taught by Imam Ja'far as-sadiq (a.s.) as follows: 1st Rak'at: al-Hamd and then surah al-Qadr once. 2nd Rak'at: al-Hamd and then al-Kawthat once.'
  6. (salam) I think it would have to depend on the particular situation. For example, if the family lives in a country (usually the west) where the government might step in to help with financial troubles if the breadwinner dies then that should be availed. Also if the surviving partners parents/siblings can help then they would provide help, or if the deceased partners parents/siblings can help then they should help. Perhaps marrying again after a certain period of mourning should also be considered. wasalam
  7. (bismillah) (salam) Dear brothers/sisters I hope you are in the best of health and iman. I have been going through a rough time with my health lately, sometimes I become very depressed and start to lose hope. I am trying to keep strong and have faith and hope in Allah (swt). I would request that you kindly pray for me as your brother in faith. I know Allah (SWT) is the hope of those who have no other means of hope. So again please remember me in your duas. Wasalam
  8. (salam) Quite Impressive. May Allah (SWT) bless the Islamic Republic. And... Chill out guys... No need to argue we all know that even though Iran does not have the best cell phone maker in the world, they are working on it. O and I didnt know about this Sherif University. Wow very impressive.
  9. ^ Is that a personal choice based on your own beliefs or one backed by islamic principles?
  10. (salam) Thanks for the replys. I would agree that perhaps endless persecution for centuries has probably had some degree of effect on Shias (not shia islam). But I disagree that we have become unwanting or unwilling to accept converts like the orthodox jews as you mention. And I do agree that Sunnis and the "Salafis" are better at Dawah than us. Its true sister that you wearing the hijab is a form of dawah. But should dawah only be to the extent of our actions/behaviour and not any more than that? I would agree that when it comes to actively going Dawah to different communities the Sunnis are more active. Shia islam is for sure spreading in North Africa. I wonder if thats through any special efforts or just an enlightenment thing.
  11. (bismillah) (salam) Hey I have a question about Dawah in shia islam. I know whenever I listen to lectures by Sunni Scholars they put a lot of emphasis on Dawah especially for those muslims who live in the West. However, I have only heard of maybe one or two Shia Alims who emphasize Dawah most don't really mention it in there lectures. Is it because it is less important to us as Shia muslims or is there some other reason for it. (wasalam)
  12. (bismillah) (salam) I am a little confused about this? How is marrying Ahlul Kitab (for men) not allowed by some maraje? Is it not explicitly stated in the Quran that is is permissble? I know it is in Surah Al-Nisa I will post the exact ayah when I get a chance?
  13. (bismillah) (salam) What a despicable act. Whoever did this cannot be a muslim. May the get the punishment in this world and the hereafter.
  14. (bismillah) (salam) Hope you are doing well. If you dont mind me asking what type of surrogacy is she asking for? Will the it be your genetic baby with the friend's husband or will you just be implanted with the embryo and only be the gestational carrier of thier biological child? I was just wondering because perhaps different laws of Sharia apply in each case. Its definatly a tough decision but If as you say you do not plan on getting married than I think you should consider doing it. Anyways best of luck. Waslam
