Well I was quite young so do not remember it much, but my family left iraq because of saddam and lived in iran, i was born in iran but we moved to syria after a short time. After syria my father decided he needed to get out of there and headed for england.
But it is diffcult. I have friends who have married from abroad and moved to a different country, they do find it gets lonely.
I got married and moved to a different city which is an hour away from my family and i find it hard being far away from them.
But with time you get used to it, id say the first few months are hard after that you just get into a different rountine and get used to it.

Look at this cuteness that I'm not allowed to have:

I used to have a little hamster though similat to the one below, but my little friend died on me after a few years. It was a sad day, I was too overwhelmed with grief to attend his burial in our backyard which was led by my father.

I agree with his fatwa. Shias must be polite. I also believe that actions and behaviours speak louder than beliefs and therefore, what is the benefit of being a shia, but a shia who insults, curses, uses bad language, misbehaves, tells lies, ...?! I mean what makes a shia better than others (non-shias)? Only his beliefs or behaviours as well?!

Poor child... well what to expect from Sufyanis (salafi, wahabi sect). Where is the human rights here? The criminal should be executed not get away with fines to the childs mother and where was she when this abuse was carried out? Allah knows what that poor child must have gone through... shame on these types of people and they think that they are the best of Muslims and mankind and only they will go to heaven!
A person who thinks that a man cannot handle himself by looking at a childs hair needs his testerone checked (treat his hormones or sick mind) females are humans too!

There are different views on this subject. We dont know what exactly happened at that time but we know that there were both sunni and shia communities in Iran and there were also both sunni and shia governments before Safavid dynasty but none of the shia dynasties (before Safavids) were so powerful or reigned for a long time. This is the list of shia dynasties which existed before Safavids:
    Justanids (791–974 AD)
    Alavids (864–929 AD)
    Aishanids (912–961 AD)
    Ziyarid dynasty (928–1043 AD
    Buyid dynasty (934–1062 AD)
    Hasanwayhid (959–1015 AD)
    Kakuyids (1008–1051 AD)
Ismaili State of Alamut(Iran) (1090–1256 AD)
    Ilkhanate (1256–1335 AD)
    Sarbadars (1332–1386 AD)
    Jalayirids (1335–1432 AD)
    Chupanids (1335–1357 AD)
    Injuids (1335–1357 AD)
    Marashiyan (1359-1582 AD)
    Kara Koyunlu (1375–1468 AD)
    Musha'sha'iyyah dynasty (1436–1729 AD

And whoever among you cannot [find] the means to marry free, believing women, then [he may marry] from those whom your right hands possess of believing slave girls. And Allah is most knowing about your faith. You [believers] are of one another. So marry them with the permission of their people (their "ahl" in Arabic version) and give them their due compensation according to what is acceptable. [They should be] chaste, neither [of] those who commit unlawful intercourse randomly nor those who take [secret] lovers. But once they are sheltered in marriage, if they should commit adultery, then for them is half the punishment for free [unmarried] women. This [allowance] is for him among you who fears sin, but to be patient is better for you. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
    Conclusions:
1.You are allowed to marry “melk-e yamin”s as long as you cannot marry free women.
2.The word “fatayatekom” means “your female slaves”. So “maa malakat aymanokom men fatayatekom” cannot mean “your female slaves of your female slaves”. In other words, there must be a difference between “melk-e yamin” and “female slave”.
3.You are allowed to marry believing slave girls (providing that you cannot marry free women). So, they must be “momin”.
4.You are allowed to marry believing slave girls (providing that you cannot marry free women) with the permission of their “ahl”.
5.You must give them their “due compensation” (maybe something like “mehr”) after marriage. So, it is not for free.
6.This [allowance] is for him among you who fears sin, but to be patient is better for you

But let them who find not [the means for] marriage abstain until Allah enriches them from His bounty. And those who seek a contract from among whom your right hands possess - then make a contract with them if you know there is within them goodness and give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek [thereby] the temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allah is [to them], after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful.

Regarding your second question, its like me asking you to make dua for me, you do a dua and I get it...if that makes sense

On what basis would you say he is not he most knowledgeable? Knowledge isn't only about how many books you read, but how much of what you read you actually understand. Knowledge in a marja must also be combined with social awareness and be updated with all social, economical, technological, philosophical issues as well. How are you going to give a fatwah about a new form of economy, trade, technology if you have no clue about it?
Many of our great scholars(may Allah bless them all) are unfortunately still stuck in 1970's.
