wayfarer. got a reaction from Adam++ in How To Pray Salat Jummah?
    (salam)
During the ghaybat (Occultation) of the Present Imam al-Mahdi (as), the Friday Prayer is wajib
    takhiyri.
What does "wajib takhiyri" mean? It means that you have a choice between two obligatory deeds: you
must do one of them, you cannot miss both.
In our case, it means that you have the duty of doing either the dhur/zuhr Prayer or the Friday Prayer.
However, it is preferable to do the Friday Prayer.
And when you do the Friday Prayer, then you will
do it with the niyyat of wajib; and after that you do not have to recite the Zuhr Prayer.
    On Whom is Salatul-Jum'a Wajib?
The Friday Prayer, in its wajib takhiyri form, is wajib upon the men who are resident of that city, in
    good health, and not elderly.
The Friday Prayer is not wajib upon the women, the traveler, the sick, and the elderly. HOWEVER, this
does not mean that they are not allowed to participate in the Friday Prayer; it only means that they are
exempted from participating in the Friday Prayer.
Considering the Friday Prayer as the most important weekly religious event in a non-Muslim country,
it is preferable for the women, the traveler, and the elderly to participate in the Friday Prayer provided
it does not cause any inconvenience to them.
The niyyat for these exempted people will still be the niyyat of wajib when they participate in the
Friday Prayer; and they do not have to say the Zuhr after it.
Friday Prayer led by a Sunni Imam.---If there is no Shia centre or mosque near your home or work-place, then you can participate in the
Friday Prayer led by a Sunni imam. However, in this case, you will also have to recite the Zuhr Prayer
after it. One of the conditions for the imam of jama'at, in Shi'a fiqh, is that the imam must be a'adil (of
    upright character) and Shi'a Ithna-Ashari.
What If I Missed the Khutbas before Jum'a?
The two khutbas (sermons) delivered by the imam of jum'a are essential parts of the Friday Prayer
ceremony. The audience is required to listen to the khutba, and not engage in any other activity, not
    even doing the nafila/sunnat prayer.
However, if a person missed the khutbas, he or she can still join the Friday Prayer and it will be
    considered sufficient.
    Discipline & Order
Remain silent when the imam is reciting the surahs. Straighten up the rows of jama'at. Do not recite
the zikr so loud that the imam hears them. Hasten in filling the gaps when the iqamah is being recited.
Do not go into the ruku or sujud before the imam.

Several years back, the news of imam Khomeini's death was aired on the TV. They showed a few recordings from his life. I still remember that scene vividly where ruhollah khomeini was praying (standing! despite being very ill, frail and weak) with 2 men on each side holding his i.v glucose/saline bottles and bending down with him when he went into rukoo and sujood  That was so touching & inspiring. I resolved to be punctual in my prayers after that.

wayfarer. got a reaction from Zavon in Abu Dharr
    (bismillah)
Imam Ali (as) uttered the following lines when Abu Dharr was exiled towards ar-Rabadhah :
O' Abu Dharr! You showed anger in the name of Allah therefore have hope in Him for whom you became angry. The people were afraid of you in the matter of their (pleasure of this) world while you feared them for your faith. Then leave to them that for which they are afraid of you and get away from them taking away what you fear them about. How needy are they for what you dissuade them from and how heedless are you towards what they are denying you. You will shortly know who is the gainer tomorrow (on the Day of Judgement) and who is more enviable. Even if these skies and earth were closed to some individual and he feared Allah, then Allah would open them for him. Only rightfulness should attract you while wrongfulness should detract you. If you had accepted their worldly attractions they would have loved you and if you had shared in it they would have given you asylum.
--------->>> Abu Dharr al-Ghifari's name was Jundab ibn Junadah. He was an inhabitant of ar-Rabadhah which was a small village on the east side of Medina. When he heard about the proclamation of the Prophet, he came to Mecca and after making enquires saw the Prophet and accepted Islam whereupon the unbelievers of Quraysh gave him all sorts of troubles and inflicted pain after pain, but he remained steadfast. Among the acceptors of Islam he is the third, fourth or fifth.
Along with this precedence in Islam his renunciation and piety was so high that the Prophet said:
Among my people Abu Dharr is the like of `Isa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary) in renunciation and piety.
In the reign of Caliph `Umar, Abu Dharr left for Syria and during `Uthman's reign also remained there. He spent his days in counselling, preaching, acquainting people with the greatness of the members of the Prophet's family and guiding the people to the rightful path. The traces of Shi`ism now found in Syria and Jabal `Amil (north of Lebanon) are the result of his preaching and activity and the fruit of seeds sown by him.
The Governor of Syria, Mu`awiyah, did not like the conduct of Abu Dharr and was much disgusted with his open criticism and mention of the money-making and other wrongful activities of `Uthman. But he could do nothing. At last he wrote to `Uthman that if he remained there any longer he would rouse the people against the Caliph. There should therefore be some remedy against this. On this, `Uthman wrote to him that Abu Dharr should be seated on an unsaddled camel and dispatched to Medina. The order was obeyed and Abu Dharr was sent to Medina. On reaching Medina he resumed his preaching of righteousness and truth. He would recall to the people the days of the Holy Prophet and refrain them from displays of kingly pageantry, whereupon `Uthman was much perturbed and tried to restrict his speaking. One day he sent for him and said: "I have come to know that you go about propagating that the Holy Prophet said that:
"When Banu Umayyah will become thirty in number they will regard the cities of Allah as their property, His creatures their slaves and His religion the tool of their treachery."
Abu Dharr replied that he had heard the Prophet say so. `Uthman said that he was speaking a lie and enquired from those beside him if any one had heard this tradition and all replied in the negative. Abu Dharr then said that enquiry should be made from Amir al-mu'minin `Ali ibn Abi Talib (p.b.u.h.). He was sent for and asked about it. He said it was correct and Abu Dharr was telling the truth. `Uthman enquired on what basis he gave evidence for the correctness of this tradition. Amir al-mu'minin replied that he had heard the Holy Prophet say that:
There is no speaker under the sky or over the earth more truthful than Abu Dharr.
Now `Uthman could do nothing. If he still held him to be liar it would mean falsification of the Prophet. He therefore kept quiet despite much perturbation, since he could not refute him. On the other side Abu Dharr began speaking against the usurping of Muslims' property quite openly and whenever he saw `Uthman he would recite this verse:

And those who hoard up gold and silver and spend it not in Allah's way; announce thou unto them a painful chastisement. On the Day (of Judgement) when it shall be heated in the fire of hell, then shall be branded with it their foreheads and their sides and their backs; (saying unto them) "This is what ye hoarded up for yourselves, taste ye then what ye did hoard up. " (Qur'an, 9:34-35)
`Uthman promised him money but could not entrap this free man in his golden net, then resorted to repression but could not stop his truth-speaking tongue. At last he ordered him to leave and go to ar-Rabadhah and deputised Marwan, son of the man (al-Hakam) exiled by the Prophet, to turn him out of Medina. At the same time he issued the inhuman order that no one should speak to him nor see him off. But Amir al-mu'minin, Imam Hasan, Imam Husayn, `Aqil ibn Abi Talib, `Abdullah ibn Ja`far and `Ammar ibn Yasir did not pay any heed to this order and accompanied him to see him off, (what an honour!!!! )
and Amir al-mu'minin uttered these sentences (i.e., the above sermon) on that occasion.
In ar-Rabadhah, Abu Dharr had to put up with a very had life. It was here that his son Dharr and his wife died and the sheep and goats that he was keeping for his livelihood also died. Of his children only one daughter remained, who equally shared his starvation and troubles.
    :(
When the means of subsistence were fully exhausted and day after day passed without food she said to Abu Dharr: "Father, how long shall we go on like this. We should go somewhere in search of livelihood." Abu Dharr took her with him and set off for the wilderness. He could not find even any foliage. At last he was tired and sat down at a certain place. Then he collected some sand and, putting his head on it, lay down. Soon he began gasping, his eyes rolled up and pangs of death gripped him .

When the daughter saw this condition she was perplexed and said, "Father, if you die in this vast wilderness, how shall I manage for your burial quite alone."

He replied, "Do not get upset. The Prophet told me that I shall die in helplessness and some Iraqis would arrange for my burial. After my death you put a sheet over me and then sit by the roadway and when some caravan passes that way tell them that the Prophet's companion Abu Dharr has died." Consequently, after his death she went and sat by the roadside. After some time a caravan passed that way. It included Malik ibn al-Harith al-Ashtar an-Nakha`i, Hujr ibn `Adi at-Ta'i, `Alqamah ibn Qays an- Nakha`i, Sa`sa`ah ibn Suhan al-`Abdi, al-Aswad ibn Yazid an-Nakha`i etc. who were all fourteen persons in number. When they heard about the passing away of Abu Dharr they were shocked at his helpless death. They stopped their riding beasts and postponed the onward journey for his burial. Malik al-Ashtar gave a sheet of cloth for his shroud. It was valued at four thousand Dirhams. After his funeral rites and burial they departed. This happened in the month of Dhi'l-hijjah, 32 A.H.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Such are the true believers who patiently endure hardships and stand by the truth no matter what obstacles they have to face. What a great example for us to learn from. Mashallah, what a true companion of our Prophet (pbuh)

wayfarer. got a reaction from Bello Bamalli in Why did the daughter of imam Ali marry Omar?
No such marriage took place. Astaghfirullah!
She was NOT married to him, her Husband was Aun bin Ja’far, who was the son of Imam Ali’s(as) brother.
Mathematically it can be proven that she was not married to Omar. According to the politicians, Umm Kulthum and Omar ibn al-Khattab were married in the year 17 Hijri, when Umm Kulthum was 4 or 5 years old. That means she would have been born around the year 12 or 13 Hijri. So you mean Imam Ali (as) allowed his daughter to marry at 4 or 5 years old?
If the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) died in the year 11 Hijri, and Fatimah al-Zahra (as) died 6 months later, how in the world could Umm Kuthum(as) have been born after the death of her Mother(as) ?? Even Sahih Bukhari confirms she died 6 months later. Sahih Bukhari:Volume:5 Book:59 Hadith:546, not to mention its also the hadith about Abu Bakr stealing her land that Allah(swt) gave to her. Quran: Surah:17 verse:26
Next they mark her(as) death in 50 Hijri, but how is that possible when she was present in Karbala when Imam Hussein (as) was martyred in the year 61 Hijri. Yes, she remarried her cousin Abdullah ibn Jafar ibn Abu Talib, after the death of her sister Zeinab(as), who was married to him before her. But that’s it, that is the only two times she married . So just who did Omar marry?-- > Umm Kalthum bint Abu bakr. Let me explain so it all makes sense.
Omar did not just have one wife named umm Kulthum, he had a total of FIVE wives by that name.
Umm Kulthum bint Jarwila Khizima, Umm Kulthum bint Uqba, Umm Kulthum bint Rahab, Umm Kulthum bint Asim, and then finally Umm Kulthum bint Abu Bakr.
She was born after the death of her father in the year 13 hijri, her mother is Asma bint Umays. She was pregnant with her when Abu Bakr died. They also had one more child before her, guess who, Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr. A true companion of Imam Ali(as). So just how did she get the title bint Ali.
Asma bint Umays Married Imam Ali(as) after the death of Abu bakr. Imam Ali(as) loved Muhammad ibn Abu bakr very much. So he married his mother shortly to take him in as his own. So naturally Imam Ali(as) moved them into his home. Now if you do the math that was done earlier on this Umm Kulthum, it works out according to the Sunni hadith.
Also note: Omar did not go to Imam Ali(as) to ask for her hand but he sent word to Aisha, her older sister, and she accepted. So in conclusion Umm Kulthum(as) bint Imam Ali(as) did NOT marry Omar. Thank you.
Ps. For the hypocrites that challenge this I have saved your Sunni hadith that prove this truth. I did not incorporate a lot of these references you can have a little faith I could be wrong or lying, so then you would question it and then i would drop them on you.
As Imam Ali(as) would say “Peace be upon those who deserve it”

wayfarer. got a reaction from Abu Nur in Ban on Muslims
For anyone who wants to know the REAL reason for the ban, here it is: the country just got hijacked: People seem to be missing the point entirely on this issue. Trump's action was not about 'banning muslims" - it never was. Look a little deeper below the surface of what has just occurred and consider this. The 'muslim ban' issue is a smokescreen.
What this was about was testing the waters to create public chaos and bring about opposition from the supreme court, and to see if DHS could then override a supreme court order and get away with it without any public outcry. And they got away with it.
And here people are actually even defending this action. That is why they used muslims and the ever-popular threat of terrorism, because they knew the people would support it, and now a legal precedent has been set.
DHS now has both 'legal' and public approval to override the supreme court on any domestic issue and the new attorney general will support it. Think about that, because that means any rights you have... and yes, if you are an American, that means YOU. And the people supported it.
Trump's action is not about travel bans, it never was. They just used muslims to get public approval for the action. What it was about was setting a legal precedent whereby DHS can now override the supreme court... The people of the United States just lost any rights the DHS decides they dont have, and they now have no legal system to fall back on because the supreme court is now subservient to the DHS - when last week it was the other way around like its supposed to be. And Trump did it after sacking the heads of almost all departments, while there was quite literally only a skeleton staff at the White House - and certainly no one there who could oppose his actions.
    Neat trick huh?
Look at history. Overriding and gaining control of the court system is the first step in any coup de'tat... this is exactly the way they played it in Germany, in Italy, Spain, Egypt, Panama... and anywhere else you care to name.... Think it cant happen in America? Think again...The really interesting thing though, is that so many people are approving of it.

Law and order matters in a country that wiped out the red man?
Law and order matters in a country that enslaved the black man and locked him up like a caged animal?
Law and order matters in a country that convinced itself that seizing the property of and imprisoning an entire race of people was a justifiable precaution of wartime?

Law and order matters in a country where someone can get a medal for being mentally disturbed (being a man and wanting to be a woman), and there is a strange compulsion for everyone to applaud acting upon such a whim?

The wording of the law is very specific. It is not banning people based on religion; it is banning people from certain countries. There is nothing new or special about this at all. Obviously it is targeting Muslims, but the wording of the law does not stipulate as such.

And he won't get impeached. You liberals always hinge on such arbitrary and baseless hopes based on your own arbitrary and baseless perception of this joke of a political system and its (alleged) safeguards; "he won't get elected," "he can't do this," "he will get impeached." Gambling is haraam so I won't give gambling advice. But if anyone is a gambling man, put your money on American society completely imploding before Trump gets anywhere close to impeached.

Destruction of Israel just means having a single-state in Israel/Palestine, which would end the identity of Israel as a jewish state because it would be a democratic state where jews, christians and muslims living between the river and the sea would have a vote each. It doesn't call for killing every Israeli. I've read pro-Israeli propaganda about Hezbollah calling for every jew to gather in Israel so it doesn't have to hunt them down, but I have not seen any evidence for it, nor have I seen any evidence for any of the terrorist attacks Israel and the US claimed were carried out by Hezbollah. I find it rather ironic that we have a problem with calling for Israel's destruction, yet Israel through its persistent expansionary policies are ensuring that a Palestinian state does not happen. So its not just calling for its destruction, its doing it day by day. Even if you disagree with what I have said, in any case, Israel is not America, and the interests of Americans are not the interests of Israelis, and to conflate the two is only the work of American politicians funded by the Israeli lobby. Hezbollah has absolutely no interest in targeting American civilians through suicide bombings, they have no plans on creating a caliphate like system like the other terrorist groups and not to mention, they have strong christian support in Lebanon, so if they indeed had radical goals of killing "infidels", they would've had no christian support.

President Trump’s recent immigration ban on Muslims entering the United States for 90 days incited an uproar and protests at airports around the country. Outrage unified the left in the common goal of opposing the ban. Several Democrats capitalized on the outrage to gain some political points. The ACLU quickly maneuvered their attorneys together to receive a federal court order in their favor, granting a nationwide stay, temporarily placing the ban on hold. But some political theorists have conveyed skepticism over whether the ban was just a diversion for the Trump Administration to achieve an alternative goal that normally would’ve received greater opposition and outrage.
“What Bannon is doing, most dramatically with last night’s ban on immigration from seven predominantly Muslimcountries– is creating what is known as a “shock event.” Such an event is unexpected and confusing and throws a society into chaos,” theorized Political History Professor at Boston College, Heather Cox Richardson, in a FacebookPost. “People scramble to react to the event, usually along some fault line that those responsible for the event can widen by claiming that they alone know how to restore order. When opponents speak out, the authors of the shock event call them enemies. As society reels and tempers run high, those responsible for the shock event perform a sleight of hand to achieve their real goal, a goal they know to be hugely unpopular, but from which everyone has been distracted as they fight over the initial event. There is no longer concerted opposition to the real goal; opposition divides along the partisan lines established by the shock event.”
