  1. Salaam, Thank you very much for all the replies. Jazakallah.
  2. Walekum salaam. Thanks for such a detailed response. What I understand from your reply is that you need to get married as : Your hormones are out of balance and you need to rebalance themHave loads of kidsNew challenges, tests etc which you pass to set an example to future generations. I don't quote see how that is reaching closeness to God and hereby completing half your been? Surely the latter two points are directly as a result of the marriage and they would happen anyways. As for the first point, I may not directly agree with the hormones part but lets not discuss the satiation of one's physical needs as I respectfully want to keep this discussion spiritual. I am trying to understand how does getting married bring you close to God when you believe that you are doing just fine anyways. Thanks!
  3. How is that completing half of your faith when you're doing that already?
  4. Salaaam, So what does it mean to you when the Prophet pbuh said that marriage is completing half of your faith? I have been pondering about this heavily and have realised (with utmost humility), I am religious enough to carry on my day to day activities as I pray 5 times a day, have tawqa, constantly reflect upon my deeds, implement justice in my life, go to majalis etc etc. So why do i need to get married to get closer to God? What am I missing here??! What did you guys derive from marriage that made you more religious? I don't see anything that would make me do so. Thanks.
  5. Ali Asghar a.s Feel free to add more.
  6. Walekum salaam brother, I am not married...so take my opinion with a pinch of salt. In answer to your question, I think it is personal experiences which people try and generalise upon a whole nationality. I maybe wrong but that is my humble opinion.
  7. Salaam, I think your a bit confused between his akhlaaq and the way he expresses his beliefs. I think they are two different things all together. We are talking about his akhlaaq here and there is not a single video (that I have seen) where he raises his voice, swears or curses anyone.
  8. Walekum salaam wrt. The irony is that the people who say that they should donate blood are usually the ones that haven't donated any. Yet they say oh you shouldnt do zanjeer and donate blood?! Hypocrisy in its highest form. In reply to those who say that we should mourn the way that the Ahlulbayt a.s mourn over Aba Abdillah A.S. There are numerous traditions which say that The Lady of Light A.S used to slap her face when mourning over Aba Abdillah A.S. I have also heard that She A.S slapped her eyes in particular. Now in all fairness, I would like to pose a question. What is 'easier'? Zanjeer on the back, tatbeer (qum) on the head or slapping of the eyes? Do you have the same love for Aba Abdillah A.s as her A.S to mourn the same way ?
  9. In addition to what Br Mujtaba said, my respect for this guy went sky high when i saw his akhlaaq here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbfLHVDrwRc
  10. I never said that brother. I made two points. First being that your statement of Sheikh Habib lacking basic akhlaq is not true. Secondly, Ammar has done a very good analysis on the historical myth behind Ibn Saba from all angles.
  11. That is not true. Syed Ammar has done a rigorous analysis of this in quite a few lectures of his. I think one was the one on misconceptions about shia.
  12. The brother asked a question, I think we should answer it rather than behave like immature kids and go off on a tangent. If you want to debate whether if tatbeer/zanjeer is allowed or not, you can open the <insert number> th </ number> thread on this issue. No need to pounce on him like those brainless wahabis. It seems to be almost impossible to get an answer to a straight question on SC due to some people. Salaam brother, You may find this helpful : http://www.azadari4imam.org/
  13. I know its not Rajab (yet) but this dua is in my thoughts :
  14. Any particular majalis? Syed Zameer Akhtar Naqvi Saab:
  15. Thank you. I forgot to post links to Zameer Akhtar Naqvi Saab's majalis. He does masayab really well as well.
  16. Salamalaikum, Mai tagde masayab waale majliso ke talaash mei hu. Something like this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogIK9hkKlKs Mawla e Kayenaat (as) ki sahadat ka zikr aur us ka link waqai karbala ke saath agar miljaye to bahut accha hoga. Otherwise, aap ke hisaab se jo bhi acche (solid) masayeb wale majlise hai, unka link plz post kare. Thanks. Dirac Delta Function.
  17. Coz of which the thread gets side tracked and locked. Some things never change on SC.
  18. How does that make sense? Plz dont give advise if you dont know what your talking about. Especially when you contradict yourself.
  19. Walekum salaaam. The part I highlighted in red in arabic says mutaa right? For whatever reason, they have translated it incorrectly haven't they? Thanks.
  20. Salaaam, The following hadees is in question : Volume 6, Book 60, Number 43 : Narrated by 'Imran bin Husain The Verse of Hajj-at-Tamatu was revealed in Allah's Book, so we performed it with Allah's Apostle, and nothing was revealed in Qur'an to make it illegal, nor did the Prophet prohibit it till he died. But the man (who regarded it illegal) just expressed what his own mind suggested.Links : http://www.sahih-buk...ukhari_6_60.php http://www.hadithcol...number-043.html http://www.sahihalbukhari.com/sps/sbk/ The above 3 are in english and say the same thing. HOWEVER! I came across this website : http://sunnah.com/urn/41980 where it says the following in arabic : حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ أُنْزِلَتْ آيَةُ الْمُتْعَةِ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَفَعَلْنَاهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَلَمْ يُنْزَلْ قُرْآنٌ يُحَرِّمُهُ، وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهَا حَتَّى مَاتَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ بِرَأْيِهِمَا شَاءَ‏.‏ Now my arabic isnt that great but the part in red says 'Ayatul mutaa' right? Does that mean that it has been intentionally mistranslated to hide the crimes of umar? Mods plz feel free to move it to shia sunni discussions (if iam right). Thanks.
