i wonder if this finding (which has to be at least a couple decades old i htink) had an effect on the way spelling is taught in primary school.

the ziyarat which the imam of our time reads for imam hussein (as):
    http://www.rizvia.com/ziarat/nahiya/index.htm
its been posted before by J but since the search engine isnt working and it really is something. thought you guys would like it again.
    What is Ziyarat al-Nahiya?
Of the several prescribed Ziyarat of Imam al-Husain (pbuh), one was recited by Imam al-Mahdi (pbuh) and reached us through one of his four special deputies. For that reason, it is known as the Ziyarat that was issued from the sacred side (Ziyarat al-Nahiya al-Muqaddasa).[1] One of the most important features of this Ziyarat is that in different phrases, Imam al-Mahdi (pbuh) graphically describes the events of Ashura and the agony that Imam al-Husain (pbuh) and his family faced on that horrific and ominous day.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1] It should be noted that there is another Ziyarat known as al-Nahiya, which focuses on the Ziyarat of other martyrs of Karbala, specifying the names of the companions of Imam al-Husain (pbuh). However, as mentioned by al-Majlisi, the time mentioned in the documentation of the Hadith as the time of its release is four years before the time of the birth of Imam al-Mahdi (pbuh). Assuming that it was not a transcription error, that particular Ziyarat may have been transmitted by Imam Hasan al-Askari (pbuh) (Imam Mahdi’s father, the eleventh Imam), not Imam Mahdi (pbuh). In that case, al-Nahiya al-Muqaddasa (the sacred place) refers to the house of Imam Hasan al-Askari (pbuh) in Samarra.

If the stability of my marriage is hinging on whether or not my boobs grow a a size bigger.. pretty sure I am better off without that blithering idiot. Take care of yourself, EAT WELL, drink plenty of water, and get plenty of exercise for yourself and for your partner as well. There is some nobility in wanting to be the best you can be for your family, but when it becomes critical to the happiness of your marriage.. perhaps there are underlying issues that need to be explored.
Btw Mehvish.. you are freggin hilarious  I am beginning to really enjoy your posts.

no it isnt a good analogy, and it doesnt excuse a guy (by a lower expectation) who has had no sex to behave badly (uncivilised) with women. not that your point even deserves serious rebuttal, but the winking example was actually a married man, who had not been separated from his wife. furthermore i have close male relations who do not engage in premarital sex, nor unislamic behaviour with nonmahrams, and yet they are quite capable of behaving properly, they arent saints either. so it isnt a guy thing.
you seem to think that muslim males and females do not have the skills to act appropriately. they do have those skills; the girl which you described or the arab guy i described are perfectly ok talking to the non muslims in our offices, they may just be overally more introverted than extroverted. the cultural difference however confuses them as to how to act, particularly when there is a sexual attraction/marriage element thrown into the mix (they dont have to be sexually attracted, or considering marriage for this element to be significant).
i often find that when people get nervous or dont know how to behave with a certain group of people, they end up behaving inappropriately. i've had countless such encounters with non muslims who do not know what to think of me, try to presume what i am thinking of them, etc. they often end up behaving stupidly.
so it isnt a muslim phenomenon, it is merely a human one. it has been caused by the fact that two cultures/ value systems are trying to exist in one place.

Vitamin D Appears to Cut Risk of Pancreatic Cancer
    Reuters
    Thursday, September 14, 2006; A02
People who take the recommended daily amount of Vitamin D are about half as likely to get deadly pancreatic cancer as people who do not, researchers said yesterday. Now they are checking to see if getting the vitamin from food or sunlight also cuts the risk.
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth-leading cause of cancer death in the United States. This year, an estimated 32,000 new cases will be diagnosed, and only 5 percent of its victims will survive more than five years.
Working with colleagues at Harvard University, a team led by Halcyon Skinner of Northwestern University examined data from two large, long-term health surveys involving 46,771 men 40 to 75 years old and 75,427 women 38 to 65.
They found that people who took the U.S. recommended daily allowance of Vitamin D, 400 international units (IU), had a 43 percent lower risk of pancreatic cancer. Those who took less than 150 IU per day had a 22 percent reduced risk.
Writing in the journal Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers & Prevention, the researchers said taking more than 400 IU a day did not reduce the risk further.
Vitamin D is produced by the body when sunlight hits the skin, but most Americans do not get enough sunlight to produce the needed amount. Milk, both dairy and soy, is fortified with the vitamin. Some foods, including fish, eggs and liver, also contain Vitamin D.

No they're not missing, and they haven't been deleted. All that was lost was the 12 hours from when the forum was first updated to a buggy version. Anything prior to Saturday midnight (EST) wasn't lost. The forum had been online for only 12 hours between Saturday midnight until yesterday. Where you get '3 days' from is beyond me, because the forum has been down for the past 3 days.

Preview posts is a known bug in the new version, hopefully this will be fixed soon.
Yes, however not for another few days. A link will be displayed in the navigation bar once it's back up.
A cleanup script is being run, hopefully it should sort these out, though there is a chance unfortunately that the broken quotes will be permanent.
It is running slower due to the maintenance being run on the database, should be back to normal in the coming day.

    Salam guys
A few of you may have noticed that a couple of your posts were missing. Unfortunately we lost 12 hours of posts, i.e. the last 12 hours before the forum was brought back-online. Please accept our apologies.
You may also notice many features are currently disabled. These will remain disabled for the next 24 hours until maintenance to the database has been completed.
If you come across any bugs resulting from the upgrade, please post them here and we will attempt to attend to them when possible.
    Peace and blessings.
