  7. You failed to answer my question: Why don't you admit the shortcomings of Israel? Sorry, but your opinion is of no relevance. It has NO legal basis. I provided you with a legal opinion of 2 reknown bodies. Your words pose no significance in the light of the opinion of the Red Cross and Harvard Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research. Now I ask again, why are you avoiding criticism of Israel where it must be criticized? I agree with your assessment of the Arab governments for the most part. But I still want you to admit that Israel is no saint. The size of its populations is the most pathetic excuse one can come up with. Furthermore, as stated previously, international law considers Israel an occupying power. Your opinion is a meagre opinion not the law. We can go on in circles with this debate, or we can make compromises and accept some 'basic facts' even if they undermine our personal preferences.
  8. Whats that supposed to mean?
  9. I'm sorry? Israel is still in occupation of the Gaza Strip as per international law not because some one 'feels like' making Israel responsible for Gaza Strip. The occupation of a foreign power means that Palestinians have the right to resist. Whether or not they should exploit this right is another issue. The fact that Israel occupies Gaza remains, whether or not PA makes effort to ending 'terrorism'. Perhaps you misunderstood me. You had stated earlier: When the Israelis in Gaza were being bombarded with Kassam rockets for years, they did not 'exit in droves'. On the contrary they had to be evacuated forcefully. I could cite dozens of such examples else where, but I think this should suffice. Agreed. But why not be honest to yourself, and admit the shortcomings of Israel at the same time? You do agree that some weight falls on Israelis, then why not mention it? As long as either party continues to ignore its own faults we are not getting anywhere.
  10. I have been lurking around observing some members post news pieces of extremist activity and abuse the information within to defame a particular religion. I'm sure they all know who they are... I present a few excerpts from a column on Mr. Bush: http://www.vanityfair.com/commentary/conte...es/051107roco01 Umm "Religion of Love"™ "United States of America and its Free Peace Loving People"™ ??? Oh my... Are these the words of an American? If I had desired, I could have used this as 'evidence' in proving what a pack of extremist white supermacists Americans are. After all, majority of Americans voted for Bush. But I know that Christianity teaches love, some may choose to interpret the Bible according to their own personal agendas. This does not mean that Christians or American's are heartless people. Unlike some Americans on this forum, I will not use the actions and words of a few Americans to label an entire nation in injustly. Oh wow, seems like Dubya supporters have sensitivities like Muslims too. Dare I say: My aim isn't to defend any one or attack any one. I just want all members of this board, to realize that a peaceful world is our common goal. We must stop pointing fingers at each other. Extremism exists in every walk of life not just in 'Muslims'. If members like Veritas don't intend to engage in dialogue, it's better for them to leave. Just as I can not use a town of a few hundred to measure the ethics and morals of a nation of hundreds of million of diverse people, others should refrain from abusing a religion because insults never solve problems. Two wrongs never had, and never will make a right!
  11. Good point, I'll cite a passage by Paul Mccann:Earlier this year, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the guardian of international humanitarian law, sent the Israeli government a confidential position paper making clear that the removal of the Israeli troops and settlers from Gaza will not end the occupation. The paper stated: "Israel will retain significant control over the Gaza Strip, which will enable it to exercise key elements of authority. Thus ... it seems at this stage the Gaza Strip will remain occupied for the purposes of international humanitarian law." It is a view backed by the highly respected Harvard Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research. In a legal brief prepared for the donor community, the program's director wrote: "The partial redeployment of Israel's military presence in and around the territory is not the controlling factor in international law to determine the end of occupation ... The end of occupation rests essentially on the termination of the military control of the Occupying Power over the government affairs of the occupied population that limits the people's right to self-determination." Source Perhaps we can debate 'who' is 'they'? That's funny. The Gazan Jews were almost daily bombarded with Kassem rockets, and if I recall, they were forcefully evacuated.Like I said take a neutral stand and you will realize that all parties involved in this conflict bear collective responsibility for the mess that is today's Arab-Israeli conflict. But of course each party would love to be known as the victim and pass on the blame. That game is eternal.
  12. When you point at someone or something, 3 of your fingers point back at you. How much rights does Israel give to the Palestinians? Let's face it no one is helping the Pals, whether it be Arabs or Israelis. So before either side points towards the other, they should all take one good look at their own actions.
  13. I got this in an email forward :o  :squeez:
