Take to forgiveness and enjoin good and turn aside from the ignorant. 007-199
Say, To whom belongs the earth and whoever is in it, if you should know?"
They will say, "To Allah ." Say, "Then will you not remember?"
Say, "Who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne?"
They will say, "[They belong] to Allah ." Say, "Then will you not fear Him?"
Say, "In whose hand is the realm of all things - and He protects while none can protect against Him - if you should know?"
They will say, "[All belongs] to Allah ." Say, "Then how are you deluded?"
Rather, We have brought them the truth, and indeed they are liars. Q23:84-90
Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى said to the evil King; "Has My tolerance and endurance, which was supposed to test you, made you arrogant?’ - (Kamal Al Deen page 135)
My dreadful crimes have deadened my heart,
so bring it to life by a repentance from You!
O my hope and my aim!
O my wish and my want!
By Your might, I find no one but You to forgive my sins.

Keep us safe from the everlasting fire O Giver of Refuge!
Say: The bad and the good are not equal, though the abundance of the bad may please you; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah, O men of understanding, that you may be successful. [Q.5:100]
Hadrat Ali (as) says: For the common people, the Qur’an provides apparent sentences; for some sophisticated individuals, it provides mysterious allusions; and for the saints of Allah, it reveals delicate divine nuances, while for the prophets it presents ‘facts’.
He said: Abu Bakr Muhammad b. Umar al-Je'abi reported from Abdullah b. Ishaq,
who reported from Ishaq b. Ibrahim al-Baghvi, who reported from Abu Qatan, who
reported from Hisham al-Dastwai, from Yahya b. Abu Katheer, from Urwah, from
Abdullah b. Umar that the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said:
"Surely, Allah does not withdraw knowledge from the people by erasing it from their
minds; rather, He does so by taking away the learned people (from among them).
And when there is no learned man around, people adopt the ignorant men as their
leaders, and refer their questions to these (ignorant leaders), who answer without
any knowledge, thus going astray, and causing others to go astray." Al-Amali Sheikh Mufid p.26
Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness]. [Qur'an 30:41]
"No! [But] indeed, man transgresses Because he sees himself self-sufficient." [Surat Al-`Alaq (96:6-7)]
And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire. Quran 38:27
So what an evil mount upon which my soul has mounted-its caprice!
Woe upon it for being seduced by its own opinions and wishes!
Destruction be upon it for its audacity toward its Master and Protector! - Dua'a Sabah
And whoever holds firmly to Allah has [indeed] been guided to a straight path. Qur'an 3:101
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir in a lengthy tradition says: There is no relationship between Allah and any one else. Verily the person most liked among them in the sight of Allah is the most God-fearing, and one who acts most obediently to Him. I swear by Allah, no man can approach Allah, the Mighty and Glorious, except through obedience.
We possess no immunity from the Fire, and not one of us has an argument which will prevail against Allah. He who is obedient to Allah is a friend to us; and he who is disobedient to Allah is an enemy to us. No one can reach (us) except through piety and good deeds. And Noah said:
“My Lord! Lo! My son is of my household! Surely Thy promise is the truth and Thou art the most just of Judges. “He said: O Noah! Lo! He is not of thy household; lo! he is of evil conduct, so ask not of Me that whereof thou hast no knowledge. I admonish thee lest thou be among the ignorant. “He said: My Lord! in Thee do I seek refuge (from the sin) that I should ask of Thee that whereof I have no knowledge. Unless Thou forgive me and have mercy on me I shall be among the lost” (Qur'an 11:45-47).
A believer is like unto a date palm; whatever you take from it will be to your benefit.
O Lord! You give an invitation but I turn down,
And You become familiar with me but I do not care for You,
And You show affection to me but I do not correspond to You
as if You are overreaching me! Du'a Iftitah
"But Allah is the best guardian, and He is the most merciful of the merciful." Quran 12:64
Imam 'Ali (Zaynu'l 'Abidin) bin al-Husayn was asked: What is death? He said: For the believer it is like taking off clothes which are dirty and lousy; or breaking heavy shackles and fetters, and changing into the most gorgeous and perfumed of apparel, and (riding on) well-trained mounts, and (alighting in) familiar resting-places.
And for the unbeliever, it is the pulling off of gorgeous apparel and changing into the most filthy and coarse clothing ; and the transportation from familiar places to the wildest resting-places and the greatest torment.
My God! My Nourisher! Have I anyone except Thee from whom I can seek the dislodging of my evils and understanding of my problems? - Du'a Kumayl
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah ? Little do you remember. Quran 27:62
[4/-] al-Kafi: Ali from his father from Ibn Abi Umayr from Hisham b. Salim who said: I said to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام: what is the right of Allah over his creation? he said: that they should only say that which they know and should remain silent over that which they do not know - so if they were to do that then they have fulfilled the right of Allah.
And do good (to others) as Allah has done good to you". (28:77)
