  1. I honestly would like to see an analysis of hadiths that reference between shia and sunni sources. I am a sunni so my hadith collections are not considered valid to shia and their collections are not really valid from my schools point of view. I have been using chatgpt to see if there is analogous hadiths between different hadith collection. Many times the same ideas are expressed with different words and different isnads but the meaning is valid for both shia and sunni. Personally I have a method of study that I do. I read hanbali sources but also consult Imam Malik. I find these two to be the best sources of fiqh. While my default is hanbali there are times where I find Imam Malik to be more persuasive. if I look at a tafsir I usually prefer jalalayn or ibn abbas though my school likes ibn kathir the most. I review many, even shia sources ones.
  2. I take no pleasure in what is happening to muslims in Iran. Theological differences are not differences in whether someone is Muslim.
  3. Just curious if shia make takfir and if so what are the conditions?
  4. So if I ask how he is wrong, I must be a defender. I've seen this game before. I was a Christian and I got the same vague answers when I asked them about islam. I would hear horrible things about islam and the Prophet Muhammed saw I would get the same vague answers that never were true. If they were true I would imagine they would have been able to answer me rather than call me a "muzzy lover." I can get this this type of hypocrisy at a church if this is what I wanted. I've heard some disgusting lies about Shia Islam from sunnis when I've asked them about Shia Islam that turned out to be false. Of course I was told I was some kind of Shia lover too. So I guess I am some kind of muhammed abdul wahhab lover now. I guess I will have to keep reading his writings because I can't get a straight answer other than vitriol from you. You: MIAW is evil Me: how is he evil You: You must be a Defender of him you must love him! Me: what the heck!?
  5. I am not defending him. He is a falable being. I am sure when I am done reading his writings, there will at least several things that I will consider wrong. It's only a matter how extensively he is wrong. So far from what I have seen in kitab al tawheed he makes some very interesting points. The difference is that I will be able to articulate where I agree and disagree. I won't just need to say he is wrong or right and leave it at that, I will have evidences.
  6. The 4 madhabs are not infallible. I am hanbali but there are things that I disagree with Ahmad ibn Hanbal on. There are some things that I think Imam Malik makes a strong case for in his madhab. As far as Shia beliefs etc. MBAW was a sunni so his methodology is really not relevant to that school of jurisprudence. I am in the midst of ready kitab attawheed. It's a fascinating book. He gives alot of references to hadith and Quran. It based mainly on those things. It very straight and to the point. The chapters are short and usually has a hadith or two per point and some ayat. There is nothing to address here. It's all feelings nothing to support the contentions. This whole paragraph does what it accuses MBAW of doing. See above reponse to the previous paragraph. Cite to which you are referring, too vague to agree or disagree. Too vague I can neither agree nor disagree. Surely MBAW had a reason for saying what he said. What is evidence does he cite. After that we can weigh whether it is flawed or correct. Please cite the hadith otherwise I can not tell if it's false or not. What ugly things? Truth can not be evaluated by the sponsorship or lack of sponsorship by a modern state.
  7. You could say the same about the flood. There was no reason to flood the entire world and the animals. The question about Muhammed ibn Abdul Wahab is was he right or wrong. It's a logical fallacy to evaluate him otherwise.
  8. That's what I thought for both sunni and shia. The only thing that I wasn't sure of was mutah marriage and if that made a difference.
  9. I have never looked into it, but I always assumed that if you marry a woman with a daughter that the woman's daughter is prohibited for marriage and therefore the man becomes mahram to the step daughter in the same way a a man's daughter in law becomes mahram. Is this different in shia fiqh?
  10. We are trying to save a marriage don't be so petty because you feel you need to take swipes at me. I know you have an obsession for me but take a second to give a darn about this dude and his wife, divorce is an unfortunate thing for both the man and the woman.
  11. Perhaps if she is a good woman and you find her attractive for the person she is maybe you just feel like you are missing out. Perhaps if you took an additional wife you can save this marriage and still care for this woman of she is a good woman while being able to fulfill a need that you have with another wife. It sounds like this wife fulfills some needs but not all. Perhaps an attractive woman will not fulfill all your needs but only some as well. Do you think maybe you are a polygamist Perhaps and need more than one wife rather than finding fault in you wife? I hate to see divorce especially if she is a good woman. A good woman is hard to find. Maybe the woman has no short comings but rather you are unfulfilled because you need 2 or 3 wives.
  12. I've actually read his autobiography. I really respect him. I disagree with him on things but even when I disagree with him I still respect his views. This is a very rare thing to be able to say about someone. I think the way to view him I'd a work in progress. Do I agree with him at a singular point in his life, no but do I understand where he was based with the information he had at that time in his life, yes. I honestly do not know why people love MLk, when clearly if I were black I would like Malcom X much much more.
  13. I have not read that particular book. However the fact that they have found soft tissue in fossils such as dinosaurs and other fossils or that they find carbon 14 in those fossils shows they can not be millions of years old. Old earth is a scam.
  14. You remind me of a shia version of a wahhabi lol.
