  1. Salam, Congratulations to everyone and especially our Master, Sh Ibraheem Zakzaky (may Allah protect him) on this occasion. It seems that Shaykh and his wife have been released from detention and are currently staying in his surviving son's house. Let's not forget to thank Allah for this and pray for his continual safety and for our Nigerian brothers and all the oppressed around the world https://www.tasnimnews.com/en/news/2021/08/03/2548408/bahraini-cleric-felicitates-nigeria-s-sheikh-zakzaky-on-release-from-prison
  2. Salam, Given that there are tons of books on Rijal, I'm like OP where I don't have the qualifications to look through them and come up with a result. Does anyone know if there are books available that have graded other books hadith by hadith?
  3. Salam, This sounds like a topic to ask your marja's office. (send an istifta`) If you end up doing so and you could show us the response, I would be interested in what they say

  5. Salam First ask Allah exalted for help. You may benefit by avoiding sins for a set period of time (ie 40 days) to this end. Second look for ways to meet people your age. Maybe through a hobby or community activity in your area. If there is a mosque in your area with people your age, maybe you'll find someone you could be friends with.
  6. Salam Yes, for future reference for anyone looking at this, you can always view their videos on shiatv.net. They also have Telegram and Whatsapp groups. I believe they upload to Facebook as well but I'm not sure if they have been given problems there too.
  7. باسمه تعالى Salam, Let us put geopolitics to the side and first establish the Islamic angle. We must use the Quran, since the Greatest Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) commanded us to use the Quran to ensure Ahadith are valid in the first place, and also since different madhahib present in this forum may not accept ahadith from all the same sources. A hadith that contradicts the Quran, must, naturally be struck down. The dignity and honor of a Muslim lies in his obiedience to Allah ta`aala. A ruler of Muslims therefore, who threatens this lifestyle is not only allowed for the Muslim to defend himself against this ruler by your own definitition, but is potentially مٌفسِد في الأرض . The above verses posted by brother @SAY.Jafri are explicit in regards to this issue. Until and unless we provide another verse which provides an relevent exception, we cannot deny the apparent view of Allah ta`aala stated. Perhaps the scholars who hold that a revolution is Haram have a tafsir or second verse to defend their view, but we haven't seen it and ahadith don't help here. From the logical perspective, as for the starting of fitnah, the oppressor is the one who is responsible for this by virtue, and ending fitnah would thus be wajib through nahi `an al-munkar
  10. Salam brother, I'm not sure about your specific community, but where I lived (US) 'progressive' Muslims tend to be hyper aware of Islamaphobia. Assimilation is a huge problem, and conservative Muslims tend to assimilate as many of them begin to even identify as white if they can pass as white or sometimes simply, American. I've watched conservative Muslims defend US imperialism. But in any case your post was about progressive Muslims. I agree they are problematic. It shakes me to my core to see a Muslim post an LGBT flag on social media. The only Muhajjiba in my entire high school took off her hijab recently. I think that the core of the problem is that as Muslims we should stick together whereever we migrate. We need a centralized, unified platform (and or political party) for Muslims to exist in as complete Muslims. When Muslims try to fit into non-Muslim political parties, we tend to lose our identity. Wa ssalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
  11. Salam brother If you don't feel ready to get married then that's okay However, the most valuable thing you have is your own life and as muslims we should not despair. If you are facing psychological struggles then maybe you can get some therapy or professional help
