The art of poetry is being hijacked by her.
    This surely can't be poetry.

I’m all for poetry receiving the recognition it deserves after years of near dead sales in the masses. I’m glad that people are becoming more and more exposed to poetry as an art form.
However, this new “Insta-poetry”, reblog-esque type works (In which poetry is reduced to a simple and relatable sentence.) is what is destroying poetry. People who have never liked poetry and never read anything outside of an English Literature classroom are now praising writers like Rupi Kaur and Amanda Lovelace (milk and honey and The Witch Doesn’t Save Herself In this One.) are overshadowing poets with real skill and craft. (Jeananne Verlee, Warsan Shire, Lisa Marie Basile, Ada Limon, among others.)
Poets who have gotten their MFAs and won poetry contests and have studied the art for years are now not receiving recognition for their hard work due to the cheap success of the “Insta-poet” generation. Anyone with followers on Instagram can make a fluffy, feel-good, socially acceptable quote, add random and meaningless linebreaks, and call it “poetry”.
They usually sound something like this:

    my heart is delicate
    I fell for you
    hold it carefully.

The above sentence (that I made-up in literally five seconds) is pitiful and an example of the depth in “insta-poetry” A poem in Rupi Kaur’s milk and honey is:

This?!? This is now considered poetry?

    ^from Amanda Lovelace

Moalfas a chara, there are no prayers needed here, all the "physical force" Irish Republicans supported Brexit and have basically said they would welcome a hard border because they see they the current situation as a total farce aimed to make people believe that certain issues have gone away- on the other hand they relatively speaking copped on that armed struggle under the situation we are in now is foolish- I would say immoral also but they think differently to me- and also they see Brexit as opening up to way for the whole of Ireland to get out from under the jackboot of Brussels and Washington.

Corbyn's instincts are not to be a bully. There are a lot of very valid reasons for Muslims in the UK to support Corbyn. Look having Velayat-e Faqih in Britain now is out of the question, Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlullah, one of the greatest leaders of our time said that it was not applicable to Lebanon due to it's level of Religious plurality. In politics you have to deal with what is possible and not what is ideal.

The whole labeling officially of the political wing of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization and the effective destruction of the Al Quds march in London would not have happened under Corbyn, Also he has appeared on Press TV.

Tommy Robinson is not someone I would call Hard Right- what I would call him is a degenerate, basically rootless, dodgy business man quite open about his drug use who has a psychopathic or at least sociopathic vendetta against Islam and Muslims most likely because he desperately wanted to get inside the clothing of an Aisha or a Fatimah back in his school days and she with utmost rationality and justice was having none of it. One of his major gripes is that Muslimas stay with their Religious communities when it comes to things romantic (how anybody capable of thinking would have a problem with this is beyond me- but poor old Tommy or whatever his real name is not great on thinking stakes). Tommy is extremely "socially liberal".
George Galloway and Dennis Skinner strongly supported Brexit- would you say that George Galloway has an aggressively anti-Muslim agenda?
Look the traitors of Sinn Fein used basically the same arguments in the six counties here in Ireland still occupied by England to get people to vote for Brexit- the DUP and "themuns" are for Brexit therefore it must be good, without the protections of the EU, blah, blah, blah.

Oh be serious, do you know how Denmark and France treats their Muslim populations? Yes Muslim communities in Britain have their problems, but they suffer in general nothing like the genuine oppression Muslims in France and much more so even in Denmark suffer, and this oppression often comes in those countries from the Officialdom. Try being a Muslim in Switzerland also.
Do you think that could be because Liberal-Left used fear tactics on them that the indigenous working class without Brussels to protect would start loading them unto cattle trucks? Identity politics can be a very dangerous game because easily turn very toxic very quickly whoever is playing them.

Before he took the leadership and start coming under serious pressure he was consistent in his views and took principled stands that were very controversial such as when the armed struggle was going on here up in the north of Ireland against the UK state he stood up for us and was a friend to the Irish immigrants or people descended from Irish immigrants over in Britain when they were coming under a lot of pressure. At the time this took guts. I agree with you about his stance on the EU which is what I think will lose him the election however I cannot forget his past.

It effects Muslims because without Brexit Muslims in Britain will find their traditional morality under more and more savage assault as well as possibly their Religious Liberty in any meaningful real sense.

Corbyn is very sincerely anti-imperialist. It is a different party now to what it was under the butcher Blair. Politics often in this fallen world involves choosing to bad in order to prevent the evil.

    Assalamoalaykom brothers and sisters!
I'm talking to a fellow sister that is a revert from Christianity and she was confused about Shia and Sunni Islam. I thought about providing the Shia Encyclopedia on Al-Islam .org And while I appreciate its Shia and Sunni hadith evidence. But there is so much info, it might overwhelm a revert...
So I would be grateful for any resources that could help her please!
    Jazakallah!

I don't see what is so hard to understand.
As a Shia British Muslim take reassurance from the fact that the leader of the main opposition party openly voices support for Shia groups in the Middle East and that millions of my fellow Britons vote for him. And this is despite the fact that there are many powerful interests who are trying to delegitimise him and a key reason for this is his support for Muslims.
We all have families and careers and material interests and no one is expecting any of us to ditch all that in order to promote the cause of the wider ummah. However, the least we can do is not attack a non-Muslim who is willing to put his head on the line in order to stand up for Muslims.

    Exactly.
It totally beggars belief that he is willing to stand up for the oppressed of the Middle East including the Shias of Lebanon and then Shias can come along and say he's just like all the other politicians.
There is absolutely no political advantage he gains from this position and it's all a matter of principle. Like the way he opposed apartheid when official western policy was to support it. May Allah reward him for his bravery.

No doubt someone will come back and ask, "what has this got to do with British Muslims?". It is because of Corbyn's refusal to label Iran as the bogeyman of the Middle East supported by a fair proportion of public opinion, that Shias can go about their daily business without automatically being labelled as terrorists.
There are however various groups, Conservatives and LibDems included who would be quite happy to see anything and everything linked to Iran as tainted.

In the case of Corbyn and his track record this is patently incorrect. The man has consistently stood up for Muslims and as a result has had far more hatred directed at him than any other British politician.

I wouldn't generalize like that about the Left, things are often a lot more complicated than, however you do have something of a point, the Blairites and the Soft Left want basically to strip Islam of it's Spiritual and ethical content and messages, and turn into just another victim identity like sexual perverts and they use morons such as Tommy Robinson (who when he ran for election very recently expecting a land slide in his favour not only lost but did absolutely terribly). to achieve this.

There are two things going on here. There's the Brexit issue and there is also unquestioning loyalty to Israel. Corbyn is the only British politician who is willing to stand up the Zionists. He puts many Muslims to shame.

6th lmam Jafar -al-Sidiq  was reportedly asked about Daniels dreams and he reportedly replied that Daniel did have dreams and was a Prophet.
    Daniel is not is Qur'an.
The Book of Daniel was popular religion story. The people there in are now known to live hundreads of years apart (over nearly 3 centuries as l remember off-hand) and two who lived close togather were about 70-80 years aprt in age. The Boook of Ester is the same way.
