  1. This is a very interesting historical document both for what it does and does not say. Forget the introduction to the link and read his actual document. http://ijtihadnet.com/a-call-to-divine-unity-pdf/
  2. I don't think that they are a Third Positionist group, Third Positionists tend to greatly admire the Islamic Republic of Iran. MKO are extremely strange, and I think in many ways there own thing, from what I have been able to gather about them they are like Trotskyites in regard to their psychotic cult of personality. Since Saddam went they are massively now supported by the Neo-Con wing of the US ruling elite. Resentment against Imam Khomieni and their cults of personality seem to be their key defining features.
  3. MKO are currently allied to the scumiest, utterly nasty faction of the US Ruling Class who are the most cruelly capitalistic people you can imagine. They are also the people who are most antagonistic towards the Islamic world. It could be argued that anyone who allies with such people is NEITHER a Muslim or a Socialist. Ali Shariati is probably the most famous, at least in the West, example of an Islamic Socialist. A lot of what I have read by him I agree with but some of this stuff I found silly. He did though die a martyr and he was important in the restoration of Iran to the Iranian people. From what I have read the economy of Iran is pretty Socialistic, not quite Socialism, but close.
  4. Socialism does not have to be secular. I think actually Socialism can only really work long term when it has Religion, or at least some form of ethical Monotheism, because of the ethical demands it makes on people to work for the common good. I think the idea of an economy based around the concept of social duty as opposed to private greed fits in with what could be called the Abrahamic tradition in many ways. There was a quite interesting Jewish mystic called Yehuda Ashlag who predicted the fall of the Soviet Union, which he admired in very many ways because of it's atheism. He also predicted the collapse of "Labour Zionism" in Palestine for the same reason- but actually "Labour Zionism" in Palestine collapsed because of intra-Jewish racism as well as racism against the indigenous Palestinians who survived the Nabkha and were granted a sort of citizenship. Talking about "Labour Zionism" what annoys me about a lot of Socialists is that they believe that if solve the economy than everything else will naturally get sorted which is very, very untrue. American Christianity in general seems extremely un-Christian to those who fall victim to Capitalism.

  6. The idea of an Islamic Antichrist as in THE Antichrist and not an Antichrist is extremely recent. I am pretty sure that it only goes to the 00s of this century. Historically Christians have actually seen Islam as the worst of Christian heresies. Now though in the United States you have all these crazies claiming that Islam is actually pagan and nothing to do with Abrahamic ethical Monotheism. Check out the complete insanity of the below; https://www.derekpgilbert.com/bad-moon-rising/ However the people who believe this nonsense generally are extremely far from historic Christianity and believe other crazy things such as that Christianity is all about making Christ's followers rich and that God specially blesses the United States which was actually founded by pagan Freemasons.
  7. No it most definitely is not. The current West is a million miles away from the Legion of the Archangel Michael in Romania in the 1920s and 1930s, and very far removed from the Salaazar regime in Portugal which lasted into the 1970s. Evangelical Protestants by the way do not have the power that a lot of people ascribe to them- just look at their utter failure to overturn the Roe versus Wade decision on abortion. The dominant culture today in the West is nihilistic capitalist greed which is why you have things like "gay marriage" which could not be dreamed of under actual "Christo-Fascism".
  8. Now that I think about it Hasan Ali Shah Mahallati did make himself very useful to the British Empire in Afghanistan. Something weird about the current Aga Khan- he has banned his followers from wearing the hijab accept where not wearing one would cause hassle. His logic for this is the claim that originally slave women wore them and free women did not, but actually it was the reverse.
  9. This opinion though (I am trying to remember where I read it) among them came before the modern era though. The Ismailis now certainly have something of the sycophant about them however in the Middle Ages it was they who were the "Radical Muslims". The present Aga Khan's claim to be a legitimate Ismaili Iman are suspect- the founder of his line supposedly came out of hiding in the 19 th century. I know there are Sevener Shia in both India, Yemen and some other places who reject him.
  10. Politics is a necessity in this fallen world. What are the real world actual alternatives to the current system in Iran that would serve the Iranian people better? I cannot think of any. From my reading the current set up happened almost by accident, there really does seem to have been something genuinely Providential in the real sense of that term about Khomeini.
  11. Well the "Palestinian Authority" which is neither genuinely Palestinian or an Authority is backed into corner, if it accepts this it destroys the little legitimacy it has left. The problem is that if they reject this the US may basically allow the Zionist colonial project to carry out an actual genocide.
  12. The Jewish Socialist Bund talked at times of having Jewish autonomous areas in Poland and Russia but they were not Zionists.
  13. Any criticism of Jewish cultures and Rabbinic Judaism as a Religion is completely taboo within mainstream Western societies, while as people are free to say want they want Christianity, Believing Christians, Islam and Muslims. The supposed "antisemitism" on the rise usually just boils down to people expressing concern and sympathy for the plight of the indigenous Palestinians.I believe that it is healthy for all groups and Religions to be subject to criticism as long as that criticism is based on reason and reality. What are you talking about? The World Zionist Congress was offered empty land in Uganda for their Jewish State and they refused the offer demanding Palestine for themselves. They did not ask for land in Europe first.
  14. I remember reading in places that the Sevener Shia did ally with certain Crusader factions at times. I do not recall however reading anywhere that the Twelver Shia did so.
  15. I just voted yes because of the last couple of days. Before this was a struggle between two basically equally evil factions of the US Ruling Class. Now everything has become a lot more serious and he is clearly completely out of control.
  16. 1. It really is not. 2.True. 3. Please do not. Although I watched a really brilliant Iranian film with subtitles on Our Lady Mary which had sort of feminist undertones but was really excellent.
  17. There is a difference though in wishing an actual Christian "Happy Christmas" and wishing someone who spurns the teachings of Jesus as either Christians or Muslims them totally and completely "Happy Christmas". Iraq is not the contemporary West so that ruling most likely had actual Christians in mind.
  18. The Prophet Hosea did not commit fornication though.
  19. This is a true observation I believe however social media very easily can become morally and spiritually damaging to people of BOTH genders.
  20. Do you have more information on this? Also were they Twelver or Sevener Shia Muslims?
  21. The best way to deal with this and sinful passions in general is to remember that God is always watching.
  22. I voted depends. I think certain Religious truths can be known by "natural" reason alone, basically crude ethical Monotheism. Punishing people for deliberately denying those truths and teaching others to does make sense to me. After that though I am not so sure. I think Plato was correct in saying that atheists should be locked up for five years and argued with, and at the end of being argued with they are still atheists (we have lie detector tests these days) ideally they should be executed.
  23. It was not a back handed remark aimed at you. The fact is though, and it is a worrying sign of the time, is that he has been taken seriously by a lot of people. As to the larger issue I think it is complicated. What do you do when you have a diverse society? For instance should Muslims in the West be forced to respect homosexual sins or demon worshippers? No obviously- but if the choice is between that and tolerating through gritted teeth people being allowed to insult the Prophets which would you choose if you could not have both? In a majority Muslim society obviously things would be different but Peterson does not live in such.
  24. Peterson is an idiot and a fraud. The fact that he is seen as a genius or even interesting is really a sign of intellectual decay.
