I'd have been within my ideal weight range at this stage had I not gained gradually over the last couple of years due to sheer negligence and a very excitable palate that loves all junk food and hates everything that is supposed to be healthy - or used to.
I feel great now but will keep going until I fit my oldest surviving wardrobe which is seven or eight years old. Shouldn't take more than two-three months at the most.
The bigger challenge is to maintain and keep the extra pounds off once and for all. I have a plan for that inshallah.

O he whose name is a remedy
Talking about Allah as you want to know more about Allah, Moula Ali(asws) tells Hazrat Kumail(asws) to recite this dua.
Now you see that he(asws) is calling out Allah by saying O he Whose name is a remedy.
What is this remedy? By just saying 'Allah' what remedy are we getting what does Moula(asws) could mean by this word?
Let's see what a Non-muslim Psychologist after a lot of research and study has to say.
Vander Hoven, a psychologist from Netherlands, announced his new discovery about the effect of reading the Quran and repeating the word Allah both on patients and on normal persons. The Dutch professor confirms his discovery with studies and research applied on many patients over a period of three years.

Some of his patients were non-Muslims, others do not speak Arabic and were trained to pronounce the word "Allah" clearly; the result was great, particularly on those who suffer from dejection and tension.

Al Watan, a Saudi daily reported that the psychologist was quoted to say that Muslims who can read Arabic and who read the Quran regularly can protect themselves from psychological diseases.

The psychologist explained how each letter in the word "Allah" affects healing of psychological diseases. He pointed out in his research that pronouncing the first letter in the word "Allah" which is the letter (A), released from the respiratory system, controls breathing. He added that pronouncing the velar consonant (L) in the Arabic way, with the tongue touching slightly the upper part of the jaw producing a short pause and then repeating the same pause constantly, relaxes the aspiration. Also, pronouncing the last letter which is the letter (H) makes a contact between the lungs and the heart and in turn this contact controls the heart beat.

What is exciting in the study is that this psychologist is a non-Muslim, but interested in Islamic sciences and searching for the secrets of the Holy Quran. Allah, The Great and Glorious, says,

“We will show them Our signs in the universe and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (Quran) is the truth.” (Holy Quran 42:53)

Have you ever thought why they want light skin colour? - Because of the discrimination and brainwashing that taught them on a (sub)conscious level that white skin is better than darker skin. We don't have to add fuel to the fire.

I agree with most of what you're saying.
I came to Europe as a small small child and I went to kindergarten and school and university here. All western ones. And I basically didn't have Muslim friends growing up.
My parents didn't allow me to go swimming, dancing or travelling with the other kids. They didn't allow me to go to parties or anything like that. I didn't even know what alcohol smelled like until some years ago when I was on a boat travelling to another country and westerners were smelling weird. That is how I found out what alcohol smells like. And the country I live in has amongst the highest alcohol consumption levels in the world.
As for TV - it's very dangerous as it brainwashes us without us realizing it. I abandoned TV perhaps 9 years ago and I don't think i would allow my kids to watch TV freely. I'd check what they want to watch. I'd encourage them to watch religious channels. Or just spend quality time together instead of being glued in front of a TV.
As for raising kids, personally, I would be a stay at home mom and not allow them to go to kindergarten, because I have worked there myself and seen what they brainwash kids with. For instance that girls and boys are the same (which I myself was taught and believed for a long time), homosexuality in books as something ok and natural etc.
I would not want westerners to get to my kids minds and belief systems before me.
Anyway, my point is that you can stay away from all of those haram things if you want to, even in fasadspreading places. Yes, it's more difficult. And if you have the option of moving to an even better and less fadadspreading country then of course that is better.
In the end I believe that what is most important is to live by Islamic standards yourself and to have a good relationship with your kids. Coz then they'd want to be like you.

Being small is not an issue. Ahlulbayt (a.s) recommend men to marry slightly short women. Furthermore short people tend to be a lot more healthy due to being short.
Im a bit short aswell and everyone is taller then me but that wasn’t problem though.

I don't think so that it is baby's own fault, It could be a test of parents by Allah as per Quran when Allah says we shall test you with something out of fear and with your children, health and wealth.
Allah the Exalted states in Surah Baqarah :
"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient. Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return."Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving  [Al-Qur'an 67:2]
"Or you think that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty, ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who had faith with him said, 'When will the Help of Allah come?' Yes! Indeed Allah's help is close!" [Al-Qur'an 2:214]
“And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a great reward.” (Qur'an, Surah Al-Anfal, 8: 28)

He also indicates, “Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allah has with Him a great reward.”  (Qur'an, Surah At-Taghabun, 64: 15)
This narration of Moula Ali(asws) is very common though that the cure is inside you yet you do not perceive.
Also note that the Quran states that the disease is in the 'Sudoor' chests or hearts of people.
Having said that, a baby being born with holes in heart - Congenital Heart Defects (a pretty common problem in new born children) could be a test of parents by Allah to see how much thankful and patient are the parents towards this defect in the children.
Also note some are tests dear and some are human created problems by their own hands for which they blame Allah.
Nevertheless to summarize, I am closing my post with below words from Dua e Kumail that before the creation of illness Allah created its cure and...
    Ya Man Ismuhu Dawa
O he Whose name is a remedy
    Wa Dhik-ruhu Shifa
O he Whose remembrance is a cure
    Wa Ta'tuhu Ghinan
And obedience to Whom makes one sulf sufficient.

Lol, well, i AM watching what i eat,lol..Im down visiting my parents right now like I do every week, and these are the days where I actually get to go back to how I sed to normally eat as when I'm with my husband, he has a different diet than I do. He's Persian, so he grew up with and is set on having lots of bread, rice, and the whole dessert thing...none of those items have ever been a staple in my diet, because I'm extremely sensitive to gaining weight when I consume those products. Since we got together three years ago, I've put on 10 lb. I used to be super ripped & defined, but now thanks to eating the way he does and my life becoming more sedentary, im back to working at it again.
Recently,  I made a recommitment to myself to go back to the way I was eating before I met him. I can totally sustain and be healthy on a  low calorie diet, but dont worry, I don't go low calorie everyday, I vary it. The low  days of my week are yesterday and today, but then when I go back with him for the next 5 days, my diet will be closer to 1500 per day, maybe a little less on a few depending on if he buys hot, fresh barbari bread or not, lol!
It's unfortunate, because it's not just his very carbs Centric diet thats had a bad effect on me, but the fact that I'm turning 43 next month and I'm a female. All three of those things work against me. There was a point in my life, up to my mid-thirties where I didn't even need to watch what I ate, but things change as we get older,  and I have to work with that change because to let myself gain weight now at this age will mean that I'm probably going to be stuck with it for the rest of my life as it gets harder and harder, especially for women to lose weight as we age:(

    Salam aleykom,
There's a hadith that states that diseases/sicknesses are from people themselves, and that the cure is within them if only they reflect.
So if a child is born with a tumour like some close relatives of mine - is that the child's own fault?
What about developmentally challenged kids? Is it their fault too?

How can we understand this hadith? Is it universal or are there exceptions?

Unfortunate but perhaps a bitter truth in your surroundings dear.
Here (where I live) it is not this hard for a female to be hijabless within females. It is hard but not that hard.
You are free in your heart with the love of Aal(asws) e Mohammad(saww) enjoy that freedom and live every moment in their(asws) love.
As for this world's freedom I hope you get a husband who could take you to some place where you feel comfortable and happy.

Exactly. My problem with this fatwa is the disregard of permission which gives pervs a free card to prey upon nonsuspecting females. That is extremely disrespectful.
Since men don't feel shame the same way females do I'm gonna give an exaggerated example to hopefully make them understand a little better.
What if stranger men took photos of your intimate details and without your knowledge or consent showed these pictures to sisters who are looking to get married. These women then check if you literally measure up to their standards and then decide to reject or pursue you. If they reject you then these sisters will walk around knowing exactly what your intimate details are and you might even bump into them without knowing any of this. Would you be happy about a fatwa allowing such treatment of men without their consent? And even if they pursue you, you might not even be interested in them in the majority of cases anyway.

    Salaam alaykum,
I think in many cultures, the female relatives of the potential suitor do their homework even before a formal proposal is done. Women have enough ways to get to know the necessary details of a girl their brother/son/nephew would want to propose to, without resorting to any strange requests (in a cultural context) or underhand means of taking pictures secretly. The generally apparent features even for a female who dresses modestly in front of other females should generally be enough for a person to decide whether or not the female candidate is suitable for him as a wife. The basic body size/shape, existence and length of hair etc can be observed by female relatives and the necessary information transmitted to the potential suitor. I don't really think the "devil is in the details" applies where one has become a serious suitor, unless a very major issue comes up.  This is part of the reasons marriage contracts don't have details of body parts of existence and pre existence of specific physical attributes, unlike other contracts. You can't exactly divorce a person because you thought your potential wife had 60cm length hair , but after she became your wife you realised it is 56 cms.

Salam it's because you don't consider situation of their time with our time the Fatwa based on hadiths & history of that era in early ages of Islam free Women were rarely going outside of their Houses except if they were poor that couldn't have servants & when they were out of house they were using a heavy Hijab , all imams were supporting using Hijab for slave women but 3 caliphs & Ummayids & Abbasids were against using Hijab by female servants
it's a famous story that one day a blind man came to mosque & asked charity from Prophet (pbu) & prophet didn't has money with himself so he sent him to house of Lady Fatima when blind man entered to Lady Fatima (sa) she covered herself & when prophet (pbu) asked why she did it while he couldn't see him ,she said i afraid that my smell of fregnance  reaches him ,but we don't see such level of Hijab in our communities & what muslim women that use without Chador is like as costumes of muslim women in their houses in private for their family in early ages.

    Of course bro.
But why should we be prevented from having fun at parties because pervs might be watching? We are already extremely restricted as hijabis and now we need to cover ourselves from women too. I personally don't like to be covered up. And I happen to like tight clothes. I'm usually the one wearing the tightest outfits amongst females. I even do yoga and other types of excersize at home now because I don't like to have to wear all those extra layers of clothes like I used to in yoga groups. I want to feel free.
