MartyS got a reaction from shadow_of_light in COVID-19 - Breaking News [OFFICIAL THREAD]
I don't think so. Being sick means we need a doctor. Jesus said He didn't come for those who are well, but for those who are sick. Job said, "Shall we receive good from God and not receive evil?" Apparently, when Jesus went through His sufferings for me, the people accused Him of being "smitten by God" as punishment. But He wasn't ashamed to suffer for me.

Thank you for that interesting perspective!
Our Bible says...
15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, were released to kill a third of mankind.
16 The number of mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand; I heard their number.
17 And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: they wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire and of sulfur, and the heads of the horses were like lions' heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths.
18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths.
19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents with heads, and by means of them they wound. - Revelation 9:15-19

Do a search of Persia/Persians and most results are the pseudo-historical kind, such as alleged communications between characters that lives one and two centuries apart. These also have to do with the Second Temple's construction.
The one Persia result outside of these is in Ezehiel 38, which is in the section of chapters dealing with lsrael's national salvation (to the exclusion of other peoples). lsrael and several other countries including Persia fight against the northern Gog and MaGog . . . on horses of course.

In the beginning, there was God, pre-existant to creation, the creator of all things, including this world, including humankind--many individuals, each with an eternal soul that will outlive this world. The coronavirus is a tiny germ that is part of this world...that is passing away. It can only affect us in this life. How small and insignificant it is. How much smaller and less significant are the great decision-makers of our world who did not cause it and cannot stop it.
it seems our eternal best interest would be to sort of ignore it...focus on the part of us that is not dying anyway, that part of us that will live forever and may be greatly impacted by the spiritual condition of our soul when covid-19 or some other earthly malady accompanies our physical death. We know that God wants us to trust Him. He uses trials to test the genuineness of our faith in Him. Coronavirus may or may not be our particular battle ground. But what matters is, Did we pass the test? Will our faith shine like gold when it is tested by fire, for the glory of God and the salvation of our souls? All praise to our God. His will be done in all the worlds He has made.
Peace and blessing, true health and well-being, love and joy and hope in God our King!

Our health experts in USA are telling us ordinary citizens not to wear masks unless we are sick. If we're sick, they will prevent us from spreading germs by coughing and sneezing on healthy people. But they won't protect us from getting the germs. Handwashing for 30 seconds and not touching our faces is best protection for us if we are well. Also, disinfecting surfaces we touch is helpful. If we're sick with fever, cough, and shortness of breath, we should stay home for 14 days. Peace and blessings!

We believe in God, the creator of the universe, the maker of viruses. He has an appointed outcome of all things. He loves us. We can trust Him. Let's pray for one another, for our countries, our families, our eternal souls. This thing we cannot understand or control does not really control us. It has no power over us except what God allows. His will be done in all our lives. May we simply know it and follow it, wherever He leads us. Blessings and grace, my brothers and sisters. God bless you and keep you and give you peace.

What is the capacity if Iran so far in testing and controlling this disease?
I am very worried about a friend in Tehran who seems to have some strange symptoms and has been asked to get tested for Corona but cannot access emergency services as she was told she is having no difficulty breathing nor does she have a fever. She does have chills though.
Do pray for her please. I am very worried. She is a ShiaChat member.

As I watch the news about this global pestilence, from here in America, and the stock markets barely react, we go on with our lives as in the days of Noah, when people were marrying and giving in marriage until God shut the doors of the ark and it began to rain.
I, for one, am excited that these events may be part of the warning signs, the birth pangs, of Jesus' return to this Earth. We may be witnessing the end of human history as it has, until now, been known.
The last book of the Christian Bible, Revelation, says there will be a scroll with seven seals; seven trumpets; four beasts; three angels; seven angels with seven plagues; and seven golden bowls. (excerpts below)
7 When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!"
8 And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider's name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the Earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with PESTILENCE and by wild beasts of the Earth. - Revelation 6:7-8
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,
19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen. - Revelation 22:18-21

MartyS got a reaction from al-Muttaqin in Spiritual Highs
Repentant Servant,
Your post reminded me of a book I read several years ago that gave me a glimpse into how God is speaking to Muslims in the world today and the special way He is revealing Himself to many. I thought you might find it fascinating and understand it better than I could. It is:
Dreams and Visions: Is Jesus Awakening the Muslim World? by Tom Doyle, publisher Thomas Nelson
Many blessings, beloved by God!

MartyS got a reaction from Abu Nur in I feel like my death is near!
I, too, feel like I am dying. I have the benefit of a terminal diagnosis of Stage 4 breast cancer. I wonder often, will it be soon? Maybe today, or just tomorrow? But it causes no fear. All of this life has been preparing for death. It will come to each of us. And it will last much longer than this life. So I would rather spend this life saving up benefits for the next life. That's where my treasure is. That's where my heart is. Jesus said whatever we store in heaven will never die. It will not rust or grow old. I can only imagine what it will be like to know God as only He knows me, even now; to behold His beauty; to enter into His presence. Every misunderstanding about me will be made known for all to see. Every injustice will be made right. No more sickness or suffering or sorrow. I think heaven will be a wonderful place.

MartyS got a reaction from Kaya in Is Christ God?
Yes. To answer your first question:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. - John 1:1-3
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John 1:14
And to answer your second question:
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things were created through him and for him.
17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. - Colossians 1:15-17
In my understanding, this means Jesus reflects God so that an invisible God can be seen. He was born as a created man, although He was the Creator.
I agree.
Peace and blessings!

Hi, Ashvazdanghe,
Yes. The only problem came when Jesus claimed to fulfill the prophecy in Isaiah 61 saying, "Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing." Luke 4:21
I'm pretty sure that is why the Jews tried to stone him that day.
Peace and blessings!

There is really no way to compare Jesus with Adam. According to the Bible, Jesus was present with God when Adam (the first man from the Earth) was created. By Jesus, all things were created and all creation is sustained by Him. In obedience to God The Father, Jesus was born and became a man (the second man from heaven). Jesus entered into His own creation to redeem mankind from his rebellion against God, and bring all creation into the fullness of eternal God. Jesus reconciled sinful "man" (all mankind) with his holy God by taking on "man's" sin and dying in his place. Then "man" can become righteous by taking on Jesus' holiness. It is a great mystery, but it was God's plan. It's surely not the way we would have saved the world. But we are not God.
Blessings, Brother.

It has always been this relationship in this world and hereafter, it is all about you and God. God worship and commands are clear for all the religion, There is only one Reality and we are created to manifest His Glory. God created us in His Image means "man arafa nafsahu arafa rabbahu", “Whosoever knows himself knows his Lord.” When we look at ourselves and admit our weakness, needs, we know there is the One who is The Powerful where all power comes from, and there is The One who Gives when we are in constant need. Acknowledging this, we will come to conclusion of His Oneness (because there is only One Reality) and obeying what He gives (all that is justice and goodness) is enough for salvation, that's why the verse of Qur'an stated:
Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve. verse 2:62

MartyS got a reaction from funklebits in Is Christ God?
I agree, Jesus became man like us so that He could taste death for us. And God is our Father, too. But Jesus distinguished Himself from mortal sons of God by forgiving sins.
18 And behold, some men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and lay him before Jesus,
19 but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus.
20 And when he saw their faith, he said, "Man, your sins are forgiven you."
21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
22 When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, "Why do you question in your hearts?
23 Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Rise and walk'?
24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on Earth to forgive sins"-he said to the man who was paralyzed-"I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home."
25 And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God. - Luke 5:18-25
