    Greetings,
i love reading everyone's posts! My favorite ADL (activity of daily living) is reading the Bible. I especially am fascinated by the book of Revelation. My favorite lifetime hobby--until I became sick with cancer--since I was 11 years old, was horseback riding, especially in forests, on deer trails, seeing the sunlight cast patterns of light and shadows through the leaves, smelling my horse, hearing the squeaking leather, swaying in God's beautiful creation. Now I enjoy playing dominoes, but I don't much care if I win. I love people, especially Muslims. I love the way they love God and are passionate about their beliefs. I understand that. I love the way they love each other, especially their families. I admire that.
    Blessings,

    Wa aleykom alsalam dear Marty!
Thank you for letting us get to know you better. Horseback riding is actually recommended in Islam. It's good excersize. I remember when I was in Iceland I did some horseback riding in the amazingly beautiful nature there. The day after I felt as if I had been to the gym or something. That's some good stuff!
I also love admiring God's absolutely beautiful creation. I feel closer to God when I'm in beautiful nature. If this is how beautiful nature is on earth - then how will the beauty in paradise be like? May Allah SWT bless us with experiencing the beauty of paradise InshaAllah!
Personally I like Christians, as I have met many wonderful Christians who also are very similar to us. They want to do good in the world, love God and focus on spiritual development.
I wish we could have convivencia again. Marty, I don't know if you have been to Spain. I did some roadtripping there and in Andalucia I visited the biggest mosque in Europe "Mezquita cathedral de Cordoba". It's a mosque and church at the same time! Super cool interfaith place! I highly recommend it.

    Salam aleykom,
I'm curious as to what you guys like doing on your spare time? Do you have any hobbies or interests? Please share!

Personally my biggest interest is travelling. I'm the adventure seeking type. I like cool experiences. For instance, next time I go to Iceland I will take an excursion where I will be taken down inside an inactive volcano to walk around and behold it from the inside. I would also take an excursion to watch the aurora there. I love watching and being in beautiful nature. There's such peace and beauty in that. I'd like to bungy jump and jump out of an air plane and ride a balloonflight. I'd like to ride an elephant (have only read camels and horses) and experience the Amazon forest. A big interest is visiting holy places, both Islamic and those of other faiths like Christianity and Judaism. I'd like to see Masjid Al Aqsa. But unfortunately I found out that I might not be able to enter Iraq if go to Israel and they see that in my passport.
Interior design is another big interest - I love making my home beautiful, harmonious and cosy.
I like hanging out with family and friends and also watching comedies in the movies or comedy clubs.
I like reading, swimming, Feldenkrais, and yoga.
So what do you guys like? One gets a more accurate view of others when one knows their interests. So please share!

Of course, my #1 interest is Quran & Ahlulbayt (a.s), I try to learn something new everyday in this regard, and hope Allah blesses me with the time & money to visit the shrines of our Imams (a.s).
I love sports, favourite is basketball, and play pretty much everything except 'activities' like ultimate frisbee (I refuse to acknowledge such things as "sports"). Weight room is boring as there is nothing competitive about it, but I force myself to go.
I used to love video games, but not so much anymore, and only pick something up if I know it'll be challenging and therefore fun. Hopefully one day they will make good video games again.
I like learning about different cultures and customs, and enjoy picking at people's brain with various questions that they're not used to.
The thing that nobody would ever guess about me in real life - I like to bake, particularly muffins and brownies, they're so good when I bake them...

Do you guys have any unexpected facts to share about yourselves?
    I can start:
When I was 17 years old I studied five languages at the same time and got A's in all of them.
According to the Islamic calendar I'm born on first of Shawwal (Eid Al Fitr).
According to the Christian calender I'm born on one of my favourite countries national day.
Every year I'm the same age as two of my siblings of the same parents, but I'm not twins with any of them

Thank you for your kind words brother! InshaAllah!  If you guys knew what this was about none of you would think that it is extravagant or unnecessary. All of you would say that that need was absolutely acute since day one of prayer. Any human being who doesn't get this is in great danger and faces a horrible destiny. In the end I surrendered and accepted whatever disaster that could be coming my way. I had no power to change things anyway. Alhamdulillah weshokorr for God's mercy. This is really the best thing that could have happened to me and now everyone around me is so happy for me and want to celebrate this as they know about this long struggle and our powerlessness in this regard.
I hope you had a great and blessed hajj InshaAllah!

Carlzone, I praise God with you for this divine healing!
I'm reminded of a story in the gospel of Mark, where a woman who had been suffering for twelve years, had spent all she had on doctors, and had only gotten worse instead of better. But she believed if she could even touch the hem of Jesus' garment, she would be made well. As she did this in a crowd of people, Jesus perceived power had gone out from Him and asked, "Who touched my garments?" Trembling with fear, the woman explained the whole truth about what she had done. And Jesus said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease." - Mark 5:(25)-34

Greetings and blessings, my Muslim friends,
i realize my Christian beliefs are different in some ways from yours, and even different from other Christians, but I have learned much from you here on ShiaChat. And so, in the interest of sharing our beliefs respectfully, I would like to discuss my belief about time from the vision of the future recorded in Revelation 5:6-14 to John, the last living beloved disciple of Jesus...
John is having a vision of the future, when the ransomed, a kingdom and priests to our God, shall reign on the earth, and every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and in the sea, shall praise and worship God and the Lamb (Jesus).
This vision is in heaven. The kingdom and priests shall reign on the earth. As Jesus prayed to the Father in Matthew 6:10, "Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven;" and as God's will is done in heaven, it shall be done on earth. The future on earth already IS in heaven. Heaven is past, present, and future. The future exists NOW in heaven.
Thanks for letting me share! May the grace of God be with us all.

Wa aleykom alsalam brother, thank you for your kind words and prayers! May Allah SWT bless you with the best in donya and akhira InshaAllah!
No, I have not done those things you mention alhamdolillah weshokorr.
The thing is, a year ago things went to an extreme point and that happened after I had done many aamal and charitable acts. I could not believe it and was shocked. This year I kept on insisting and did a lot of things for instance those I mentioned in the post. I visited every Imam a.s and other beloved shias (al-Hurr, Maythem Al-Tammar, Sayed Mohammed etc) in Iraq for the first time in my life.
I have noticed one thing though. The shift in my understanding of Allah SWTs justice led to increased peace and to several good things in my life. It rid me of conditions i had been struggling with. I suspect that this could have played a role in this prayer being answered. Before that I could sometimes, in my lowest points, feel as if God hated me and therefor tortured me. When I learnt more about his justice this feeling disappeared and was replaced by peace and acceptance of the affliction and my suffering. I started feeling that God was in fact just and that he had no reason to be unjust towards me or any of his creation for that matter. When that really hit me I felt great relief.

Well when I was down in the catacombs of Paris I took a photo in a closed tunnel. I didn't see anything with my eyes but later at the hotel I saw a see through woman in a dress in that photo. That scared the hell out of me.
I can't see these entities, thank God for that, but I can see their effect. I have seen objects fly, electricity turn itself on and off, objects move or slide.
The words of God are the best protection.

There is a thread in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation concerning the Tree of Life first mentioned in the garden--whose fruit was kept from Adam and Eve, because they disobeyed God--that is promised to all those descendants of Adam and Eve who will reign in the holy city when Jesus returns, where the Tree of Life will be.
"Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever." - Revelation 22:1-5
"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book." - Revelation 22:18-19

    Salaamun aleikum,
When i stay on my familys farm 2 or 3 days a week, i spend the nights in my room which is in  a detached building located in a field on the other side of the property. It is usually late at night, 2-3am, when i am done spending time with my parents. That is when i return to "my room" to go to sleep. Upon entering the building, i always say "As salaamun aleikum". Sometimes, soon after entering the building, i get this strange feeling that Im not alone:/ Its an eerie feeling, so i immediately recite Surah Al Hamd, Surah Iklass, Surah Nas, and finally Surah Falaq and the sensation subsides, alhamdulilah...but i still sleep with a light on those nights:/
This thing used to happen to me alot when i was a child, but as i got older, it started to happen less, alhamdulilah..i remember as a kid, i would walk into my room to go to sleep, and everything would seem fine and id be going about my business, then all of a sudden, id just stop, cuz id get this feeling that "im not alone in here anymore." At that moment, id go back into the livingroom and ask my dad to sleep on the couch for a bit cuz "i got that feeling again", and my dad be like, "ok"...Eventually, id go back in my room and itd be ok. Alhamdulilah now, i have surahs i can recite to get rid of whatever it is, cuz to be honest, at 42uears old, im not up to sleeping on my parents couch in their livingroom these days,lol...
