MartyS reacted to eThErEaL in the purpose of creation
Salam,
But knowledge isn’t gained. It isn’t some sort of object that it can be “gained”. It simply isn’t a thing at all because things are known (they are objects “of” knowledge they are not knowledge itself).
make sense?

MartyS reacted to shadow_of_light in the purpose of creation
Gaining knowledge is a movement from state of not knowing something to state of knowing it. So it needs time to take place.

Yes. Knowledge doesn’t go through a process and processes take time. Knowledge worthy of being called knowledge simply IS.

Alhamdulillah, I left Wilmington right before the rain started. I have two family members who drove to Atlanta. Six family members in Charlotte drove to Memphis. I pray that their homes and apartments are not flooded. Praying for safety.

I'm worried about a friend in North Carolina. She lives in an old farmhouse far from any town and she has a whole bunch of adopted special needs kids. I am praying that they keep electricity and don't have to spend a day without food or water, and they don't get any flooding. My friend is tough, she could handle it. I'm worried about her husband and children.
Here in coastal Virgina, it looks like we will be alright. Right now it's cloudy and breezy and the city is hunkered down already. Schools, government offices, businesses, and military bases are closed, and stores are sold out of bottled water and bread.

I can’t comment too much on it myself as i’m not a scholar obviously nor have I looked into it extensively but going by face value on what you wrote, it could be depicting the anti Christ figure in the end of days seeing as it clearly says that all tribes on Earth will be following this character, but i’ve also read that regarding the 10 horns and 7 heads, somehow people came to a conclusion that it represents major institutions or blocs like the EU and that they will all form that order of different parts of the world into one global system in which from then they will denounce the idea of God as you wrote hence I sometimes think the Neo Atheism movement is something pushed by these people themeselves because it’s turning away people from not even believing in false God’s but a God in itself and they are usually the folk who are into globalism and have no clue about spiritual warfare for them it’s all about the physical world and flesh. Buying/selling verse could either be a physical chip or maybe if you’re outcasted from the one world system ie true believers and you no longer wish to participate in that controlled society, you could be outlawed or subjected/boycotted from trading etc like some countries/movements are today they get embargoed by superpowers which puts their nation in a state of deprivation, it’s a random subjective rant I know but using imagination is fun lol @MartyS

For the last hour l have been trying to find usable information.
Go to a gov't site and what do you get? Political corrected, we-are-doing-all-these-important-things, nothings "Yeah, now tell me again that gov't is created gooder than baby jesus cause l is "
"And these self-assureds believe l am going to vote for the Peolosi-Hillary clique !"
l did find that the Savanah River basin narrows as it approaches the ocean and that flood stage is 15-18 feet, but also since commercial river traffic has ceased, dredging was discontinued years ago and the river is beginning to meander again, slowing the flow.
North Carolina my prayers as you may get a foot+ of rain

Still trying to figure out our plan, we are trying to go a bit more inland but according to the map I don't know how much that will help. But inshaAllah it won't be as bad as predicted.

I guess we should bring in our bikes and stuff. Updated forecast seems like right where I am won't get directly hit, but we are likely to get some strong wind along with the rain and storm surge. I checked local maps - the surge would have to be 9 feet before our house would be affected.
If anyone here on shiachat needs shelter due to evacuation, y'all can stay in my partially renovated barn. We're Zone 3 so we should be alright.

MartyS got a reaction from kingkhanwc in The End Times
Thank you, my brother. I believe that God so loved the world, His creation, that He sent Jesus to be born in human flesh, spotless and sinless, in order to save the sons of men from death and hell. God demonstrated that He accepted this sacrifice by raising Jesus from the dead. I believe that as Jesus came the first time, a suffering servant, rejected and despised by men he came to save, he will come again as conquering ruler and king of the world. And every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.
"John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. - Revelation 1:4-6
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. - Philippians 2:9-11
May the grace of God be upon us all.

Blessings,
It seems to me that the Jewish people WILL recognize and accept Jesus as their Messiah...this time!
"On that day the LORD will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the angel of the LORD, going before them. And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn." - Zechariah 12:8-10
As a Christian foreigner (along with my Muslim friends) to the house of Israel, I wonder if it is YHWH's purpose to bless us all through the third temple?
"And the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, to minister to him, to love the name of the LORD, and to be his servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it, and holds fast my covenant, these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples." - Isaiah 56:6-7

I like that part about..."in the end it will all link up together."
And many nations shall join themselves to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people. And I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. - Zechariah 2:11

@MartyS Dear Marty, I like how you brought out that Zachariah verses because yes even though we may disagree theologically about the position of Jesus pbuh, but i’m not surprised and I do believe that in the end, he will clarify the matter and from my perspective as well as Sunni narrations, there will be good Christians/Jews along with others (possibly), against others of their own faith and that people from different nations will link up to the same point because after all we’re dealing with the biggest events of the world, not just some small conflict but as for the location of the Temple Mount, i’ve seen videos claiming the location to be around different places, possibly it might be near the Dome of the Rock instead of the same location as I need to look for in to it further however the main importance is the whether it will be built or not with the ritual preperations since location is important but all we can do is just sit by and watch the signs unfold.

Not the third temple directly, but in Sunni hadith tradition, when Jerusalem will start to flourish as a state this will be at a time when Medina well become deserted with a lot of struggle which then following there will be a battle between Rum and Muslims to conquer constatinople which will then mark the coming of Dajjal and the fact that Isa ibn Maryam as will kill dajjal in the gates of Ludd which is Israel. The reason why I say personally to watch out for the third temple is because unlike the Christians and Muslims, the Jews are waiting for a messiah other than Jesus as who I suspect to be Dajjal. I do believe there’s truth in the previous books to an extent mixed with falsehood hence i’m not surprised if they conduct rituals and prophecies go by regarding the Jewish Messiah that they want to usher in and a major part of that is the Third Temple who even some Christians believe that there will be a figure claiming worship in the temple, so in conclusion I think all three major religions will have a huge role to play in the end times, you don’t have to accept the latter part of my world view but that’s my opinion and i’ll continue to be observing the world.

MartyS reacted to Son of Placid in Narration about Paul of Tarsus
Paul's take on original sin comes from Adam and Eve. Not their sin, but the fact that they died. There is still more to the forbidden fruit than disobedience. God told Adam, "In the day you eat of it you shall surely die." It happened. This is why Paul says, "as sin entered the world..." He was talking about death. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life." Paul said, "To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law." There's no law for babies. Christianity has decided we are all sinners from birth.
Going back to; "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life." Paul's message was salvation is a gift of God. The big controversial verse that everyone seems to think means saved by faith actually starts out with; "By grace ye are saved..." Still a gift from God. "Through faith" No faith, no grace, "not of works, lest anyone should boast" In other words, motives behind the good works can count more than the works. Paul was big on faith, "Faith without works is dead" He certainly didn't promote dead faith so he obviously approved of good works, did enough himself. I know there are many Christians in the world think believing aka faith is good enough. They don't even have a clue, but obviously this did not come from Paul.
Dr. Russell Tardo belched out, “Every bit of the law was nailed to Calvary’s cross, having been completed and fulfilled in the person and life of Jesus Christ” in a book he wrote, Sunday Fact & Sabbath Fiction. in paul's letter to the Corinthians he wrote; “... rather, the keeping of God’s commandments is essential”, and again, "...so serve I the God of my fathers, believing all things that are written in the Law and the Prophets” There were 1001 Jewish must do laws at the time. There are still teachers who insist you believe exactly as they do, or you're going to hell. Every hoop and hurdle was a pivotal point to salvation. He spoke of the uselessness of circumcision of evil men. I know Muslims like to read that differently but it is the basic context of what he was talking.
Berated, hmmm. What does Islam think of apostates?
Paul shows up, the disciples are sitting with Gentiles. The Jew show up and the disciples move. They don't want to be seen with Gentiles in front of Jews. I think that's called hypocrasy and Paul was okay to call them on it.
According to the record, Jesus identified Himself to Paul on the road to Damascus. Paul spent three days fasting and praying in total darkness. That's where Paul learned his new direction.
Let's put it this way. Paul met Jesus like Muhammad met Gabriel. Same amount of evidence.
The kicker is missing. Normally Paul is accused of starting the whole trinity thing.

MartyS reacted to Carlzone in Today I am thankful for..
Alhamdulillah weshokorr for this lovely day. I'm so happy for everything that took place today. I'm very thankful that there still are so many respectful and honest nonbelievers in the West who respect and treat Muslims right. It's such a shame that they are not believers, because they have so many Islamic qualities about them.

Greetings and blessings,
Does this discussion relate to the words of the Prophet David?
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. - Psalm 139:16
Thank you.

Peace between Muslims and Christians is the default at this point. I haven't heard anyone on this site call for a 'Holy War'. Have you ?
Both Muslims and Christians have deranged lunatics amoung us, but Alhamduillah(thank God), those are very, very small fractions of the total
IMHO, the key to spiritual progress in understanding God(s.w.a). If we can figure out what is blocking us from doing that, that is a first step.
