  1. Thanks for sharing @Abu Hadi. Could you share the reference to this ayat? It sounds very familiar, reminding me a lot of this verse from the Injeel: No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
  2. King David wrote: Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! Psalms 139:23‭-‬24 When we genuinely come to God seeking His will and ask Him to show us what is true and right, we can trust that He is faithful to lead us to the truth
  3. Hello @DarConall, this definitely sounds like a difficult time for you and for your family. I can't imagine what it must feel like to be in your position. With your permission, I would like to pray for you in the name of Jesus, that God's peace would be upon your family, that God will guide you in how you can best show your love for your sister and that He would lead you in how you can best protect her from danger, that God's hand would be with her to protect her wherever she goes, and that she would have wisdom from God to recognize what is truth and what is right despite any one-sided information she is receiving. I wish you and your family the very best, friend. May God's peace, which goes far beyond anything we can imagine, guard your heart and mind in union with the Messiah Jesus.
  4. Hi @megaman, I'm curious to understand what you mean by differentiating between "true" and "authentic". Would you be willing to explain?
  5. As an American, I've seen and heard of and met many in my community who could be described as Islamophobic. Often this is exhibited merely as fear of people who are different, in background, in culture, in belief. But unfortunately, there are many whose fear leads them to anger and even hatred. It breaks my heart to see people looked down upon, insulted, despised, and even hated as a result of fear and prejudices. As a Christian, I am reminded of the words of Jesus when he said "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." I believe that this is the only way that people can overcome fear and hatred of others - when we choose to love every person, regardless of our differences, because we recognize that God chose to love us when we were still living as His enemies, that God loves all people from every country, culture, and background.
  6. This is such an interesting topic! I've really enjoyed getting to read everyone's responses, thank you all for sharing Two months or so ago I was wrestling with this very question in my heart, longing to have a profound experience or feeling of God's presence with me. I spent quite some time of crying out to God in prayer, asking Him why I wasn't getting the same kind of deep and personal experiences of His presence that some of my family members had been having at that time. After a few hours of praying and asking God to reveal Himself to me in the same or similar way that I had heard others were, I finally sensed Him speak something to me that completely comforted my heart. I sensed God telling me that He wasn't giving me exactly the same experience that other had because He knew that He could trust me to remain strong in my faith and commitment to Him whether or not I got to have a particular experience. All of my fears of not being "spiritual enough" for God were completely relieved, and I felt such peace knowing that God had heard my prayer, that He is present with me, and that He loves me, He is my perfectly loving and personal heavenly father.
