  1. Let me explain when and how it is used. I grew up in a Sunni household. The phrase "Ya Ali Madad" is used mostly in India-Pak when doing something that require courage and force. So Sunnis know about Imam Ali AS being the best of warriors and them having inhuman power/force because they lifted the door of Khaiber. So whenever doing something hard that requires courage they say "Ya Ali Madad" to recall the same help of Allah that helped Imam Ali AS. It was from ghaib. And ghaib is from Allah. It's all from Allah. So whenever someone says "Ya Ali madad" they are actually asking help from the God of Imam Ali AS to help them and give them strength as they helped Imam Ali AS. That is another argument that no one can understand Imam Ali AS except Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and Prophet Muhammad SAWW. This beautiful and magical sermon by Ammar Nakshwani gives us an idea about levels of existence of Imam Ali AS for who can understand.
  2. @In Gods Name I understand. What do you mean wrong intentions? Intentions is everything and only Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is aware of every existing humans intentions. So I think we can leave it to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) to judge. Because it doesn't matter how we pray or the words we use. All that matter is what is in our hearts and mind and only Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) knows that. But I do understand your point of view and what you are trying to explain. Do not worry, I believe only in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). There is a saying from a poet that says if I have to choose between love and Imaan...I would choose love. Because everybody is seeking Imaan. But loves level is higher than the level of Imaan. So may Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) keep our love for him and the Ahlul Bait AS alive. Ameen Inshallah.
  3. In Pakistan it is very common to say "Ya Ali Madad" and not just for shia ppl but in Sunnis as well. It means "Help me Ya Ali" to ask help from Imam Ali AS directly. That's my perspective.
  4. Oh thank you for your suggestions. I have been granted so many things from Ahlul Bait AS. Of course it all comes from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and it is God who created them and everything else.
  5. Thank you so much. May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and Ahlul Bait AS reward you for your kindness. I just saw your post. Thank you for listing out everything, but I will not lie to you; it is going to take me a long time to gather courage and contact any of these or to get there. But do people actually do what you suggested or will I be looked as weird for asking to be introduced for having no friends or connections. But thank you so much for your reply.
  6. Alsalam alaikum, I recently moved to London from north of England. I have no family or friends around. So I am looking for some friends i guess. Female friends obviously. This seems like a desperate call but I don't even have a job currently and have been visiting around alone and at the end of the day it kind of seems useless and lonely. So if anyone knows about any events or anyone willing to meet up in London. Posting this here because I kind of trust this communty so much as we all share the love for Ahlul bait (عليه السلام).
  7. I saw some videos shared by Shaun King on Instagram. It gave me so much pain and agony to watch Men being tortured and humilated like that. I cannot forget that. Everyone talks about children being affected, women sufferings but No one talks about what these men are going through. May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) punish these wrong doers as they are putting these Palestinian men through unimaginable horror. Every human being has dignity, some kind of ego, honour and respect and to humiliate someone like this... cannot even think about what they must have gone through. There can be no retribution to what they did or are doing to Palestinian men. No men should go through this. My heart is crying for all this. I am unable to think further and there is no solution or hope for peace. These dogs are not letting them be. Only Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) can help them but we don't know about Allah's raza. Ya Allah ! Ya Allah ! Ya Allah !
  8. Wsalam May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) make it easier for you inshallah. Read ziyatah of Ashura. Inshallah will work like a miracle for you. Try reading it for 40 days consecutively. Do astaghfar. Read Quran. Remember there is ease after every hardship. And Remember as it is mentioned in the Quran that "Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) forgives all sins" If you think this hardship is here because of your past sins then you must be lucky and important for God because you are going through difficulties now and inshallah all your sins will be erased and you will go to paradise. Lucky are those people who pay for their wrong doing / sins in this life. May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and Ahle Bait AS help you, Inshallah.
  9. Didn't Miraj happen after the deaths of Hazrat Khadija SA and Hazrat abu Talib AS? I have heard that Prophet Muhammad SAWW were in grief, they called it the saddest year of their life when they lost the uncle and wife. So that's when Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) called Prophet Muhammad SAWW for Miraj. Is there any truth in these hadiths ?
  10. Halal and haram is not simply right and wrong...it is way above that. It is not simply sinning or not sinning. Halal and haram have nothing to do with right and wrong... something could be 100% right but if Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) has made it haram for you, it is prohibited untill the judgment day. We are faced with right and wrong decisions and situations throughout our lives... but haram and halal have been decided from way before and that does not change for anyone, doesn't matter their rank, position, financial situation, cast or race in Islam.... and it is not a very vast field or unlimited list about what is halal or haram. It doesn't leave anything to immagination. Simply following the halal way of life makes you a superior human in Islam and very rare. I know jews have that thing where somethings are prohibited for them but they do not have any concept of halal. And if you do know about any other religion in this world where things are strictly prohibited or allowed in an extreme positive way then please enlighten me.
  11. Something that Islam has and no other religion ever had that makes it unique...if that is what your friend is looking for then that is THE CONCEPT OF HALAL AND HARAAM. no other religion ever had these boundries set as halal and haraam and these boundries make the religion of islam unique.
  12. Wsalam, if you are highly qualified, keep applying for better paying jobs. Do not stop if they keep refusing you. Make a good resume/cv, that can help. Keep trying for high paid jobs inshallah you will be successful. Read Surah Waqia everyday after Maghrib prayer, Inshallah it increases rizk. Keep reciting Alhamdullillah as much as you can because Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) says if you are thankful I will give you more. And even if you are struggling start giving charity... it comes back double. I know it is really hard when you can hardly manage but its a tested method, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) says do business with me... that is when we help people in need. May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and Ahle bait AS make it easier for all of us Inshallah ameen sum ameen
  13. Alsalam Alaikum, You shall deem yourself to be lucky because you did not die in your previous state. You are lucky and Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) likes you so he brought back your faith. Start reading ziyarah of Ashura once everyday with the aim to keep your imaan intact. Try to do your prayers and read Quran with translation. Do not force yourself to do all these heavy acts of worshipping because it might feel like a burden. Try to include them all in your life slowly. Keep doing astaghfar and as for your lost prayers and fasts you can start doing Qaza prayers and can pay someone (if you can afford it) for the fasts you have missed. Always remember that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) brought you back to the right path so be grateful and never stop believing that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) forgives all sins. There is a quote from Imam Ali (عليه السلام). where they say that "I would not be surprised if all the sinners will end up in Jannah for how merciful Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is" May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and Ahle bait AS guide us all to the right path and make us die as believers... Inshallah
  14. Alsalam alaikum Some people avoid eating meat during the first 10 days of Muharram, and by meat i mean chicken as well. Should we avoid meat and if we want to distribute food...do we have to be careful for it to not have any meat in it ? Has anyone heard about this or if someone practises it and can let me know... I used to make a good meal on 10th of Muharram and do khatam for Imam Hussain AS but shall I abstain from it? Thank you
  15. So is this the only unreliable source about which many scholars talk about.. and many people give references only based on this explanation... ?? I wouldn't put it past Abu Bakr and Umar to plot something like this in their eagerness to come to power but Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) knows best. - And Ali b. Ibrahim said these verses were revealed when one day the Holy Prophet ﷺ was at Hafsa’s place and Mariya the Copt was in his service. During that time Hafsa went out on some errand and the Prophet had relations with Mariya. When Hafsa came to know about this, she was very angry and she said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, you had relations with a slave girl on my bed, and on the day of my turn?” The Prophet was embarrassed at this and he said, “Cool down, I will not have relations with Mariya again. I have made her unlawful for myself.” But he told her that she must keep this matter concealed otherwise the divine curse will be upon her and the anger of the angels and the ridicule of all people. Hafsa said that she will maintain a secret. But what is the secret? The Prophet said: “It is that Abu Bakr will become the Caliph after me through injustice and oppression and after him, your father will become the Caliph.” Hafsa asked him, “Who has told you this?” The Holy Prophet ﷺ said that “the Almighty Allah has informed me about it.” Hafsa revealed it to Ayesha the same day and she mentioned it to her father. Abu Bakr came to Umar and said that “Ayesha has quoted Hafsa thus, but I don’t trust her statement, you ask Hafsa directly if this is true?” Umar came to Hafsa, “Is it true what Ayesha mentioned on your authority?” Initially Hafsa denied having said any such thing to Ayesha. Umar said, “Don’t conceal this from us if it is true, so that we may plan about it beforehand.” Hafsa said, “Yes, the Holy Prophet ﷺ mentioned thus.” Then the two men and their daughters plotted to poison the Prophet. -
  16. I have heard this a lot of time but no one really wants to go further on this topic...i have heard certain scholars mentioning this as well. Could you please elaborate and share your knowledge. We shouldn't be scared to talk about anything...
  17. So about his statement... he is saying you can hit yourself out of restlessness with hands or knives or swords... But what about holding them up already...being already prepared... and having these items and then coming out knowing that you will surely be using them.... that can not surely mean "hitting oneself if restless... or grieving " It is more like -we have to hit ourselves so we have to get restless... its more like preparing yourself before hand for what you are about to do.... - Hazrat Sarah hit her face in the Quran... but think if she was ready before listening to the news... that she knew that I will get this news so I have to hit myself... I do not know if I make sense. But I think Imam Ali ASs religion is logical in all things... if you can not come up with a logical explanation or reasoning then there can be some doubts.
  18. I was thinking the same thing. Can Shiaism be separated from Matam/chest beating and tatbir? I do not understand why does it have to be in coordination or why do they have to put on a show in organised events ... May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) forgive me. Maybe some of them do it out of real grief and sorrow but it looks so dramatic. How did it come to be this way...? Why did people feel the need to take this on to the roads? If one is grieving something they surely do not want to display themselves to the whole world. I might be wrong in saying this but Shiaism has come to be only 2 things... Matam and majalis. I have nothing against both of these practices but I have encountered people who would not believe that you are shia just because you do not do matam or attend majalis. By attending majalis i mean everyone has their own way of remembering Imam Hussain AS and in the end it is all about praying and niyyah. For some reason if someone is not able to go to majalis and reads about all the historical facts of Karbala and listens to scholars online... they surely should not be forced to attend majalis... And about Matam I know of some Sayed families who did not used to do matam but they do now...and all the people converting to shiaism start doing it as well just to be part of the culture otherwise you will not be accepted by the community.... and somehow all of them think this is some kind of ibadah...which it is if it comes naturally and one is not doing it for a show. Following the teachings of Ahle Bait AS and believing them to be superior to all of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) creation, being pious... is what is important. Sadly religion has come to be so dramatic that we have accepted and have gotten used to certain customs and have left back and forgotten what is more important to build and keep faith.
  19. Alsalam alaikum, Again this is from my personal views and experience. Is it okay if people of Sayed cast make you feel like they are superior just because they are sayed? I will not talk about if they practice their religion or not...that is a different story. But according to the Prophet MuhammadSAWW : "All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a White has no superiority over a Black nor a Black has any superiority over a White except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly." Does this exclude Sayeds? Please keep in mind I am not talking about The Ahle Bait AS. But from a personal experience, especially when looking at proposals... is it alright if you make the other person feel like the religion is more yours then someone elses just because they are not sayed? I am going through some questions...I do not seem to hold some kind of unquestionable love for the sayed cast from our generation or in our society.... does that make me a sinner? Certainly the cast is above any other cast... or bloodline BUT... I believe that Sayeds should lead by example...I understand that it is a huge burden and way too much responsibility but Sayeds are Sayed by their good amaals. I do not know if I have explained myself correctly. I did not mean to hurt anyone, so if I did I apologise. Thank you Wsalam
  20. Alsalam alaikum I apologise in advance if my post causes any offence to anyone. It is not directed toward anyone directly. So I am from a Sunni family. And have heard 2 men from my family...(very close relatives) from the same city in Pakistan... saying that Shia's can not be trusted. One went as far to say that he would eat from Kuffars but not from a shia household. He had shia friends. He refused to say anything further and the second male had shia/sayed neighbours for years. So when asked about why do they dislike Shia community both of thems answer was that "indecent acts happen during majalis, lights are turned off and things happen" Both of them have never spoken to each other about this topic so they both have individual experiences and have about 35 years of age difference. So have you heard anything like this before or have you ever witnessed anything indecent during majalis, especially if you are from Pakistan. Thank you May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and Ahle Bait (عليه السلام). guide us all to the right path. And indeed it is only Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) who can turn hearts no matter how hard we try to explain or argue about certain things. W.Salam
  21. Alsalam alaikum Do not despair. Keep doing taubah. And you can start reading Ziyarah of Ashura for 40 days, once a day. It works like magic. Try to keep up with your prayers and never forget that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) forgives all sins. 39:53 Do not dwell too much on the past and try to better your future and try to avoid every sin that comes your way. Try to do good deeds no matter how small they can be. The reward for goodness is nothing but goodness. 55:60 And good deeds repell sins. Take care. May Ahle bait AS help you into finding peace and happiness Inshallah Ameen
  22. Alsalam alaikum Read ziyara of Ashura x40 days, inshallah whatever you read it for will you will achieve. I would advise you to seek protection from the enemy from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and not want them to go to prison. But of course you know best as its your life and only you know the danger you and your family are facing. Don't worry and pray. Ziyarah of Ashura brings miracles. Inshallah Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) keep you and your family safe, ameen sum ameen
  23. Would you mind going to a Shia mosque...? Try to go there and try having food with Shia brothers... in an imam bargah... It might connect some dots.
  24. Alsalam alaikum, We all think we have the worst parents but someone out there has it even harder than us. I can not even imagine how you feel or what you go though. May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and Ahlul Bait AS protect you and your siblings and keep you on the straight path. You don't realise how Lucky You are. To be able to understand good from bad...growing up around that kind of things and still being able to differ halal from haraam...you are very special and lucky. Do not think too much on what your parents do... concentrate on your study and improve your imaan. Once you are old enough and independent you can get a place and do all the right things. Guidance only comes from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) so i can not suggest anything for your parents. But be thankful to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) as much as you can...inshallah things will get better for you. Try to join the imam bargah in your city...try to talk to someone there...and make friends into the shia community. Once someone on this forum told me the only thing we should care about is what Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) think of us...nothing else matters. Just remember that... doesn't matter what your parents say or do... you try and have a good connection with Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). The only things you owe your parents is respect. Thats it.
