  1. AsSalamu Alaikum, Kanat Eleyoun is quite good. They have predominantly Arabic videos, but I only watch the videos they have in English which are especially interesting as they have indepth analysis of the Quran, hadiths etc. They are by Mohammad Moussa. May Allah bless you!
  2. AsSalamu Alaikum, Every business needs someone to look after their accounts, book keeping, etc. Essentially an account is there to ensure that a business is running and managing well and are there to help them save money, etc. I think the only issue that could come regarding accounting is if you are an accountant within a bank. I hope Allah blesses you with a prosperous future and you are rewarded for your best intentions. Please forgive me if anything I've said is incorrect. May Allah bless you!
  3. AsSalamu Alaikum, I think in recent times another big contributor to 'climate change' is geoengineering. Although this area is very skeptical there is countless theories to suggest that chemtrails and haarp have been used for weather modification which in turn has contributed to a change to our climate, however what I find intriguing is that recently the United Nations published a report about how geoegineering could actually counteract global warming. I think geoengineering is an area you need to keep a close eye on as in this day and age when it comes to climate change, as depending on your viewpoint it can either be an advantage in combating or a disadvantage in contributing. Another point that I think is interesting is how every 405,000 years Venus and Jupiter affect our climate, due to the gravitational pull from each planet, the earths orbit is sent into an ellipse of about 5°, producing the Milankovitch cycles that cause the planet’s glacial and interglacial cycles. Changes to the climate and environment have been linked towards this 405000 year cycle, even from the time of the dinosaurs. Currently we are in the middle of one of these cycles with the last peak occurring 200000 years ago. I think this is very interesting and also proves the fact that climate change isn't just a recent occurrence. May Allah Bless you all!
  4. AsSalamu Alaikum, If he likes coffee you could get him a gift card for his favorite coffee shop, then write on it "Thanks a Latte," and if he loves a good joke or pun I think he will like it. I saw this online once and used it before, it got a few laughs. Good luck with whatever gift you give him
  5. Wa Alaikum AsSalam, Allah has created animals/fish for us to provide us with essential nutritional needs. An aspect of vegan-ism I fail to understand is how they avoid honey as they say that we are essentially "exploiting the bees" when we know that Allah has stated in Surah al-Nahl referring to honey "There comes forth from within it a beverage of many colors, in which there is a healing for men." verse 69, this is an essential argument as it shows us how Allah has created these different sources of food as benefits to our health. From this we can come to an understanding of how our diet should be based of what Allah has made Halal for us and what suits our nutritional needs the most. Moderation is always key and it is always highlighted. Although vegan diet has become some what of a fad in recent years there are also a lot of benefits towards going vegan and vegan recipes. For example vegans avoid dairy, in fact a study has found that, about 75% of the world's adult population are lactose intolerant. I think one of the main benefits of becoming vegan is that you are more heavily reliant on vegetables and fruit and as you are avoiding meat, poultry, fish etc. you try to find alternatives which substitute these benefits for you. If we try to live a more plant based life I think thats where the real benefits do come from and that is why people idealize vegan-ism as being a sustainable and healthy diet when in reality, as non-vegans we maybe are less reliant on these powerful sources of food. A study done by Nobel Prize winner Elizabeth Blackburn found that a vegan diet caused more than 500 genes to change in three months, turning on genes that prevent disease and turning off genes that cause cancer, heart disease and other illnesses. However this also comes down to the energy we are provided with from the food sources we are relying on and thus this is where Halal comes into play, what food Allah has made lawful for us. As we may be trying to purify our souls, we forget that our physical health has a direct influence on our spiritual health. That is why fasting is recommended because from staying away from food we are purifying our souls and the same can be said for the food we our placing in our bodies. There is that saying we are what we eat, which is very much true. Food is made from energy and the energy must be aligned by what has been made lawful by Allah for our own benefit. Thats why it is important to strive to eat Halal not only when it comes to the slaughtering of meat but other aspects of foods as well. As there is an ethical background to vegan-ism, we can see that Allah is nothing more than ethical and that is the direct background of Halal. For example eating organic, this is crucial for a halal diet as a lot of grown foods in these days contain chemicals which affect our health and we are left with a lot less nutritional benefit. Increasingly grown foods are becoming more genetically modified which intern also affects our health (many studies have found how Gmos affect our gene health as well but negatively) and thus our spiritual health as well as this affects the energy of the organism. An example of this can be seen from kirlian photography, of an organic mushroom compared to a commercially grown mushroom. The energy emitting from each is distinctly different. At the end it comes down to moderation. I think a vegan diet makes people more conscious about what they are placing in their body thus they have a tendency to become more healthy however at the end of the day we must ensure that any diet we have benefits our health to the best as it possibly can and thus we must ensure we are being provided with the vital nutrients and minerals that help us to sustain a healthy and happy life. I hope that I have given you some small insight. Please forgive me if anything is incorrect or if I have confused you in any matter or If I waffled too much. May Allah bless you!
  6. As Salamu Alaikum Brothers and Sisters, Since Imam Zaman (as) is in occultation, I think it is most important to remember that although we can not see him the Imam is always with us and as his followers he needs our help and for us to show dedication towards him and thus hasten his reappearance. Therefore my question I ask is how are you helping the Imam now? What contributions are you making in your day to day life that are in service towards him? If not, what can we do as individuals to carry out work for our awaited Imam? May Allah bless you all
  7. Wa Alaikum AsSalam, Congratulations to you too on the birthday of two of the Greatest Humans to walk this earth Prophet Muhammad(sawa) and his Grandson Imam Sadiq(as). May Allah bestow countless blessings and love upon you. May your connection to the Holy Prophet(sawa) and his Ahlulbayt continue to grow and thus your connection to Allah. And May your guidance within Islam continue to increase and blossom #WeLoveMuhammad
  8. Wa Alaikum Assalam, This life is a test for us and when Allah refers to Shaitan whispering into our heart it is a part of the test. Throughout life we are constantly aiming to purify our hearts, and through purification it acts as a barrier/protection against Shaitan. Thats why it key that we aim to say Salat on time, give Zakat, to fast, perform Hajj, do good onto others, perform extra duas and maintain our connection with the Holy Prophet and his Ahlulbayt and thus with Allah. Allah is not unfair, he is ar-Rahman, ar-Rahim, the most beneficent and the most merciful. Allah loves to show us mercy, he loves us and would never be unkind to us. The more we purify ourselves the closer our connection with Allah and the more protection we have against the "Shaitans Whispers". The heart is not physical it is much more spiritual than we can come to understand. I will leave you with this verse from the Quran, 'Those who believe and whose hearts are set at rest by the remembrance of Allah; now surely by Allah's remembrance are the hearts set at rest.' Surah 13 Verse 28 I hope I gave you some insight, please forgive me if anything is incorrect. May Allah bestow countless blessing upon you and continue your guidance.
